Hi, my first post but been playing for years. Many of the member names I see here I have tried (and failed) to match in skill over the years. So Hi to everyone on the forum.
I have managed top 100 on a couple of occassions, so kid myself I am not too bad. Anything I can use a NSX or S2000 on, I tend to go for most.
I really enjoyed this seasonal and got to like and respect the 'Ring because of it.
I have managed a best time of 6.57 in a modded 458 Italia, but the car I thought I would post up is my time in a Audi B6 S4. I have a Mk1 Audi S8 (showing my age perhaps), so the S4 is the nearest car in GT6 to my daily driver. I normally have it completely standard apart from a 90kg weight increase at 30% back, to bring it's kerb weight upto the S8.
However for this time trial, I thought I'd mod it to stage 3 etc, minimum weight . Can't post the settings as missus is watching telly right now :) but I only use ABS1 without any other aids as I only have a DS3.
Looking forward to putting some more laps in when missus goes to bed and hope this seasonal becomes more regular.
Cheers!

I've only won this once, with the ZZll. I just seem to have hit a block...3 to 7 seconds behind 1st place and no better. Sub 7 minute laps? Sheesh. I havent tried the SLS, I'm going to give it a shot!
Have you tried the McLaren MP4? I scored my first three victories this morning with it. :)

I would imagine the reason you're 24 seconds faster is you don't have any of the AI cars to contend with and get around during a Free Run. I know they blocked me several times during my attempts.

If you own a Nissan GT-R Black Edition, give it a shot. I'd be more than happy to share the exact tune I used, if you don't already have something your comfortable with -suits your driving style, etc.. Several of us have used that exact model GT-R and gotten 1st Place. And trust me...I'm just an average skilled GT6'er - nothing special about my lap times.

are you using a wheel or a game controller ? and what are the settings that you used for the Nissan GT-R Black edition ?

Took my stock Ferrari California, slapped on full weight reduction, sports ECU, racing brakes and sports soft tyres, left the rest stock, quite a bit under 550PP. Under 7 minutes on the first run, 4 leading AI were bunched up just after the karussel, had them dusted well before the final straight. The Ferrari sticks like glue.

This event reminds me a lot of the 550PP Lambo seasonal back on GT5. Same PP, tyres and lap time requirement.

Really ? and what setup are you using ? wheel or game controller ?

So on a random note, how can we convince PD to keep this seasonal around permanently? Is there a way we can send them a petition or something? Maybe we can be proactive about it rather than hope they are reading the forums... But I have no idea how... Anyone?

Just noticed i forgot to remove the camber on the Nardo :scared:,
i lost about a second because of some driving errors but still improved my previous lap
6:34.520

------VW Nardò tune:

ride height: 110/110
spring rate: 9.82/10.75
compression: 4/4
extension: 4/4
antiroll: 3/3
camber: 0.0/0.0
toe: 0.00/0.30

Brake bias: 5/4

Gearing: do the following:
-Move top speed complete left
-Move final ratio complete right
-Set those gears:
1-- 4.562
2-- 3.473
3-- 2.636
4-- 2.116
5-- 1.672
6-- 1.309

Set final ratio to 2.471

Diff: 10/40/20

add stage 3 weight reduction and adjust power limiter to hit 550pp

set aero to 150/220

If you want more stable you can add rear downforce

------Corvette C7 tune from my 6:44 lap:

ride height: 110/110
spring rate: 7.12/7.94
compression: 3/3
extension: 3/2
antiroll: 3/2
camber: 0.0/0.0
toe: -0.03/0.20

Brake bias: 4/5

Gearing: do the following:
-Move top speed complete left
-Move final ratio complete right
-Set those gears:
1-- 3.563
2-- 2.660
3-- 2.062
4-- 1.708
5-- 1.466
6-- 1.268
7-- 1.110
Set final ratio to 2.375

Diff: I used stock but it might trying an adjustable one, didnt spent much time tuning

Add stage 3 weight reduction, Hood and Windows

add 4kg of ballast at 25%

For both cars add all parts except wings, flat floor and rigidity bar.

I wished i had more time to fine tune them, i adjusted them to suit my driving, the nardo require smooth throttle on exit in some area, but you can use throttle to rotate at some area especially the beginning in the ''S'' section.

:)

It would be nice to have these around permanently, but I do not think there is a way.

I didnt expected the SLS to brake that much :(

I think i need to return all my cars to stock form for some reason. It will take a long time. I think the weight reduction is permenant though...

Completely agree. PD could add these events to the Career Mode easily enough. It's just data files defining the parameters. I would love to see this event before a permanent S Class event. I think it's too challenging to put in any lower license class, as if you can't "win" the event you won't get all the Gold Stars to complete the license class, which is one of the goals in Career Mode.

Anyway, the ZZII is a great car for this event. Definitely. I've been running this event and the Deep Forest Intermediate Level event all day. I'll miss these two. Very fun to try out different cars.

I agree. 👍 So far I have tested out and won with over 50 different cars. When I started, I was down to around 15,000,000 credits, now I'm almost at the limit with a little over 48,000,000. When I reach the limit, that will end my participation as I am about to my limit of cars that I wish to test anyway. Plus, I'm going to be moving again here in the next week anyway so I will be offline for awhile until I get settled in my new place.

Adding this seasonal (or both) to the career mode would be a great way to implement them, in my opinion. Career is desperately in need of some challenging events, and while these might not be extremely difficult, one needs track familiarity, skill, and/or a good setup to win, unlike most events where the only challenge is in finding a car that is underpowered enough to even the odds. So yeah, PD would be wise to listen to your idea.

Cargo: I've probably used as many cars as yourself, though not successfully, haha. I will say, however, that my skills on the 'ring have dramatically increased due to this event. I went from dreading the Nordschleife to calling it my favorite track in 2 weeks time, which says a lot about this event. If I wanted to pick up more wins I'm confidant I could have with the high-end detuned monsters, but once achieving the win I went for the old standard models that are rarely used. I now have moved the SVT Cobra, Camaro SS '00, and Toyota RSC suv/crossover into my "favorites". That RSC is a beast with some power upgrades, and I love that it has an option for turbo AND supercharging. In a skilled drivers' hands Im sure it would be much faster, but for me a 7:18 is pretty fast; only GT-R I was able to run faster than this was the Spec-V II Nur at 7:16:xx. It's a shame the old standards will probably be left out of GT7, as there are some gems amongst them.

P.S. Good luck with the move. I don't envy you, lol.

Wow Mike, thanks for the Nardo tune! It's fantastic! So smooth! Really fits my driving style, but since I learned how to drive the 'Ring by watching your replays, I guess that makes sense.

I posted a 6'51.xxx... and I made some mistakes, so I think sub 6:50 is possible... not in the range of your time, but I always feel if I'm within 15 seconds of you on the Ring I'm doing alright ... so I guess I need 6:49 :)

@Pizzicato65 You'll be happy to know that PD has already stated that there WILL be Standard cars in GT7. I don't know exactly which ones, but I would imagine a lot of them. Probably only the worst of the worst modelled cars will be tossed for GT7. :)

@Hotspace 5150 I use a wheel. The Logitech DFGT. I posted my tune earlier in the thread. You can find it posted here: LINK.

@Bluesman81977 Like GBO Possum said, you CAN turn Weight Reduction on and off. Just keep this in mind. If you apply Weight Reduction to your tune on Tab A it will also be applied to your settings on Tab B and Tab C. Likewise, if you then switch to your tune on Tab B and turn it off, it will then be turned off on Tab A and Tab C as well. A little bit of a pain, but at least it's not permanent. :)

That VW Nardò tune is that for a DS3 or a wheel, because I am using a G27 and I got a time of 7:18.xx on my second try with it and thanks for posting it.

This concludes my list of cars and since I have now reached 50 mil in credits and really have no other cars which I am interested in trying, I think I am pretty much done with this one now. Since I am nothing more but an average driver at best, I think its save to say that most of these cars can be used to win this event fairly easily. It has been great fun trying out all these cars and I now know the 'Ring a whole lot better now. Its still not a favorite track of mine to hot lap on, but it is fun when you have the AI in which to chase down. I'll post some of my lap times here later. Good luck to anyone still having fun with this event.

Back a day before this event closes. umpteen 2nds with the GTR BE. Please direct me to the tune for the ZZII? I have tonight and tomorrow. Please. I'm still using the DS3. Just don't have time to unpack the DFGT.

 57 cars later?!

I almost feel bad that I beat this once (with active steering and SRF!) and haven't attempted it since!

Almost. ;) This event still hasn't made me a Nordschleife fan.

A general question about seasonal events. Can I still get the paint chip prizes after the online ranking registration period is over?

My ZZ II has a good tune for the suspension, drivetrain. I need a tranny set up that will give me top end but good pull through the gears. I don't have enough top end. 5 times 2nd by 1 seconds. If I could get fast enough to catch the draft I could win this one. It had a tranny tune and I have played with each try with the same results. I had a line up that I could have won except it just won't go fast enough on the long straight. Please help me.

I like that you used the 427 cobra. Would like to see a video of that. I wasn't able to tame it.

I know I said I was done earlier, but I just couldn't help but do a few more which did include the 427 Cobra and the RUF BTR, another car that requires delicate throttle control. The only advice I can give you is to have a very light right foot. Try feathering the throttle when exiting the corners. Once you get to know the limits of just how far you can push the car, it becomes far easier than you might think. Just start out at a slower pace until you get into a good rhythm. You can also try short shifting to see if that helps you. Just some advice from an average driver until Whoosiergirl can get here with more expert advice and a video for you.

Have you tried the McLaren MP4-12C '10.
