I used the GTO '84 that I won from winning the Sierra time rally challenge 3. The only changes I made to its tune were within the power category. Take off all the engine mods and then add a High RPM Range Turbo Kit, set power limiter to 99.7%. 550PP 490HP 1,150Kg 413 ft-lb

This car made this race just too easy, seriously. None of the other cars stood a chance as I drifted almost every corner around the opposition with no collisions or short cut penalties.

No Aids. Tune By Me. In P1 Enzo Ferrari. In P2 Ferrari 458. In P3 Ferrari 430. Cockpit View. Laps Of 2:14 Took The Lead On Lap 3. Won Over Enzo By 00:679.

I ran the event this afternoon with my 458 Italia. I had a relatively easy time with the race, until lap 4 when I foolishly went into the gravel on that turn they call "Brundle". That allowed the Enzo to shoot past me and regain the lead. I took it back from him before the end of the lap and then on Lap 5 Mr. Enzo decided to ram me at the end of the high-speed straight half-way through the course. I think they call that Sebring. Where you have to hit the brakes before that right-hand turn and then you encounter that quick chicane. Thankfully he just rammed me straight and I didn't lose control. He seemed to as I was able to really pull away from him.

I can't wait to try this event with some of my other Ferrari's. I'm about to do that once I finish this message. :D

I have a question for you folks... I've been debating purchasing a Ferrari 250 GTO (the $20M car). I finally have almost $30M so I can definitely afford it and not be hurting for tuning credits or purchasing other cars. Is it really worth the $20,000,000? Will I get much use out of it? Please, share your thoughts on the car...

If you are going to buy the Ferrari 250 GTO, I will wait until you get a bit more credits but it is worth it I think but it is a lot of money, but it is up to you what you want to do. About the penalties, if the AI hit my car they don't get any but if you hit them I get slap with a 3 to 5 second penalty that is not fare.

Pretty easy win using the 430 Scuderia I already had setup for 550 PP races. Got it on my first attempt.

I can't remember if what I'm using is my own tune or someone else's, but it was quite tame. (I was actually fooling around with the suspension—which I never do—on the 430 Scuderia, trying to make it less crazy and more like @Motor City Hami's great GT5 tune of the car, though I didn't pull it off. It ended up better but I don't think I'd call it "good.")

I guess the challenge here for the hardcore people would just be trying to beat each other's overall times. If the "aliens" do the event more than once at all. I doubt this event will have the same draw as the Nordschleife one did.

FWIW, my overall time was a monumentally unimpressive 12:14.700 (kinda hard to tell with the replay—I think the last fast-forward "marker" represents when you cross the finish line), with a fast lap of 2:18.095. None of my laps was very good, though. I got a "shortcut penalty" many times for driving straight through those little esses towards the end, and I ended up going wide repeatedly at the turn a couple before the end where it kinks back before a wide left hander at the top of a hill. I'll do the event again, but I may use a different car, even if I didn't really give my 430 Scuderia a good showing.

Thanks for your suggestion on the 250 GTO... I love my Miura (15,000,000CR) and use it all the time. I just don't want to spend 20M to have it sit in the garage, unused because it's not a very good car for its PP level.

Anyway, I don't have a problem with only US being penalized for hitting the AI cars. I think it's good to teach us how to drive without just pushing AI cars out of the way. I DO have a problem, however, when I'm passing an AI car and it decides to turn into ME, hitting me in the rear quarter panel and then I get hit with a penalty. WTF?! He turned into me! Yeah...I think that kind of stinks. I only had one penalty, but still...

I can not get the Ferrari 250 GTO up to 550pp, and I think I am going to use this car now.

Edit: That 20 million car is the race car, you can not use it, and the car you want is only 7 million cr.

No...I AM talking about the 20 million CR car. I only brought it up because we are on the subject of Ferrari's for this Seasonal Event. I don't really care if it can be used in this specific event. I am talking about THIS one.

I just ran the event with my 1984 GTO with a replica tune provided by @Ridox2JZGTE. I made a couple of changes to get it to 550PP, but the suspension, gearing, LSD and most of the rest of his tune was left intact (I removed the addon Turbo Kit). A fantastic drive. Unlike with the 458 Italia that I used my first time around with this event, I didn't really rev the heck out of the gears after 1st and 2nd. This car has fantastic torque and she likes to pull. Very well balanced for this event.

I unfortunately made another mistake on Lap 4! This time I hit the brakes too late and slid off the track after the sweeping left hander, I think they call Daytona. I wasn't able to cut that left hand turn in time... The Enzo took the lead back, but I got him again just after the chicane that starts the laps off. Lap 5 gave no issues and I seized another victory. So far, I am enjoying this event quite a bit. 👍

After reading some posts here and having such an easy go at it with my 430 Scuderia, I got cocky and decided to buy an F430 and see what I could do with it completely stock (with SH tires and no driver aids except ABS1, automatic transmission, and the suggested line).

I guess what I can do with that is lose... badly. Made it into 4th and then totally lost it in the last sector and wasted a bunch of time getting back onto the track properly. Then I screwed up again on the next lap—probably flustered from my previous screw up—and spent even more time fooling around doing idiot-donuts. :banghead:

So... definitely not my best performance.

Maybe I'll try it again with TC1 and SS tires. If I can beat that in a stock F430, maybe then I'll try working my way up to the no TC, SH tires bit again. :dunce:

Oh, and regarding the 250 GTO (which I don't have), you might find this video from Ferrari America inspirational, @ALB123. ;) (There's also a nice one on the 330 P4, if you're looking for a different way to blow 20m Cr.)

Good luck @RobertM525! Don't overdrive the car. Do your thing, but stay patient. It's nice to pass the Enzo on the 3rd lap, but if you have to wait until the 4th lap, so be it... I have no doubt you CAN do it with the F430. 👍 Thanks for the video link too. I'll check it out in a little bit, when I quit GT6 for the night. :D

I just did my 3rd round with this event. This time I used the Enzo. I have to admit I struggled a little bit with the car on the first lap. I don't use it often, so that probably has a little to do with it. I was just not nearly as smooth as I was in my 458 Italia or 84 GTO. I was still able to take the lead on Lap 3 and hold onto it this time. No screw ups going off the track like I did my first two attempts. Best lap was 2:11.xxx with two other laps at 2:12.xxx. Not sure about the other lap times, I exited the event and forgot to look. :dunce:

EDIT: Just ran the event with my F430 Scuderia. Best lap time was 2:11.369, next best was 2:12.426...I think I actually had the biggest margin of victory over the Enzo in this race. It wouldn't surprise me as I just ran the event 3 times in a row and I'm sure I'm just driving smoother.

I have to agree with you, the '84 GTO with the minimal of tuning is fantastic on this track. Loved watching the replay of my silver GTO cutting its way through the line of all red supercars.

I fixed it. It was 1:24.8
Shouldn't that be 2:14:800 ?
Or am I that slow ?
I mean, I lapped a constant 2:14 with the 430 Scuderia (which I know not to be really fast, but that is because I don't really like the track and I don't know it that well) Took the lead at the end of lap 2 and had the Enzo on my tail for the three remaining laps. In the last lap he made a mistake, dissappeared in my rear view mirror, but few seconds later he was clinging to my rear end again  He seems to have magical powers... but I still won by 00,681.

Did some more races with my other Ferrari's, all wins, but every time with a (very) close margin to the second car, no matter what I tried. Third place was sometimes half a minute or more behind...

Used a 430 scuderia and won easily, helped massively when I dodged the Enzo trying to ram me off track, so I won by over 17 seconds. Will try other Ferrari's now.

I wouldn't buy the 250GTO for any kind of serious racing or competitive time trialing - it's not really that fast/competitive.

Where it is good is just free running on comfort hard/medium tyres. With a few minor setting changes it's pretty nice to drive - has a decent balance of grip/slip front/rear.

Is it worth 20 mill? Not really. But then none of the 20 mill cars are worth it from a performance point of view... it's just how desirable they are to you personally. Thanks to the VGT glitch, I have 15 250GTO's, but it's not a car I drive very often... the 365 and 250GTSWB are nicer IMO.

I haven't posted 1984 GTO stock car replica yet ( waiting in my garage  ), but I did post Wangan Midnight 600HP GTO replica that was built for SSR7 / high speed racing on comfort soft :D Really surprised the GTO can lap Ascari and won a race :P

Dang it, I always felt that car was a sleeper, but I'm still surprised at what it can pull out of the bag. Of the five Ferraris in my stable - three are '84 GTOs.

Haven't got to this event yet, though looking forward to it. I'm having too much fun racing Midgets. ;)

Did a quick few races in last night using the 458 Italia then 430 Scuderia I has previously tuned for the 'Ring trial. Got a best clean laptime of 2.05:088 on the last lap using the 430 but the tail is too loose currently hence average lap speed is around 2.08 currently.
Scuderia works better than the 458 IMO, as can keep the power up but weight down.
Ascari one of my favourite tracks especially in a MR car, so going to try the 84 GTO, which I find one of the most enjoyable cars to drive with minimum tuning.

This one was pretty easy - I have an F430 Scuderia @ 550PP and I breezed through the event with clean driving and just a few nice smoky drifts...a bit of a battle with the Enzo in the last 3 laps but this should have been harder IMHO.

Eeek! :dunce: Sorry @Ridox2JZGTE!! I didn't mean to do false advertising for your Garage. I had the tune labeled, in game, as a Ridox Replica and therefore assumed... I shouldn't have done that. Usually I'll provide a link to the tune so people can look at it quickly and I should have in this situation. You know how much I love your garage - I would never try to misrepresent your tunes. 👍 :boggled:

EDIT: Thanks for the recommendations guys... I kind of had a feeling it would be more of a cruiser, @Stotty, but figured I would ask. Thanks for the clarification.

You guys are all making me want to try out the 84 GTO. I've driven almost all the Ferrari's and generally love them, especially the Italia and Dino, but never tried the GTO. I won't be able to try this event until tonight, but maybe I'll start out with the GTO on this one based upon all your great reviews. That's one of the things I love about this game.. always a new car to discover!

I bought a 250 GTO simply because it's my favorite car ever. I've only used it a few times on the race car challenge at Deep Forrest Raceway. Anyway, i had two golds with the 84 GTO today but tried the 458 and got two silvers. The AI was acting crazy too! Cars spinning tunning off the tracks wrecking. I saved two replays but don't know how to upoad them. And that Enzo does seem to have magical powers....

After you pass the Enzo it gets’s a wild bunch of HP.
