I couldn't even try it. The game froze when I was about to enter the race. I just sat there, looking at a piece of the track and nothing happened. Luckily though, I could pause the game(not that I know how to pause something that isn't happening, but still...) But after I quit, I got the post-race replay of my car driving towards the start  Might try again tomorrow.

That happened to me too. I had to wait a minute for that screen to disappear and it loaded up the race as per normal at that point.

It just does that. wait around 15 20 seconds and it starts, i thought mine was frozen too.

Meh, I hate this track, and chasing down a pescarolo again is wack. Gran Turismo developers, come on now. If this is the best you can do maybe you need some new employees to come up with the most basic of tasks, give us an expert seasonal that is based in reality. Or change the game to say "the fake driving simulator"

We should maybe make a wish list of our dreamed expert seasonals? If PD reads us...

For anyone who has the ability for this track, I have been told that this car is capable of winning this event.

Pescarolo C60 Hybride - Judd '05

Can confirm that this tune can do it - have used it for quite a few events now and it is a good general tune, has a little understeer on the tighter corners unless you are hard on the brakes and can be a little tail happy at times but is very controllable and still adjustable.

For those struggling - the track has a few sections that are difficult (the last few corners aren't what they seem) and you have to treat the jumps with caution (the second one can be taken flat out but beware if you are near an AI car when you do as they tend to get way out of shape for some reason - especially the 787B). You can make up massive amounts of time/ground with late hard braking into the corners. The Nissans are the road hazards (worse than the Deltawing in this race) and if you TOUCH another car (even if they run into you) the boost they get is enough to cripple you. Try and be smooth and tidy and if you can get into first by the 6 minute mark you should do it easy enough to take the last sections more cautiously. This is just a tighter version of the Nurburgring so treat it in a similar manner and with a quick car you can win (my first win was with a total time under 7:40 and won by a very healthy margin, not the fastest I have done but was the first lap where NO contact was made and as a result the AI didn't get there little cheat boost, which can make things like the 88V, Toyota 7 and the C9 uncatchable).

In the GT3 race at Spa I made about 3-5 million Cr two separate occasions and had it freeze up on me. When this happens you lose all the Cr you have earned.. Went from 400k to 5 million then froze. Back to 400k. Needless to say I was not happy.. Happened twice.

Why here?

Getting back to the topic at hand, I wish I used this track more because I love it. But this morning was the first time since it's last event was released. I need to drive it more!

People complain about 700pp. That's nothing compared to F1!!! I watch F1 and my old eyes can't see fast enough. But my 55-year-old reflexes have no problem golding this TT with 12 seconds to spare. I just don't see what the fuss is about.

I think a game like this should push your boundaries in every way possible. Maybe not moon missions (but who didn't emerge more sensitive to weight transfer, etc.), but draw you out from your comfort zone. And, expert races should draw everything out of you!

So I enjoyed this one. I play 20-30 minutes per week and gold every seasonal in the first attempt. But today I spent more than that on just this one. It was nice to feel a challenge again.

How are some of you winning with 7:43 odd times? My best was a 7:19 and still 9 seconds behind, that was with Merc C9 winning.

One is lap time and the other is elapsed time. At the completion of race the game shows your lap time(7:19). When the leader board comes up it shows the elapsed time, which starts when the lead car crosses the start line.

A 7:14 lap time gives a 7:40 elapsed time. Which gets me the win.

It's probably because it's on the Time Rally version of the track, and since it's meant for standing starts at the start line there's no pre-race camera.

But the car is still running, just need to wait for it to get close to the start :)

There's no complaints about the track being to hard or the combo being too fast for people it's just some don't like Sierra and hate the fact that we have all these world tracks that LMP's could race on yet a made up track has been chosen. Plus it doesn't help that quite a few previous events have been 700pp
Also 55? You're still a child!

That's my problem though, the leader board has me at 7:19 and the leader at 7:10. I find if I'm having a "bad" lap and about 10 seconds behind one of my good lap times, I'm still the same distance behind the leader. I use the first bridge checkpoint at about 5:02 into the race as my reference, if I'm doing bad so are they, if I'm having a great lap so are they.

After golding with the Pescarolo I thought I'd give my favourite LMP a go - the Bentley Speed 8.

Its not my tune (but I've altered it slightly) and I can't remember where it came from, so if you recognise it - THANKS!!!
Here's the tune:

700pp
925bhp
914kg
Weight Dist 50/50

Suspension
F/R
90/80
16.53/18.37
4/4
4/4
3/3
camber 0/0
Toe -20/20

Tranny (these are default IIRC - no tranny flip - and I tweaked the final gear to suit Sierra - but it could be lengthened a wee bit more to aid slipstreaming better)

Max speed 224mph
3.103
2.028
1.455
1.097
0.869
0.724
Final gear 3.538

Drivetrain
10
10
16

Power
High RPM turbo

Power limiter - 89.9% (or whatever takes you to 700pp)

Body
Full downforce F and R
Ballast 14kg at -50

ABS 1 and TC 1, manual shift
all other aids off.

It's not perfect but it suits my driving style - and I use a DS3, hence the TC at 1 otherwise I'd be wiping out at every corner!!!
With this tune, the Speed 8 has a much more predictable rear end and is very stable under braking.(though it can still bite you!) It carries a lot of grip and speed through corners providing you change down after the apex. The front end is biased towards understeer (to balance the default twitchy oversteer/rear) but a little lift prior to corner entry gets the nose in nicely - its surprising the amount of front grip it takes when you come off the gas for a split second - saved my neck on numerous occasions!!! It is also stable enough to cope with trail braking without snapping loose mid corner.

It took a few laps to get used to it and feathering the throttle is essential - even with TC1 on! (This car ranks second to the Sauber for slippery rears for me!!)

Discaimer: This tune won't bring instant happiness or gold trophies. Learning the track, learning the car, learning the AI and spending time will do that. The more laps I do, the more I have come to rely on luck with the AI!! (Nudge them a bit before a tight corner and they'll fly off into the sand when they hit the boost button!!!)
But it brought my a lot of driving pleasure in this thing!👍

The big thing that improved my time was working out which corners just needed a lift instead of braking!

Hope it helps:cheers:

I had some quiet time to kill last night, so I thought I'd approach this race open-minded, and see what happened. And I have to say, this is one of the worst races I've ever played on GT. It's not the difficulty, it's the way the AI behave, their blatant bashing, and insane turbo boost is just too much. Since GT1 there have probably been less than 5 races I didn't gold, and only a couple I didn't complete. Count this one among them both.

It's really starting to grind on me now after 8 tries. I just tried the pescarolo and got a time of 7.43 for 4th place. First place had a 7.35 wtf! Guess I just gotta keep trying until I get lucky with the line up.

Edit: Just got a 7.33.945 and I'm 3rd in the chaparral, I'm seeing red now I just can't keep ahead of them on the long straights at the end. This race is a joke.

Edit: Done! 7.40 for the win with the minolta way behind by 9 seconds I think. Took him early in the chaparall, I'd definetely say this was the best car for it. That or the pescarolo.

can someone tell me about driving settings especially ASM setting will be ON or OFF????

Personally, I drive with every assist turned off, except for ABS which I set to 1. Those driving assists, like ASM and SRF, are completely unrealistic. I want as much control over my vehicle as possible. I have even started turning ABS off completely on older cars that do not have ABS systems. You might struggle at first, but trust me, you will become a better driver if you don't rely on driving with all of those silly driving assists turned on.

Uh, wouldn't the fact this track isn't used for any LMP car racing make it an original idea?
I like it!! Still haven't placed any better than 3rd and I have no problem with that. Haven't driven the Pesco, Minolta or Sauber yet,, trying other cars I think I might have a chance with first. This one as have the last few EXPERT 700pp events will test us. They should test us,, and that's GR8!! Good on ya PD!

EDIT: Finally, after 3 days jumping in different cars I got the win by only 1.31 seconds driving the R92CP '92. I had GR8 success using this hotrod in the Vintage Quick Match when it was available and knew once tamed it could whup up on the field as (with my set up) hit nearly 240mph on the straights, almost 15mph faster than the other cars I tried. I'll be continuing with other cars just because I really like this event and am one happy camper PD gave us this challenge. Those off you who haven't yet been the first to the finish,, keep on keep'n on!! You'll get 'em!!

Count yourself lucky, for me the AI have been running 7:25 or better on every attempt I've made. it don't matter which car I try, my times have been in the 7:40 range but I have been losing by 30 seconds +/-. :dunce:
