Thanks killer I'm trying to keep it fair and fun. Since we have an off week I'm going to figure out what we're going to do.

Oh man I thought that was the All Star race you guys did yesterday. Guess I might be able to make it after all. In other news I had another not so good week in the fantasy league. I did see Sass was at the top of the list this week.

I think that racefan's record time at Apricot was really fast time. It will be hard to beat even with free run setup - but with the race setup very hard 👍
My times at ovals (Indy, Daytona & Motegi) are easy to beat by free run setup (done that) - but again with race setup they are good times.
So @aceboy127 make my day :)

Edit: BTW my best freerun setup laptime at Apricot was/is 1'14.881. Racefan's time was/is fast!

Thanks Jammy! haha, I would assume that my apricot time is beatable, but I don't really know enough about setups to know that for sure.

Being new to oval tuning, could anyone hint if transmission adjustments help with top speed or just close to the lowest downforce setting?

I know for sure your time is fast.

There is no secrets in setups. It's all hard work. First you must learn to track and car. My first thing is find driving line that I can make lap times very close to each other. Then I start to make changes to setup to way I like to car to handle and to suit my driving style (soft and smooth). I usually change one thing at the time to see how car behave and is lap time any better.

Downforce is one thing that make lot of diffecent in ovals but also it's very risk setting - if you go too low you don't make high speed cornes if draft - if you go too high you lose high speed at the straight.

Transmission is difficult. You must know car's motor and where (rpm) it's top horsepower and torgue is and then you setup gears round those numbers - and top speed what you want to get in longest straight.

Being new to oval tuning, could anyone hint if transmission adjustments help with top speed or just close to the lowest downforce setting?

I approach tuning differently than Jammy, I try to figure out what the absolute optimal race line is. I then make adjustments that will give me the ability to run that line.

They do help. If you pole all the guys from last Saturday night I bet you will come up with 5 or 6 different trans setups. I know my car got faster when I played with the trans, I picked up a tenth messing with the trans.

My trans is 3.450 with a 205 top speed. Seems to be just fine. Also, 10 inches of snow and my V6 2001 Accord Coupe with studless snows go to work just fine. Felt like a Swedish Rally or something. If you work in a body shop like i do, you never want this weather to end. Keep wreckin em.

Oh ya I think I know why I had the tire issue Saturday before the season started RoadRash told me some stuff to counter the glitch well when the room crashed and I started it up again and I for got todo the thing that I was doing to counter act it. Sorry guys

Man guys I was just reading some of our most brilliant posts in the GASS Series 2 thread. Those thoughts and feelings from everyone are what make me want to stick around with this great group of guys. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then stop reading this post and go take a look. Lots of posts to be liked in there.

I agree guys this is best group you'll ever come across and with the new comers we have in this series there is no telling what is next for this group I'm just happy to be part of this awesome group it sure has brought gaming to another level racing with all of you guys. Reading all those old posts kinda pissed me off but then again makes me realize we all stood up to a jackass for a great friend.
I have some ideas for a series and want to run it across a few of you guys when we all get on again for input.

I did think it was funny how we were talking about all the incidents and whatnot and then greest barges in and just says the most random thing. He did now how to ruin a moment.

may I ask what counter acts it?

So if we are in the all star already we just watch the open or participate in it?
Ya all of you locked in already just watch the open. You all have an advantage because you will have les laps on the cars and I think the 10 laps in the open will make the cars in the open start to lose some hp after the last segment
