Rain clouds building up again. 3 hours and a half to go and a lot of things still to happen. Gap between car #3 and car #7 is just under 40 seconds. GT Pro is hotting up too!

He was refering to top seed, they are more or less equal because of DIFFERENT DOWNFORCE SETUP.

Means Toyota need to use lighter downforce wing, to keep up on straight, but less downforce on turns is not good for turns.

Well yes, I know he was referring to top speed. I should specify my posts but I thought it would be obvious.

So what about Audi though? Heavier downforce wing, to keep up in the corners, but too much downforce on straights?

Vice versa? Where's the problem you're making this out to be?

Nothing would happen. The Audi accelerates slightly better out of the chicanes, but over a lap the Audi is far faster than that difference.

They just showed a shot of the #1 Audi effortlessly powering by one of the Toyotas out of Tertre Rouge. It was like the difference between a P1 and P2 car. 👎

Point is more downforce and equal top speed = advantage on turns = faster lap times.

uMadson?
never tried karting under the rain, noted. :)

also LOL EuroSport woman and the Chevrolet 458 Italia

Slick on wet track, most fun. You'll think you have a failing ABS when braking. Skidding party! Work out too. You'll feel like a drifter.

"That was Davidson's 'Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing''

indeed, skidding around should be fun

It would be perhaps more equal if one car had faster straightline speed but the other handled better. But having better downforce = better corner speed = better laptimes. Especially at a fast track like Le Mans where high-speed aero downforce is so crucial, of course the Audi will have an advantage. :ouch:

Surely watching both cars go around Porsche should show the difference.
C'mon #97 Turner!

edit:
What's Nigel Adkins doing at Alpine?
