Did this in a souped up GT86 anniversary edition.

Anyone else have trouble out of turn... 4? Uphill, right hand turn following a curve. I can never find a good braking point. I either take it incredibly slow, or brake way too late and end up in the sand.

No problem with that from the Toyota though, just faster cars.

A little blocking is fair game when racing the underpowered Midget... Just make sure you don't tip over!
Crazy AI in the California Ferrari tried to punt my Midget about 20 meters before the finish line and instead kicked me under the flag, LOL! Serves him right.:P

With a bit of a power boost the E Type Jag is fun in this race, especially if you don't mind a bit of off-roading. :boggled: (sorry, no epic flying car pic)

Another run with 1M replica, this time with 135i version, at 335HP, 1611kg, 468PP, on CS tire, the 2nd car ( Alfa Romeo 8C this time ) was hot on my rear bumper to finish line, he tried to pit me several times on the last lap, talk about dirty Bob :P  He couldn't get closer on the first half of the last lap. Managed several 1:29s lap at Big Willow :D

Last lap, last half, the dirty Bob attacks :

And I went offroad and tried my best to get back on the tarmac to keep leading :

In some races I wonder if I should have used the dirt tires !! Have done a fair share of cross-country driving in this event.. haha. :dopey:

Having good fun !!

I have been running this seasonal in every eligible car I own. Fun win in the boss 302, seems like every car I ran so far runs 1:19's-1:21's
True for me too. Can't seem to do much better than 1:19, no matter what I do or what I try.

Some cars don't perform well, or I should say I don't know how to tune them so that they perform well. Still, with some cars, I am better off using the dirt tires!! haha..

I've been using this and the intermediate for some miles and Cr... in this one I've been thru a ton of stock american classic muscle, some stock euro cars, and a bunch of 80's and 90's japanese cars as well. One of my favorite tracks, and lots of fun with stock and detuned cars.

Time to try the Midget, it looks like :D

So this is an expert race, eh? Normally they have to be done in expensive (racing) cars tuned to the max and they are still hard. But this time I saw the Mazda RX7 - Type RS-R (FD) '97 in the stock thread and decided to use it. I took the lead in the 4th lap... 3 times. Got a CTS-V and Viper GTS on my tail. The latter decided to slightly push me in the final corner of the last lap so I went off the track, never regaining the grip so I finished 3rd and backwards.

On advice here I used the R33 GTR LeMans which oddly is RWD.

Obviously an easy race but I found that unless you had a continuous high corner speed and got well ahead, the Viper GTS would close you on the straights.

Again I'm guessing this is a 530-540pp Viper so they use overpowered rabbits to maintain pace.

My Ferrari 365 GTB4 replica, 347HP, 1400kg ( max possible, should have been 1600kg ), CS tire, easily lead in lap 4, with lap time at 1:27s low consistently. Beaten various lead rabbit, from Ferrari California, Vantage, Viper, M3, and C7 Stingray.

Did it in the TVR Speed 6 stock so easily, I went straight to a Midget. Gotta admit, that puts a challenge on it. Got 4th so far, but can't seem to catch up no matter what to those first 3. Totally missed saving a great flying car replay too, I was so mad. They punted me across turn 1 into turn 3 flying the whole way somehow and it didn't try to reset me, I just got to keep going. Was hilarious, I wish I had remembered to save it.

Finally got 'round to having a go at this. Without having read any of the posts here.
I usually have to try hard to get anywhere in Expert races, so after looking through the list of suggested cars from my garage I picked a 489pp BMW M3 Coupe that had a Gearbox,Brakes, LSD and Suspension (thrown on when I bought the car) but not tuned.
So I was pretty surprised when I started getting past the other racers. Then found I was in 1st place with a lap and a half to go.
Think this was supposed to be an Intermediate race but got put in the wrong box at Polyphony.

Might start having a go with some of the fun cars suggested above. :)

Wow 1:19? I ran 1:24 trying hard !:gtpflag:

I just ran a few 1:18 laps in the newest z06 with abs only, tried using aids and the car could do high 1:17's, but I prefer running abs only at this track.

I really like the looks of the fairlady, I'll have to buy one and try it out. I suspect the Shelby cobra would probably do very well here

Looking in the classifieds now for a used Sherman tank.

You could try the Jay Leno Tank Car...

Tried the Tank this morning but could get no better than 4th. It's a slippery sucker and completely un-tune-able.
A little more practice controlling the corners should get me in the medals.

Gotta say that I reckon this is the easiest Expert event yet. It's a decent challenge with 500pp on Confort Softs....haven't tried Comfort Medium tyres yet. Ah sure, tis good to have a bitta craic!

After reading your post, I had to give the Tank a couple runs to see what it could do. I had a 3rd place finish, but if I would have kept on trying, I may have had a chance for a 2nd place finish with the field pictured below.

Definitely an idea! 👍

I had two Tank cars in GT5 - have to check my GT6 Garage. This car is quite unusual, and has some odd strengths.

Gad, @DisabledRacer, that is pretty much the fastest field. If Ackerman was on pole you'd have been hard pressed to pull off a win with that field.

Sorry bro, can't push me anymore with this Tank ! Lol

Great job! I have hope now! 💡

It's good that many folk are having fun with this one running all sorts of hardware. But I really do prefer the way it was over the last month or so where I had to spend time choosing the right car, practicing heaps and tuning it to get the win.

After a Corvette AI punted me off the track I took a ride with him in the replay, and as I usually find, he wasn't the homicidal kamikaze I thought he was. He just made a bit of a mistake, as any human might do.

I recently watched back a replay where I thought I'd been unfairly roughed up.... turns out it was me. Wouldn't have happened if we had right wing mirror in cockpit view. I guess 3 screens and 3 ps3's would cure that.
