I had horrible frame rate issues with this one, but Praiano's Nardo tune worked well for an easy win.

The paint chip, Orange Pearl, is also available in the dealership (I don't remember which car). I had two different chips by that name before this seasonal, and I still only have two after winning gold.

Used a nearly stock r35 gtr, had the suspension, tranny, and drivetrain parts but no tune. Golded it with some penalties on each lap, not my favorite track so there was some bumps.

This new PD AI programming of playing dirty on the last laps is starting to disgusting...

Once again, last corner and the 2nd rammed me deliberately... :grumpy:

I used Corvette ZR1 Stock (571pp) on Sports: Hard tires. Passed the leader at the beginning of the 5th lap and he and the 2nd place guy kept up with me the rest of the race.

600PP Evo X. Probably a bit too much considering how slow the AI is across the mountain. Stuck it in the gravel at the Chase, still won easily. Think I ran a 2:06 as a fastest but I did get held up for a bit. Probably could do 2:05, maybe high 2:04. AI cars seem to like to not brake for T2, first lap a ZR1 was in the middle of the track after hitting the wall at 140MPH.

I haven't attempted the Rocket Car yet. That was tuned very recently at 600PP on SS tyres. That should be interesting around Bathurst. Another solid tune (if not a little easy) is the Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car.. Yeah, that should be too easy in all honesty. If you feel up to a challenge, Pagani Zonda C12S '00 or C12S 7.3 on Sports Soft should provide a good race. All the tunes just mentioned are tuned at 600PP so should be perfectly capable.
I also used the Rocket for the first attempt. Lacks a bit on the straights but makes up for it on the twisty bits. By lap 5 I was in the lead before I got T-Boned on the tight left hander after the long back straight. The AI must have been going 180 mph when he tried to make the turn ?? Fun race.

I hate AI in this game. Three times I was first, and three times huayra rammed me, and moved to the second place. AI-cars are hitting each other, hitting barriers, sometimes ever forget to break before corner. But they don't get any penalty. I'm, on the other side, now getting penalty at random time, hit barrier a bit - 5 seconds, light hit on the other car - another 5 seconds, cut border a bit - 10 seconds. And sometime it gives you penalty, sometime it doesn't. Nah, I'll try this event later, may be.
By the way:
I used Corvette ZR1 Stock (571pp) on Sports: Hard tires. Passed the leader at the beginning of the 5th lap and he and the 2nd place guy kept up with me the rest of the race.
this is totally true. Passed huayra on the 4-th lap with ZR1 with engine l3 upgrade.

Managed to win using a maxed out Evo X, even after getting rear ended by the F1 at the Chase twice ( and for some reason I got the ramming penalty) I flew through the corners but only hit 168ish down the conrod straight.

still waiting to see evidence of all these unfair penalties some seem to be whining about.
no vids, no details of car/settings, no nothing...

Tommy Kaira zz2, 598PR
,without aid, first place in Lap 2, careful A.I. It is really dirty, some minor rubbing, penalties 0...Haha

Hope you like

@Mcabro
AT or MT?

If they would just give us grid starts, the whole rubber-banding AI wouldn't be needed

I re-ran the race in the AMG VGT, and I can't believe how much more cornering grip the car has compared with my M3 Coupe, for the same tyres and damn near exact same suspension settings.

@Jbaffoh
every lap I've driven at Bathurst it stutters from the point when you exit "The Dipper" until the slight right hander before Forests Elbow, either online or offline. Made worse with more cars in frame.
The PS3 must just have nothing left to give with the high-def track, premium cars, etc

I had an awesome first race. Used one of the NSX's (forgot which one, sorry!) with one of Shaun's tunes. It was an easy first two laps until I caught up with the first place McLaren. And from then on it was a battle until the last two turns. Won it by a second.

@JaseScott
No aero,
stage 3 weight reduction,
Can still hold it flat through the chase at ~290km/h, but it's hairy.. :D

I didn't look, does the AMG VGT have aero? (that would explain it)

Sounds like it's pretty much the same as the last two Expert seasonals from what I've read here. Morons who miss corners by a hundred yards, wait around for you(yes they did wait in Suzuka but perhaps not this much) and still crawl around the corners. Maybe I'll pass on it or give it a quick go just to see if it's the same. Not going to bother trying for gold (if it's difficult) or supporting what they are doing by playing repeatedly if they don't come up with something better for the AI than the embarrassing mess they made of the last two.

@ddsprayshop: The AI doesn't ever seem to get penalties for hitting you. What tends to happen is that the AI decides what line it wants to take and then if you get in the way and substantial contact is made you will get a penalty as if you were trying a last-second overtake and couldn't hold your line so you pushed your way through. Even though that is not really what happens all the time. Avoiding penalties for contact tends to involve knowing the line they take and being sure to allow for it. It's not perfect, no. I'm not sure I've ever seen a game that really gets that right. The worst is when they make an intentional mistake and decide they are going to overshoot a corner by 75 feet and then ram into you while you are braking for the correct line and you get a penalty for getting in their way. :)
Hi Morgoth, the real challenge is to make sure you get out of their way;)
Check your mirrors and make sure you don't get rammed.

I haven't had any problems with any of the opponents in any of these A spec seasonals.
Its all about awareness and putting yourself in a position to not get rammed:)

The opponents act and behave more like real players than you probably think.💡
Have you never misjudged a corner and overshot it? Have you never rammed into an opponent when they are in front of you ? Have you never pushed too hard and spun out?
I know I have done all of these things :ouch::embarrassed:

That's what makes it so much fun in my humble opinion 👍

Used my 586 PP Diablo GT for the first try. Won the race, but with the challenge of controlling that diabolic supercar.

Average GT racer here, some days maybe middle average.

Souped up a Boss 302 and away we go --- 3rd place is all could muster or my first attempt.
Not my favorite track, in fact one of my least favorite tracks, but mainly cause do not know the circuit very well.

2nd attempt was in the Tommykaira ZZll '00, had an off track adventure as was chasing down 2nd and 1st so finished 3rd. However with some tuning and better knowledge of the track 1st should not be to hard to manage.

Good Job PD - nice set of races.

I think the only real challenge is avoiding the 2nd place cars crazy banzai attempts to ram into you, lol. Used my little VW at 500pp to win all three races.

You're telling me that your VW won this race at 500 PP?? :boggled: How much HP is that thing putting out at that PP level and what would the power to weight ratio be? Unless that thing is putting out an insane amount of horsepower, I'm finding a hard time believing that. I mean, how are you even able to catch the Huayra, that thing has amazing straight line speed, it just pulls away from the 535PP/493HP GT-R SpecV '09 that I am tuning. Yea, I'm able to win, but not without some fancy driving. I just don't see how that VW can even catch the Huayra. I guess that's the next car I'm going to have to try to see whats up with, I must be missing something here.

Slow AI? Haven't you encountered Huyra, Mclaren F1 and TVR Speed 12 ? They catch up like mad and ram my butt at the speed of more than 290kph in the straight, trying to push me off the track.

And, just like Suzuka, it's a good test track but too narrow for comfortable race. Not to mention the unfair penalty and handicap of straight line power we're forced to accept.

Frame rate problem is still there in the twisty downhill, if not as bad as before. I hit the wall once because of the stutter :banghead:

I feel this is different (easier) than the last two expert races because AI goes slowly in the hills so with a car that handles decently, you can pick off many of them in one lap. Of course you still need to watch the mirrors in the heavy braking zones.

What's the average lap time?
11:14 / 5 Laps = 2:14.8sec average laps.

If you don;t know the track have a watch of the video i posted early in the thread and take some note of braking zones and gears used. or youtube other Aussie V8 Supercar onboard laps
Most 6speed cars with 500-550HP and 1500kg will be similar in braking/ gear selection.

There's a number of short shifting points on the track and staying in one gear higher to prevent you from bagging up the tyres as the car get's light over crests or loses grip through turns.
I've watched a few GT6 videos of guys back in 2nd and 3rd gear across the top and being all out of shape, when 4th or 5th is used in real life,
If you're constantly tapping walls and going for armloads of opposite lock across the top, you're not getting the "flow" of how the track needs to be driven.

Some more insight for you non-aussies of one of the best tracks on the planet (which is public road for 50 weeks of the year)

Yea, you're going to have to produce a video or something if you expect me to believe you won this race in that VW at only 500 PP. The best combination I could come up with in the 500 PP range was around 410 HP and that is just not going to get it here. I couldn't even catch the lead 3 cars. The closest I got was around 15 seconds of them, not even close. So, unless I am a total retard here and am totally missing something, I need to see further proof of your claim here.

I won it in a ZZII with Shaun's tune. My last 3 laps were very low 2:06's. I had the Huayra on my tail after I passed him at the beginning of the 3rd lap. I was fast enough up the mountain and down through the Dipper by the time I got to the Conrod straight I was far enough ahead that it didn't give him a chance to ram me. I love this track! On lap 2 I had 6 cars ahead of me at the top of the mountain I rear ended the one in front of me and got a 5 sec. penalty that let them get just enough ahead and I passed them all on the Conrod straight that put me in 3rd. I passed the Ceberra at the Chase and caught and passed the Huayra at Hell's Corner. Great easy win with this car and
Exeter GT Tuning. Thanks again Shaun:tup:👍

Did you try it yet in the car you wanted me to tune for you?
