I took out one of my favorite cars in all of GT6 - my Red Rocket - a Lotus Elise 111R '04... I keep her tuned at 500PP and she won this race by 5 seconds, but it should have been more. My first lap was marred with poor decisions and quite inept driving on my part.

(In Yosemite Sam voice) "Ooooooooo!!! I hate that Rocket!!!!"

Used the Speed 6, drove last lap like car was stolen, powersliding every corner, still 10 seconds behind!! :banghead:

But I like this one, very fun!! 👍:gtpflag:

Imagunna count to three and start ablastin....a one, a three........oooooh I hate that rocket.....lol @ snowman's post,classic

Lotus Esprit Sport 350. all weight down, no power upgrades, just fresh oil, transmission, suspension and brakes upgraded. stock aero. 517pp. rabbit was the Rocket, caught it at last lap, won by 1 sec :) best lap 1.34... :)

Used the Elise Sport 190 '98 for this attempt. Reached gold on first try. 7 Fireblade was the rabbit again. 6.778 gap. Total time of 9:20.675. 1:39 lap average. Tune provided by shaunm80. Thanks for the great tune. Did add stage 3 engine tuning to bring it up to 518 PP.

Wow, what a superb race. Beat the Rocket in the Rocket. Had to do 36's and 35's every lap. Last lap 1:35.196 for the win by not much. 9:00.009 race time. Loved it.

I started this one with @shaunm80 tune for the Lotus Sport 190. 5 2nds in a row. Then I switched to the Rocket, it too with @shaunm80 tune. I finally got a line up with the Seven Fireblade as the rabbit. At the start I was almost 57 sec. behind. Finished 2nd 2 more times, each time bumping the final gear. I finally bumped it to 4.945 and caught and passed the Seven after the last curve before the finish. Won by 0.336 sec. My last lap was my fastest @ 1:38.8. So again thank you @shaunm80 for your excellent tunes. @shaunm80 tunes for my driving style has won me more races than I can count!👍👍👍👍👍.

I really like the Lotus Sport 190. I'm going to try again with that car and see if I can win with it. My hat is off to all of you running 1:34/1:35 lap times.

I didn't want to use a Rocket because it's the obvious choice so first I went with a Mini Marcos GT and came third behind the Rocket and Caterham 7, next I tried a Lotus Elan and was two seconds a lap slower, then I tried a Caterham and was ever slower - then I took my fully tuned TVR V8S (looks great in red with wire wheels) and reduced the power to about 350bhp and tasted success - very fast on the straights and a bit slippy on the corners, but very satisfying to drive.

I hadn't thought of the AC Cobra so will try that next and the other cars on Gargo Rats list.

de/tunned mclaren mp12-4c took me to the lead in the middle of the last lap, fully upgrade everything but the engine must be turned down, final gear 270 km/h

I think I used the Lotus Elise '96 for this, it was the last Elise listed in the Lotus dealership (after the Espirit's). Opted to buy this rather than de-tune something obvious (I'm at the credit limit anyway). I didn't change a thing after buying it (though I think I did an oil change) and had 2 cracks at it, Rocket was the rabbit car. First time I finished second and some 6 seconds adrift. Close enough to give it a second go without change to the car, especially as I ran wide on 1 corner and took a gravel trap visit.

The second race was fantastic, I loved every second of this event. 5 qualifying laps saw me win from the rocket by 0.7 seconds, having passed him into the very last corner. Please give us more events like these, where the entry requirements are fairly restrictive. Of course you can restrict yourself, but without the competition being as consistent it is tough to match up against them properly.

Had both the rabbi's (Rocket en fireblade). I used my TVR Tuscan Speed 6 with praiano tune and after a first messy lap I ended up first with 2 seconds ahead of the Rocket.

Tried this a few times in the 96 Elise, only managed 4th. I find a couple of the corners really hard, and usually overpower on the exit and spin. Practice is what's needed here... maybe a faster car.

I then tried a few times in the McLaren F1, power at about 50% and some minor tweaks. Came 2nd 3 times. Once again... practice is needed!

Anyone us an Esprit or the Marcos?

Just did the race again in my 2 other accounts with the TVR T350C.
No rocket or fireblade as rabbits, only some lotus cars, easy wins, got 1st in lap 4.
Today i loaded the expert again in my main account (also used for youtube)
And always get the rocket as one of the rabbits.(5x exit and enter)
Looks like the game selects the leaders according to your game progress or experience?
Is this a known item?

O wait, 6th exit and enter, no rocket but the fireblade is there.
gonna drive some, bye

Yeah, Initially got the Fireblade as a rabbit, and found the race too easy. Went back looking for a rocket rabbit, entirely different race. As you said, you have to push it for the win, same as you , had to do a 9.00.00 race to just sneak home. Good fun.

Who was the rabbit in your race? I've been using my 111R '04 as well... love that car. Was able to win fairly easily when the Fireblade was the rabbit, but then I tried again with the Rocket as the rabbit to see if I could do it... I keep coming up 2-4 seconds short. I can see from other posts in this thread that I need to be Pulling 1:34-35 laps to win, and I'm pulling 1:36-1:37. I'm going to see if going up to 520pp gets me those extra seconds... unfortunately I can't seem to do it on skill alone :irked:

Great choice. This is the car I first tried - came in 7th at 50%, and 2nd at 100%. Now to tune it and then have consistent races - lose some, win some.

The Rocket is the choice for an easy win for those finding it difficult - but you must get the field that has Patel and Juarez (driving Lotuses) as the lead rabbits.

If you get the field that has Costa or Papp, you're done for - unless you can clip a full minute off their times.

Because that's the handicap. It's a handicap race, remember?

So I broke out my Evora (as I don't often get a chance to use it in TTs) and golded 1st attempt (no bad rabbits .:shrugs:.), then wanted to go back and give it a try with the 111R.

Settings: Pretty certain (as it's been forever since I plugged in the tune) that it's a Praiano tune I started with. All HP upgrades, trans basic fully adjustable (slider set to 162) added 140 ballast to git 50/50 bringing it down to 514pp

TCS 3
ABS 1
SRF/AS 0

I, of course, get both bad rabbits but figured wtf, go for it.

1st attempt average lap 1:39ish.

3-4 more attempts getting down to mid 1:37s after getting better breaking and turn in points.

5th attempt average high 1:36s and 4 sec behind LCC exiting final turn.

Final attempt a bit more ragged (couple grassy adventures and corners "missed"), but better times (best lap 1:35:xxx). Closed in and passed LCC in second to last corner on final lap (not the best pass, but was a bit jacked being so close lol).

Gotta say, that is my favorite seasonal to date (do love me some Brit lightweights).

I am of average skill set and no one special when it comes to driving ability...

Would you please stop saying that? I know I'm of above-average GT driving skill, and you beat me every time, without fail. You're a bad-ass driver, period!

On another note, I used the '04 Elise 111R and easily beat the Rocket on the 4th lap. Average lap time is 1:35 I think, with a best of 1:31. I know nothing of tuning, so I just took the camber out.

Not that anyone cares, since I'm not a tuner...yet, but I have an overall of 8:41, with a best lap of 1:31.138. I used the 111R and made these few changes.

Car: Lotus Elise 111R '04
Specs: 520 PP / 279 HP / 188 TQ / 750 KG
Suspension: fully adjustable, 0 camber
Trans: fully custom, top speed = 155
Diff: fully custom, triple plate clutch
Power: 98.7%, computer / iso exhaust / sport cat / intake / high-rpm turbo
Body: weight reduction stage 3 / hood / windows
Aero: kit type B / custom rear wing - mount A, wing D, winglet C / down-force on 20

If anyone wants to try, from @Bowtie-muscle Speedshop, Lotus Elise 111R' 04

Tune as it is, just change... the tyres!

Easy, easy win, super fast and huge grip in SH... 👍

I found this tune to be a little more stable, though still have a throttle-on wheel-spin issue. This is probably more of an issue because of my driving style, and the fact that I use a DS3. I also modified it a bit for the fact that we have 520 PP, and I could not get to your trans gearings.

First set of laps netted a 8:36 (5 seconds faster than mine), and a best-of lap of 1:29.841 (-1.297), so thanks for that!
