Exactly as I said, Tom was driving for Allan.

I believe ACO will tone down the ceremony.

"My dad always cheered for me. He's not here anymore [death], but this victory goes to Allan Simonsen". - Tom K.

An amazing event. Glad I could watch it with GTPlanet. :gtpflag:

This forums always adds a lot of entertainment to the experience of watching Le Mans from the couch :gtpflag:.

Hope to see you all next year, hopefully to see a more disputed race and to see no sad fatalities.

Definitely. Best place to be during Le Mans is right here on GTPlanet. Cheers guys. I apologise for being a grumpy so-and-so this time around, the race was much better than I'm making out. I guess the FIA meddling and politics, coupled with the tragic events, have cast a bad shadow over things for me.

Still, cheers for the company all

Very honorable. Much respect for him. 👍

At least the #2 car won, even if it was an Audi.

I doubt people will remember Le Mans 2013 for TK's ninth victory, McNish's third, and, of course Duval's first, though... :(

Let's hope for a better race next year, and of course every year after!

I'm starting to think this is no longer an endurance race. This is more like a really long GP race..! I didn't see any of them sandbagging, all of them pushed like hell throughout the race!

Absolutely, that's what it's coming down to. You have no choice now but to push as hard as possible or you're left behind. Some teams manage this, but others, they fall by the wayside and their Le Mans experience will come to an end. The more and more technology improves, all the more fascinating this event becomes. You simply cannot hold back anymore.

To Allan Simonsen, thoughts go out with you, to your family. Goodbye.

From Audi's twitter feed; "This 24hrs will go down in history - one of epic struggle, heartbreak, emotion and trial. What a race. #LM24"

Sums it up perfectly. I'm out! Audi won their 12th victory at the 90th Anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Right on! Good night everyone. Crazies 24 hours...

I agree with your entire post, fellow Audi supporter.

Great race overall with a sad component of course that will not be forgiven.

Congrats to Audi and Toyota, Nissan, Porsche and Ferrari.

Can´t wait for next year with Porsche and Nissan in LM P1!

RIP Allan Simonsen.

Well, glad to have shared at least part of the race with all of you guys :gtpflag:

Sadly, Aston Martin couldn't grab a win in the name of Allan Simonsen but at least his fellow countryman Tom Kristensen was able to. Congratulations Audi for the win, and thanks Toyota for the fight you gave and the great effort!

I hope they keep it classy. A man died, after all...

Congrats Audi and Duval!!! And Toyota did bring on the heat to Audi this year and the #7 did a impressive job out there as well. Congrats on 2nd Toyota! Next year guys.

And 👍 on keeping it classy for a legend who passed away yesterday.
