I just got the news from the commentators the family of Mr Simonsen asked Aston Martin director to continue the race and get the best result possible as a tribute, do your best AM.

Wow. What a touching tribute and message. Finish the job he was trying to do.

That's a sexy Aston!

Just heard about Simonsen, terrible news. :(

It's easy to forget how dangerous Motorsport really is. I'm cheering for Aston now, and hoping Rebellion takes a podium in P1.

Do they drink Milk or is that only F1?

That's only Indianapolis. Which isn't F1. I'd advise you use this cool new thing called GOOGLE before you ask questions here. No offense but you are making a fool of yourself.

Sorry but I agree.

Anyone think Audi have this race done?

The TV coverage's focus on LMP1 is becoming more and more odd considering the LMP1's turning into yet another Audi walkover. Surely things are closer in P2 and the GTE classes?

Much less, look at the Toyotas or Audis. Or Gulf Astons.

They're less billboard-ish than your average NASCAR car but they're still one amazingly fast billboard for Audi, Toyota, Gulf and Aston Martin respectively. The difference is that they do it with more taste and they don't put fig newtons sponsorship on their windshields .

Assuming they keep all 4wheels on the track, yes. But it's still early, and you know this just as well as I do that anything can happen.

Anything can happen...but this is Audi, which means what may happen (engine blowups, crashes, mistakes etc) just won't.

It might be out of respect for Alan, showing his name with "out" below it for 20 more hours might not be the best thing to do. I'm talking about the "ticker".

He was driving when the car was retired. He'll be listed as the driver for the rest of the race.

Yeah, Gulf Oil Company. It's an iconic livery, but still a corporate sponsor. Toyota has Matmut and Denso ads all over their cars. It's literally no different.

So are the Daytona prototypes going to go neck and neck with the LMP's in next year's 24 hour race? With the USCR?

There's no "done" at Le Mans. Well, unless you're a french team with poor build quality that loses all four cars or you have a two car team in which one of them is taken out by a dumb GT AM car and the other goes "I got no mirrors" on a Deltawing.

Still 20 hours or so of racing, so anything can happen.

SPEED's commentators go, "and the best part is it doesn't hurt when you crash on Xbox," before having a laugh.

Extremely poor taste after what happened to Simonsen.
