 about that ^, most of the people on my FR LB are from the No SRF Seasonal Group...
...and they frequent the seasonal threads, they know I always run no aids/0 ABS. ;)

Thanks for the comments. :)

@JogoAsobi Respect to your car control skills.

No driving aids definitely the way to truly appreciate GT6's handling physics. ABS=1 is the only driving aid I'm still using....think it's time I learn & embrace ABS=0.

Cheers mate:cheers:

Don't use the flat floor, it slows the car down to much. I use the turbo and add ballast to the front, ballast helps on the downhill sections and helps keep the tires from spinning to much on the uphill. For 480pp take off rear wing and turbo and draft, draft, draft.

Ahhh...I was wondering why my car didn't feel as fast as I thought it would (considering I was 35PP higher than you). I will remove my flat floor and try again today. Hopefully I can make it a much cleaner race than my first attempt! Fantastic driving BTW...you nailed every corner perfectly.

Hi WhoosierGirl, thanks for the tip. Ballast in front for a FF car is new to me. Will try.

From your stunning replay, it seems your car sits quite low. OTOH, as I looked up the tune by BanditKarter22, it looks plain and simple to me, nothing too radical. Would you mind sharing your tune? (oh, it'd be nice to have more info on the replay, especially how you use the brake... )

I've tried heavy ballast and higher HP to get similar pp, but it runs worse. Inferior in almost all aspects, not even helps in stright line speed. So I get back to light or no ballast. And I've also tried very stiff SR and very low RH, but there seems problem of bottoming out and the car judders around top speed in the straight line, also unstable under hard braking. So I raise the RH and soften and SR again...

Same as Bandit's setup accept no camber, -10/+02 toe and 5/7 brakes. I have 15kg at -5. I did that when trying to manage tire wear in the "S" class races, never bothered to change it. My chassis has been yellow for months, I have thousands of miles and hundreds of wins and don't bother fixing it because I'm not hot lapping it.

Had I thought what I posted the other night would cause such an issue with someone, I probably would have worked on a setup and tried to hot lap it.

I am glad to see that others have found the Scirocco a fun car to use for this seasonals.

Edit,

A big THANK YOU to the person that gifted me the Premium membership yesterday. I didn't even know there was such a thing, lol.

I usually don't care much about FWD cars but this Scirocco is indeed good fun in the hills. Just won the race with it at 500PP, with my own tune. Lap times aren't good (2:18s without drafting) so needed to take full advantage of rubber-banding and a bit of blocking move in the last few corners.

All I can say is, Bravo!!!

Race can be won at 470pp, especially if the Speed 12 is in the race.

Same suspension setup.
No turbo, ballast or aero parts
All weight reductions
470pp 291hp/1,155kg
98.6% only power adders are:
Racing exhaust and sport catalytic
Dirty oil or no oil change

For 480pp just add sport computer and make power 99.2%

You're telling me that your VW won this race at 500 PP?? :boggled: I'm finding a hard time believing that

Yea, you're going to have to produce a video or something if you expect me to believe you won this in that VW. So, unless I am a total retard here and am totally missing something, I need to see further proof of your claim here.[/quote

@joeledward Yes, I am aware that she is a good driver, but she is hardly an alien. Furthermore, yea she posted a screen shot. All that proves is that she won the race. Doesn't back up her claim of winning it at 500 PP.

And, if she gets all butt hurt and doesn't post here again just because someone asked for proof of her claim, then that's on her, it won't be the end of the world.

All that and your not man enough to come back and even acknowledge that she was right. Your some kind of piece of work, if you don't think that last quote doesn't deserve and apology sent her way.

I would love to see a race-off between WhoosierGirl and GTP_CargoRatt.

Hosted by an independent 3rd party, who sets the online race and car restrictions, oversees the race for fairness & clean racing, saves the replays and post videos of the replays here....or a new thread.

Three 5 lap races at three different tracks...2 tracks to be chosen by each racer, 1 track chosen by peers/poll.

Settle this on the track...settle this with ol'fashion race-off....I would love to see this.

I just bought the BMW M3 GTR '03 - It's a car I've been wanting to try and it didn't disappoint. I added Stage 1 Engine Upgrade, Sport Exhaust, Sports Computer and Intake Tuning. Did a Weight Reduction Level 3 along with the hood and windows. Lowered my Power Limiter to 99.3% and raced this car at 545PP. My first race was a disaster. A combination of unfamiliarity with the car and sloppy driving. I tried over-taking where I had no business trying it. I eventually grabbed the lead on Lap 5, but the Pagani Huayra spun me in the braking zone after the kink. I went in the sand and ended up finishing 4th.

The 2nd race resulted in a 1st place finish, but I had to fight for it. Took the lead at the beginning of lap 4, gave it back due to foolish driving on my part and recaptured it for good on Lap 5. The BMW M3 GTR is a nice car!

Tried the unofficial 500±PP FF Challenge in a '95 Civic at 500PP, but had to settle for second behind the Speed 12, having lost the lead coming out of Forrest's Elbow with poor blocking going into The Chase on the final lap. Will have to employ some unsavory racing tactics later.

482pp Honda Odyssey Minivan, I can't win a pp argument, because I have no pp, so please no more pp arguments. :D

I don't like to do the things like everyone... :D
So I decided to give it a go with a different type of car and used the BMW M4 Coupé...
The rabbits were the McLaren F1, Pagani Huayra and Ferrari Enzo, but I won anyway.

Using the VW Scirocco R to beat the AI supercars is great fun!:)

Great idea @WhoosierGirl 👍

I have put the @BanditKarter22 / @WhoosierGirl tune on my VW Scirocco R, and I've been able to win at Mount Panorama with a 495PP tune. Race time was 11:49.xx against a Pagani Huayra.

I think I might be able to win with even more de-tuning because the AI can sometimes make quite a few mistakes which should mean I should be able to go even slower but still win.:)

Thanks for the idea/tune!
Respectfully,
GTsail

:lol::lol::lol:
EPIC comeback!
EPIC smackdown of cocky pp's......with a Minivan:lol::lol::lol:

That's 2 - 0 to you....but I'm still calling out for a proper race-off between you two. Not for pp comparison, of course. :D

@WhoosierGirl Thanks for keeping this thread entertaining & fun with humour, tuning knowledge and driving skills:tup:.

I'm going to go try conquer the Mountain with the Minivan.

@cargorat , " Yea, you're going to have to produce a video or something if you expect me to believe you won this race in that VW at only 500 PP. The best combination I could come up with in the 500 PP range was around 410 HP and that is just not going to get it here. I couldn't even catch the lead 3 cars. The closest I got was around 15 seconds of them, not even close. So, unless I am a total retard here and am totally missing something, I need to see further proof of your claim here".

So why is it that most times there's some negativity going on here, there seems to be the same old combatants at its centre?

On a more positive note, just did the Bathurst 600pp, 1 go win in my one-77. The car is a monster on that track, just too cool. Also a one go win at Laguna in the Masseratti. Don't see these two get many mentions, but with the right tune, they are starships.

On Scirocco, I ditched the flat floor and the pp drop from 568 to 530 or so. And it does run significantly faster in the straight. However it affects the handling. It's not as stable as with flat floor, especially in those left hander sweepers after the top of hill, and hard braking. I have to be more precise to keep the car on track.

On Impreza NBR Package, it's affected so much that it's even hard to drive without flat floor. I made a quick retune - stiffen the front and soften the rear, add some more ratio in decel side of rear LSD, than it's manageable. It's still need more consistence and precision to drive.

Then I tried BRZ, it's not affected as much as Impreza on the flat floor, with 550pp, it's very capable.

Also tried CTR Yellow Bird @ 530pp, very fast in the straight and slippery and fun in the corners.

Except Impreza, I didn't win by all the above. 2nd place at best. With less available performance, I made more mistakes, or can't defend.
