Maestro. Drumroll please..... (((((DRUMROLL)))))
<---Ist place for GOLD. Yup. Just tried it again with the very Chevrolet Chaparral 2X, tune by Brewguy44 and pulled it off.
First time ever placing far more getting Gold in one of the Expert Level seasonal races. That Chaparral 2X VGT is one sweet car. One of the best if not the best in GT6 IMO.

Now for the speeches. I would like to thank God first of all (you know they always begin with that) and my family for their continued support over the years (just kidding).
Who I really want to thank is you all for your advices and words of encouragement when I was literally catching my behind in the prior Expert races. I might have easily just bypassed this one due to prior experiences but decided to give it a go.

Also special thanks to the hard working tuners on the forum who graciously share their tunes which make invaluable differences between winning and losing. *Takes bow and leaves the stage*
Cheers all. You are the best.

Not much to tune in the 2x, maybe brakes to 6/6, 58% power 200kg ballast shift it a bit to suit your style.

The car makes it simple as there's no such thing as wheelspin and that cornering and braking is otherworldly.

first shot second with a gap of 0.295. But with a horrible second lap 1.21 with a nearly spinout on the last right corner.
So its possible.
But this one has a lot of wheelspin through the first 3 gears. it recommends more throttle control then others. maybe i can figure out a better setup to fix this issue. otherwise you have to be carefull on cornerexits. clearly open the steering a bit before accelerating to much.

ok won with this.
racewinning overtake in the middle section of the 5th round.
total time 8.17 that schould be enough for the event.

setup as follows:
80 82
17.95 19.50
4 4
6 4
6 7
0.0 0.0
-0.15 +0.55

340 kph autosetup

LSD:
10 40 20

Power:
Turbo for high RPM

Downforce:
500 725

i used AS strong, TC off, ABS 1, SRF on

good luck

This may have something to do with my best finish of 7th place so far:

Thx, Nihamavasa. Will try using your setup. Yes, this car has a tendency to spin (even with SRF on). For some reasons, it just does not have the smooth turn in or exit typical of imp cars, such as Peugeot 908 or Mazda 787.

Setups should not include a lot of camber so you can get pointed quickly out of these slow turns with higher than normal 1st through 3rd gear ratios to prevent wheel spin & rev limiter from kicking in.

Thats right as far as i know /figured out for me/ camber should not be used at all for its not working properly.
To prevent wheelspin i use the toe setting on rear and front.
Or even by setting LSD torque for acceleration higher of only one rear tyre is getting hot from spinning.

To much toe in front leads to too agresive turning into the corner so the rear cant handle it and breaks out. A bit front toe helps a lot to come into the corner more smooth.
The rear toe helps to get the rear stable especially while accelerating out of the corners. To much toe leads to understeering.
I dont know the effect on endurance race for i never tryed out. Normaly increasing toe should result in less durability of tyres for they are scratched a bit sideways all over the time.

For me as basic settings i use something about -0.15 front toe and +0.35 rear toe . this allready works fine for most FR - Types. MR-types may have a bit more + on the rear. FF-types use a lot more - on the front to turn in anyway.

Thats how i figure out what fits to which car.

Pescarolo C60 Hybride-Judd '05.Cockpit race. Clean race. No aids. Tune by me. P1 Toyota 7. P2 Mercedes-Benz Sauber. P3 Pescarolo C60. Pass for the win on lap 4. Fast laps of 1:16/1:17. Winning margin 9.934.

Care to share your tune? As you can probably see from my earlier tune I struggle a bit with the handling in the Pesky.

On my first try with no experience on the track I won using the Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo tuned by Priaino. Being as it was my first try, I did not drive well but the car and the tune won it for me easily. Hope this helps!

Settings for Pescarolo C60 Hybrid-Judd ’05. With this setting you can run 1:16,1;17 laps all day long. The trick is to make sure that the rear wheels are not spinning during throttle application. Best way to learn is right at the start of the race when the green flag drops. Apply the Throttle making sure that the rear wheels are not spinning. Same thing coming out of all the Red Bull Ring corners. Stay away from the corner strips as that will also slow you down big time. Go slow into the corners and come out fast always. Remember that the corners before all the straight’s are the most important. Always pass on the inside. Last the fastest laps are the one’s when you feel that everything around you is going in slow motion.

So this was fun. Took a couple of aggravating runs with the Bentley, and after reading up here, decided to hammer it out with the 2x. Took me a few tries to get a handle on all the braking zones but finally took gold. Thanks to all that posted results, advice and tunes..good stuff.

Had a go at this with the Bentley Speed 8 yesterday. Managed a second, about 3 seconds off the lead. Gonna have another go at it with the 2j now

Edit: Victory with the 2J! made pass for the win on lap 5, then almost blew out by spinning in turn 2 on the last lap. But I held on!

Thanks for the tune and the advice! I'll give it a go when I'm on next! :)

Sir Nihamavasa, I have now tried using your BMW lmr v12 tune for the seasonal event. The car is indeed much tamer in the 2 hairpins, especially on corner entry. During exit though I have to change my driving style a bit. Instead of slamming on the throttle on exit, one has to gradually increase the throttle to avoid spinning. In that aspect, it behaves quite like a RR car (eg RUF RGT) where aggressive throttle on corner exit guarantees a spin!

Further, I notice the driving line is slightly flawed at the Rauch left-hander. Instead of early apex, one needs to take a late apex because of the reducing radius!

Am now able to win the event with a comfortable 8s lead over the rabbit Minolta and overtaking all cars at end of the 5th lap. Thanks again for the v helpful tune!

glad to hear about this.

your totally right. this v12 recomend a bit more throttle control on corner exits and even on straight if spinning out isnt a problem any more but the wheelspin itself. I also try to counteract by getting the apex more late and therefore comming out of the corners more straight, just as you explaint.

while your getting more used to it you may want to reduce reartoe step by step as long as it feels safe enough.

thanks for your reply

Sorry, just check that the left hander is called Pirelli rather.

Weird how this map calls the corner you're talking about Rauch:

And this one calls it Pirelli:
red-bull-ring.jpg

They've both got different numbered corners and different names for a number of those corners...

This afternoon, made a few sessions with the green Pesco. Made 7:50 races.
1:11/1.13 laps. Wonderful car. That poor Toyota was 30 seconds behind me

Just tried the Chaparral 2X VGT with the Brewguy44 tune and happy to announce I got a 3rd place finish. Best car and tune for me thus far. Man that was one exciting ride. The burst of energy is amazing and so is the cornering ability.
Happy camper. I'll be trying again to best that. Had loads of fun.
Try the Pescorolo, Its easy to handle.

Tried a few cars for comparison..

Mazda LM55 1.16 won first try. Best handling car.
Peugeot 905B 1.17 Took 4 attempts to get the win after tuning.
Pescarolo C60 1.17 won first try. With tuning a lot of room for improvement.
Chaparral 2X 1.15 won first try but very poor handling.

Bit frustrating with the >15 second swing between different fields of cars. Ran it in my 908 and got quick fields each time, then ran it in my Toyota 88-CV and won my miles, could've won in something as slow as a R390 at real world HP. Would've preferred to have had the option of different tyres too, RH just don't feel right on modern prototypes.

Tried with the Pescorolo but fought for the win. Most I could do was 2nd with it.
The 2X Chaparral is much more responsive, quicker and better including handling IMO. Got first with Chaparral many times.

Hello everybody!

First, I'm not a very good driver. In TT I always end up in the 1000 places and more.
I'm still using a dualshock (grrrr!).

Like most of you won easily with the 2X. Same with the LM55.
So I decided to give the Peugeot VGT a try.

This is my setup for a wonderful ride with this car.

Peugeot VGT
setup as follows:
115 - 100
10.60 - 14.02
4 4
4 4
4 4
0.0 0.0
0.0 0.0

Downforce:
400 - 400

Hope it can help somebody. And nice meeting you ;)

I like the suspension settings. I like a car that is at least a little loose. Do you have a transmission or differential recommendation? The diff set-up can make or break a 4WD car.

And Welcome.
