The Minolta surprised me a lot! Praiano's tune - small adjustment to the final gear for the circuit and TC1. I tried TC0 but it barely takes any input from my ham fingers to spin it out!!! It felt slower than the Bentley but overall it was faster and possibly easier to control.đź‘Ť (And I didn't touch any AI - I hung back and overtook them where I could with ease.)

Though there is a difference in the overall times
Lap - 7:09.328 (That's fine as the clock starts on the Start/finish line for this one)

Total time on 2nd pic - 7.39.xxx
Time on leaderboard (1st pic) - 7:36.011

Hmmm.:odd:

Count yourself lucky, for me the AI have been running 7:25 or better on every attempt I've made. it don't matter which car I try, my times have been in the 7:40 range but I have been losing by 30 seconds +/-. :dunce:

That is definitely strange, the fastest I saw in 10 races or so was around 7.30.

This is so ridiculous....

I had played for almost 6 hours, but I STILL GET BRONZE ONLY (with 2X and LM55).

Those AI are so insanely fast at the final part of the track (begin with a downhill),

and they always bump into you!! Which can make you out of the road.

That is really annoying.

Who do they think they were? A Tank or what?:banghead:

It took me three tries to get gold on my main account and two tries on my alternate account. In all 5 runs, I was in first place at some point, but I either made mistakes or the Minolta overtook me near the end.

The one aspect that both of my gold runs had in common is that I hit none of the AI. Once I won by 12 seconds, the other was by 9-10 seconds.

The worst fight I had in this seasonal started after I rear-ended the Sauber. He went ballistic, and his buddies were like a swarm of angry bees.

So other that driving fast in a well-tuned car, I think the best advice is to drive cleanly and slip past them while they're busy texting or whatever it is they do before you get their attention.

Got it after a couple of tries. Used the Peugeot 905, tuned myself (well i just adjusted the toe angle to get some oversteer). This car reaches high speeds really fast! Time was 7:45, and i took it easy once i passed the Toyota 7 (the first car on line) since i'm a master of screwing up, so i could have done slightly better. Still finished 6 seconds ahead of it.
I'm really compelled to use the Chaparral 2J but it won't be easy...

Congrats on the 905!! Good stuff!!

Anyone had success with the 908 HDi FAP Oreca Matmut? I've tried it with a basic tune and it's hitting 7.18mins for 4th. I'm sure with the right field and a bit of AI madness, a win is possible.

Just a thought: does hitting one AI trigger a boost in all AIs for a period of time?

I will also say this. The one that i won on i did not touch one AI car ever. The ones i did or trade paint on i didnt get past 8th. The AI boost and downforce is crazy when they get cut on but if you stay away from em youll see em start to slow way down in the latter half of the track.

I haven't tried this yet- real life has been getting in the way, as I'm moving across the country shortly, and haven't had much stick time at all. But, I see how difficult this one is for many people, and I keep thinking,

"you know, I have the first 2/3 or 3/4 of the track memorized like the back of my hand because of golding the final Sierra event...I bet I can do this despite my lack of experience :)"

I'll probably change my mind on that after the first 5 attempts or so, but as of now, I want to WIN this one. lol. This course is by far one of my favorites.

I don't know, but sometimes it seems like it.

When I hit the Sauber, he was relatively slow and it should have been an easy pass. Then he took off like a rocket. When I finally caught him again, he was sparring with the Minolta. I slipped past both of them, and the Minolta was crazy fast! I held him off for a while, but he kept bumping me and driving me nuts. Eventually, he got by me and won by about two seconds.

Well, i only finished a couple of races (the ones i screwed up i just restarted), and got no less than 4th place.
Maybe because i kinda know the track because of the many MANY frustating attempts of getting gold with that Ferrari GTO...

At least the ones i got the 4th place i was so behind the third it isn't funny lol... like 11 seconds behind.

Also the only car that was always giving me some trouble was the freaking Bentley. That car flied through the track as soon as i drove through it. EVERY. TIME. It was until i got past the next car, then it finally slowed down... then i hit the wall or lost control on one of those jumps the track provided me with (and that LMP/Class C cars loves) and had to restart over...

Ryk
Had a fun run in a JGTC car - The winner posted a time of 7m38.4 - AND they get a 28 second head start - the second placed car was 12 seconds behind the Pescarolo C60 Hybride - So if you can pump out a 7m10 lap In sunny AndalucĂa. It is easy money.
&
7m10 equals 139 to 140 mph average speed. If anybody cares.

LM55 is a good car to use,
I would of won this like an hour earlier if I didn't either
A: Spin out
B: Get blocked early
C: Break Checking AI
D: All the above.

Just glad I am done with this one.

Also I had this won like 3 different times if the AI didn't break check me into ramming them then I end up going from -0.133 to +5.6xx
Really?

In GT5 the Burg was the hardest track. So hard that PD actually had a mini game that broke up the track into 5 or 6 sections so you could learn and even memorize it. After playing that mini game a couple times and lots of racing the Burg, I go quite good at it. When it shows up now at any PP level I know I will easily win. However, you couldn't even do a mini game for this track, hence you could never memorize it. If they made a mini game for this track, they'd have to break it down into 25 sections that all look exactly alike.

I whined that the expert tracks were too easy, but I wasn't asking for impossible. How an expert version of Le Mans, Silverstone Grand Prix, or Mount Panorama? These are all expert tracks that would take a few tries and you'd have to find the right car/tune. I see a few of you have won this event. You are GT6 Gods!!!

Anyway, just my two cents. I'll wait two weeks for seasonal races. Gonna try my first Quick Race.

Not really a mini game, but the Sierra Time Rally event has the track broken down into the four sectors for practice. You can bring any car you want.

Come on Chris, you can do this one!!!! If you view it as a time trial and complete every lap, then try and better your lap time, you'll learn the track in no time:tup:

Twitchy rear but copes with half throttle mid corner. Nice acceleration too. Slow in fast out, use 1st gear for only the tightest corners otherwise 2nd gear will maintain good mid corner speed.

Um, so too with sierra. I ever took advantage of it, but I should. It's a great track

Since I couldn't win with the LM55 I will give my newly bought Minolta a shot.

Toyota TS020 is mega fast at 700pp. Just have to learn to control wheelspin. Its nearly untouchable on the straight. Came in 2nd to the C60 thanks to the bump, hitting the rocks on the fast left after the last bridge.

Anyone one this yet? If so can you tell me what car and tune you used? I see someone named Denezin won.

I just don't understand why people are whining and complaining about this event!?
This is just a game and meant to entertain us, and this event entertained me a good deal!
I'm not asking to make it as close to reality as possible, I just want to have fun out of it and that it did.
Those who hate the track or the event are not obliged to take part, keeping in mind that there may be others who enjoy it!

First of all it depends on which set of opponents you draw, there are different sets of opponents each time you leave the event and re-enter. Some sets of opponents are hard to beat (or not to be beaten at all).

After some trials and errors I found out (for me) that the best car to beat a beatable set of opponents is the Mazda LM55 Vision GT, and so I did win (after several failures) by 3,5 seconds.

After all, I had a good time of entertainment, better than watching CSI-Miami or some other crap for hours.
I also can't confirm that the AI's behave differently or badly if you bump into them (which I did quite a few times).
Ahhh and something else for the Youngsters: I'm 64 ! :D

Here's my race (7:14,800) and SetUp:

There is a version of the Sierra Circuit broken up in several (4) mini-sectors to train and memorize the track.
just go to "Sierra Time Rallye" (to the right of the "Goodwood Festival of Speed") and chose "Training".
The track is broken up in 4 sectors + 1 complete round.

I used the Chaparral 2X because maybe I wanted to see how the car would actually race (only used it during the Vision release challenge) or maybe because I'm not playing with a full deck. I eventually beat it after sleeping on it and remembering to be as fluid as possible and to take corners as aggressive as possible. This car likes to slip in sand, good lawd. The car handled better than I expected and with the lower PP it felt really good slinging it around in some corners.

Other than that, it felt good to have this one behind me.

For a fun track that doesn't have any replay earnings, I was so disappointed that PD used it for a 700 pp event. What a waist of what could have been some fun racing in mild cars. What happened the actual rally events? Those were very enjoyable, but I always hated that they were one and done. Hopefully PD will give us more actual rally events on Sierra, rather than this 220 mph nonsense.

Ran it tonight. Have to be on it and stay with it. Couple of good tries. First at 691pp no turbos. Was 5 then 3 sec behind first. Then added turbos for 700pp.

Had some time lost in a few spots and held up by the c9 in another. Plus the first and third jump. Geeez. Out of control!!
Can go a lil faster, run the others and more of this tomorrow....

Full aero-minor lsd tweek-mid turbo 700pp. No real tune.

It took a few tries but I finally managed to win (beating the Pescarolo C60 rabbit) using only ABS 1 with my trusty MINOLTA Toyota. I think I will give a few others a try to see how many can win without aids.

This is the setup I used. (I started with Praiano's setup but made several changes, mostly to compensate for no traction control).

E God =O <3

well 2X is a very good choise for this one, last night tried several times and it was good, unless i ride like a drunk, still could get 2nd place +6sec. so if you do a relative clean lap you should win this one.

I think you're right. This could be the troll car - golded it in the 2X on second go - was in first place by half way round! Just can't keep it on the road on the long lefthander near the end. Once you come off throttle all downforce leaves the room!!! I'm impressed at how driveable it is at such a low pp and max weight!
