Used my trusty AC Cars 427 S/C '66 for a easy win against the Rocket. Now the fun begins trying other underpowered cars. Anyone got any suggestions for some good cars to try? I only add non power parts (and weight reduction if necessary) to tune my cars for these events so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Good luck everyone.

AC Car 427?

What is that please?

i thought Cobra but that is American, I am not good at abbreviations, way too many cars to choose from

Is your rocket tuned in suspension and transmission?

Which rabbit did you have?

both time i had the rocket as my rabbit and my rocket is stock with pp set to 520PP but ill give the suspension and trans a tune =) never thought about that

We discussed way back in GT 5 about the fact that there are 3 difficulty levels within each event - not that I'm expecting every player to have been involved in that convo - and if you keep recycling the event you'll find that there is one lineup with the Jack Rabbit as Red Rocket, another where the Jack Rabbit is played by the Green Fire . . . and another line-up ( ;) ) where neither of the 'Gold' rabbits are present. With that line-up any sub-1:45 lap car should easily get most players the Gold.

im giving up on this one. tried best lap time i can do is a 1:36.1 and closet to the rabbit (rocket) i can get is 6 seconds and that's pushing my own rocket to the max. done 8 races in total: 3 with my rocket since adding suspention and trans, 1 with an x-bow and one with a caterham and still i cant get gold. so that its im done

I hope that this is ok for me to do this, but I just thought I'd start a list of cars that could be used to win against the Rocket for anyone looking for a car to use to win the event with. I am of average skill set and no one special when it comes to driving ability, so the cars on this list should be able to be used by most anyone here to win this event. The only things I've done to them was add and tune the suspension, LSD, and transmission. I also reduced weight when necessary to as close to 1200 kg. as I could. I did not go any lower than I had to. If I am stepping on someone's toes here or you find this list unnecessary/useless, just let me know and I will stop and take it down. Thanks.

I would never have thought that the T350C could beat the Rocket. I followed DDS's guidelines but put on the fully customizable suspension and lowered the ARB's to 2/2. I had to employ SRF as I'm on a DS3 and throttle control is not a strong suit. Nevertheless, easy low 1:34 laps and even dipped into a 1:33's. Mucho faster than the McLaren at that PP.

The Esprit was one of my first choices, but I couldn't do better than 1:36 / 1:37 laps.

(In Yosemite Sam voice) "Ooooooooo!!! I hate that Rocket!!!!"

Used the Speed 6, drove last lap like car was stolen, powersliding every corner, still 10 seconds behind!! :banghead:

But I like this one, very fun!! 👍:gtpflag:

The TVR Griffith 500 '94 has been added to the list.

List of cars than can win against the Rocket (Only suspension, trans, LSD upgrades. Weight reduction/power limiter when necessary to meet race specs) Only ABS 1 used. No oil change or any other power upgrades. No aero parts. Based on an average drivers skill set such as my own.

I used my rocket for this one. First attempt, I Sunday drove it. Second try put the pedal down. Spun out on lap two and four and still managed to gold. Rabbit was the 7 Fireblade. Will give it another try and see if the rocket pops up as the rabbit.

Hey Cargo... been a fan of your tunes and was wondering if you might try out the TVR Tamora? Would be interested to see what you could do with that one as I see nothing but potential with that car!

Cheers

Alright, will try it next. I'm getting ready to try the Cerbera Speed 6 now. After that, going to eat my turkey pot pie :P then I'll give the Tamora a try. 👍

My first race car was a Lotus 47 in 1967 so I say the Lotus Europa.

What!? That's an Austrian car. I guess you meant to write something else?

Another car(s) added to the list, TVR Tamora, TVR Tuscan Speed 6

One of the easier seasonals if you use all of the PP limit. Tuned Elise 111R @ 520PP, easily won against the Rocket.

Used an Elise 111R with no real tune. Had a terrible first and second lap, but ended up sort of getting the hang of the car by the end.

Total time: 9:17.066. Best lap: 1:37.906.

Lost (to the Rocket) by 9.017. :banghead:

Oh, and this is with a bunch of driver aids, too.

We must have different definitions easy. ;)
