Yea, it is here for all to read. And yes, I asked for proof, so what. I can guarantee that if I made such a claim, you guys would be all over me to provide proof. Furthermore, I don't need you scolding me on what's rude and inappropriate. I only asked for proof of a claim, a claim I am finding hard to believe. Its not the first time someone asked for proof of something around here.
The problem is that there is no way to tell if any aids are in play and why they need to be removed from the game.

Hi Morgoth, the real challenge is to make sure you get out of their way;)
Check your mirrors and make sure you don't get rammed.

I haven't had any problems with any of the opponents in any of these A spec seasonals.
Its all about awareness and putting yourself in a position to not get rammed:)

The opponents act and behave more like real players than you probably think.💡
Have you never misjudged a corner and overshot it? Have you never rammed into an opponent when they are in front of you ? Have you never pushed too hard and spun out?
I know I have done all of these things :ouch::embarrassed:

That's what makes it so much fun in my humble opinion 👍

Not sure that really sounds like much fun, dodging missiles launched from behind me. Ok it does hold a certain amount of entertainment value(I have done it, I do use my mirrors, and it comes in handy in online races now and then :) ), but I prefer to focus on driving the car and if possible actually racing. I just don't feel it to be a worthwhile usage of my time. There are better/easier ways to make money, and other things that are much more fun for me.

I do overshoot corners(sometimes quite badly) and I do accidentally ram opponents(particularly GT AI cars whose pace I never get used to) and I do spin out. I just don't generally do these things 4 times in 5 laps. The worst GT5 online rooms I was in were never as hilarious as some of the races I saw at Suzuka and Spa... at least not after the first corner. :)

Don't let me stop you having fun, I just don't think that I enjoy doing what these races events ask me to do anymore.

 I won't stop having fun ;). I posted a very poor quality video #71 of my win in a 500pp Scirocco and if you watch it there is no evidence of kamikaze opponents and I assure you it was great fun. Each to their own and your point of view is respected :)

I became curious reading about VW Scirocco R '10 so decided to try and I think any average driver can win using this car at 500PP SS and only ABS 1, no asm, srf, tc, or active steering. Try it yourself.

My total time was 12.04.xx with F1 in second 0.0,086 behind.

Most of the opponents have sobered up and calmed down since the last Expert-level race at Suzuka, but there was still that same lunatic in an LFA with a predilection for flying into sandtraps. he didn't put on as good a show this time as some of the folks from the Laguna Seca race though...

@Mcabro
AT or MT?

If they would just give us grid starts, the whole rubber-banding AI wouldn't be needed

I re-ran the race in the AMG VGT, and I can't believe how much more cornering grip the car has compared with my M3 Coupe, for the same tyres and damn near exact same suspension settings.

@Jbaffoh
every lap I've driven at Bathurst it stutters from the point when you exit "The Dipper" until the slight right hander before Forests Elbow, either online or offline. Made worse with more cars in frame.
The PS3 must just have nothing left to give with the high-def track, premium cars, etc
MT of course hehe

It would appear that the competition within the thread about the Mount Panorama seasonal is more intense than the in-game race itself. It will be interesting to see how this proceeds.
As for the seasonal, I ran it first time with Thorin Cain's tune for Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car. I do enjoy trying several cars. However, I don't think I would have ever thought to try a Scirocco R. I imagine I will get dusted off the course with that one, but you know, we all will have to try it now!

still waiting to see evidence of all these unfair penalties some seem to be whining about.
no vids, no details of car/settings, no nothing...

I was given a penalty for ramming on the approach to Murray's, and felt it was grossly unfair.

However, on viewing the incident with the replay camera, it was obvious that I deserved it since I had squeezed over to the right against the AI car.

BTW, I was in the Lamborghini Aventador which, the way I have it set up, feels loose at speed and under high speed braking. It hits about 206 down Conrod; the Chase requires me to hold my breath to keep out of the grass and sand.

So far I am unable to justify my shouts of "foul!".

I raced in the SCCA for 32 years and now I like the hilarious racing with the AI cars. PD hit it out of the ballpark with GT6 on that front.

Going to go and get me a Scirocco R. Sounds like lot's of fun.

Done this on second attempt. First try got rammed off t he track coming into The Chase.

Won with F430, bit twitchy, but great fun.

:gtpflag:

In regards to those ramming posts, I've actually just bumped gently into cars, gotten a 5 sec. ramming penalty, then on the last lap of the 600pp race, I literally got rammed into the sandtrap on the last turn before the finish, the AI received no penalty, and I had to do the race all over again. Frustrating.

Same here and many times....LOL!

That has happened to me on so many occasions it's not even funny any more.. Not only have i been punted off track but i have also been punted in the rear only to recieve a penalty.. I get hit and i get stuck with a penalty?! Is that fair? Not if you ask me..

In the last A-Spec at Spa, I was pushed off the road from the inside while going around a bend. After being pushed over the ripple-strip, and while merely trying to keep two tyres on the road as the car still pushed me further off the road, I received a ramming penalty.

There have also been times during these A-Spec Seasonals when I've received ramming penalties for the AI's PIT manoeuvres.

I don't think it's likely to happen, but introducing penalties for the AI might reduce some of the frustration.

If you get a penalty, try looking at the replay using the replay and/or exterior camera.

You might find that from a 3rd person perspective, you were actually at fault. Or you might not.

If I receive a contentious penalty, I always check the lap and go to that point in the replay. The above examples are the ones where I still thought the penalty was unfair after viewing the replay.

I also had one on this seasonal for "colliding with a barrier". The only reason there was such a collision was due to the parked Corvette in the middle of Griffins Bend, and the Ford GT going around that. There was no room left for me and no time to stop. The resulting collision with the Corvette led to my car glancing off and into the barrier. This seemed a tad unfair to me, but also unavoidable.

Using my 550 McLaren 12C on sports hard I just had actually fun with the AI, probably the best I've seen from AI so far. I had to defend for 2,5 laps vs. the F1 and the Huayra and it felt almost like racing. At one point at the Chase I had the F1 right behind me, so I braked early to be prepared for a bump. The F1 pulled over inside, trying a pass but running wide. Very nice PD!

The AI seems to almost wait for you until you reach the leaders. Then they suddenly run like 15 sec a lap quicker to give you a fight. Maybe that's the best "racing" possible with the catch-the-rabbit format?

I'm thinking that it's ambitious to attempt to define code which can sort out fault in complex cases. Hard enough for humans!

Seems to me that some people make a meal of these seasonals, or just don't really want a challenge. You don't need a tune for this unless you push yourself in a way slower car like Whoosiergirl (props to you!) I just tried in a vanilla X-Bow Street, had a pretty terrible race and only ended up 4 seconds behind the Huayra, in second.

Best lap was around 2:16 but the other laps were up to 10 seconds off this due to errors and still getting the feel of the car. I know there is some rubberbanding but I have little doubt I can win it in this, keeping the leaders behind me where it matters. They often pull up rather than try to overtake on the straights anyway.

I'm nowhere near a great GT driver, I can always gold events but rarely find myself in the top 5,000 in ranking events. I guess people just like to mess around with tunes, ultimately :)

EDIT: Actually I'm getting used to the car now and running a lot of 2:15s but finding the leaders are bunching up at the front and being a real pain to pass without incurring penalties, still only 2nd! And I realise that a lot of the tuners are going for top times in the rankings, my point is that if you just want to gold it, you shouldn't need something like a 12C tuned to 600pp...
