The AI is bonkers. Four car pileup in my first attempt (bone stock TS030) in turn 1. I had to watch the replay, it was so comical. The lead car, the Mazda, clipped the apex of turn one at 132 mph. The other three behind him followed suit, divebombing the tire barrier. I passed them all and finished 4th. It would be a very good challenge winning with that car. I shall try and try again.

Yeah, what the **** are these AI drivers doing?

Anyways, with an optimized LMP race car (check GT6 tuning forum), anyone should be able to win this race. I used a 908 with this tune (http://praianogt6tunes.blogspot.com.br/2014/01/peugeot-908-hdi-fap-total-10.html; power detuned to 700 PP) and I was able to win by over ten seconds, even though I did make a bit of mistakes.

Thanks for sharing this tune. 👍

Can't get the link you posted to work for some reason.
The OP has been updated with a working link for the tune. :)

Won it with a tuned TS030.

The AI is so dumb, but also gets in the way far too much and when I can't avoid them I get a collision penalty or ramming penalty of 5 seconds, yet when they brake check me on the end of the main straight they just keep on going as if nothing happened at all - no penalty for them.

I also noticed some other weird behavior - cars just almost stopping for no reason at all as if they had been given a penalty. Also lots of terrible driving - excursions into the grass, missed braking points and quite aggressive defending and that's the AI as well, it felt like I was in an online race in a public lobby.

Those collision panalties really suck don't they, It drives me nuts that you get 5 seconds because the AI slows down way to much for most corners and most times just as you're about to pull out to pass into the corners.

I do like how the AI actually seem to race now though. I like how they defend their places and cover the insides coming up to a corner and like the way they do sometimes attack back when you get passed them. It's far better than before when they were all lined up and did nothing but circulate, it adds an elemant of racing and I find that to be really enjoyable.

Not to mention how much fun it is to watch them scrap it out between themselves and take each other out from time to time.

r10 TDI stealth 650 pp nice drive.
AI last chicane shortcut to stay ahead on 4th lap, no penalty ! :lol:I probably had a penalty on every lap except last.

TSO30 , more fun competition wise

Total walk in the park with @praiano63's tuned Pescarolo C60 Hybrid Judd '05. :)
Same drill with as Suzuka, I just gave AI plenty of room for their antics. :sly:

I am pretty sure most of @praiano63 700PP race car tunes will easily get you gold.

Nice little credit grinder to try different lower PP cars out with, don't expect much else.
Anyway, will be nice to rack up credits for running a favorite track with a race cars. 👍

I use a wheel, no power assist, no aids, 0 ABS.

Yes, I agree its really kind of irritating...
...after a couple of those, I just don't deal with them in the turns.

Used the Audi R8 race car '01 as it came up top on the eligibility list.

Having not driven anything faster than GT3 for a while, it took a lap to adjust. Just when I was getting on top of things, 3rd place pits me like it had red and blue flashing lights and I had a gun out my window. I decided to quit and go again.

Next race, I received a penalty for rear-ending a vehicle that appeared to be coming to a stop. After that, it was fairly smooth sailing until I reached first and from that point on, the entertainment was watching second place in the rear-view mirror. When an AI car shoots through corners like that, how long until it eventually T-bones the human driver in front?

I do wish these new races used the Performance Difference Bonus like in GT5, would make want to repeat them more. They are still fun to do, just wish you could use your skill to earn a bit more.

I also used the R8 Race Car for this, still my #1 race car. 👍

 What's going on with the AI? I just had two attempts at this, came second both times because I keep getting taken out by the damn AI. All this overshooting and making mistakes that PD have added is a silly idea, it's ok if it happens in front of you but if your in the way then it's race over. I got punted up the rear twice on my first attempt and just now one of the AI behind me decided he wasn't gonna bother taking the last chicane and just straight-lined it right into the side of me. Also the Minolta AI driver seems to enjoy driving everywhere at half-throttle and slowing for non-existent corners

Besides the slowing for non-existent corners, I like that the AI behaves this way. It makes the races so much more interesting than the old tied together AI from previous games, where none of them ever took a chance to pass another and everyone slowed down way too much for the corners. I think it adds a little "realism" to the game.

The guess here is that these Seasonals are test mules for AI adaptations, particularly preparation for B-Spec.
I like that they're less on rails. But they shouldn't be driving as though they're very low level B-Spec Bobs.

I've liked it up until today, I've never been taken out by an overshooting AI until this event. And it happened quite a few times. I don't know, in this event it seems to be worse. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Glad I've golded it now though, hopefully the AI/rolling roadblocks will continue to be refined

I was taken out on at the last chicane of lap 4 by an Audi R8 LMP. Had to go in Reverse to get righted.
Got passed by a group of 4 cars, led by the Mazda.
The Mazda does not brake at Turn 1 and drives right into the barrier.
The 3 cars behind him all do the same thing, all piling into the back of the one in front. I pass them all back.
The only position I lost in it all was the one to the R8.

Had a great battle between a Gallardo in the intermediate race with a stock jag xkr or something. I think the highest pp car I have is the anniveraire edition of the Audi R18, so I'm going to buy a race car now.

Funny Fact: was doing La Source, minding my own business, when all of a sudden, a BMW V12 rammed from behind and send me out of track... :dunce:

A little realism to the game?......are you kidding me? They're driving around like they're friggen drunk. I was slowing down for the tight corner just before the chicane at Apricot Hill and he rear ended me so hard that if I would have had false teeth, they would have for sure come flying out. As it was, it scared the 🤬 out of me... BANG!!!! (*Roomate - "What the hell was that noise?)

Not seen a lot of Jean-Alec Verne and Pastor Maldonado racing then?! That's exactly what they're like in F1 cars:lol:

But seriously. Yeah, they all seem to have issues with the hairpin too, I sat behind the two LFA's and GT-R Black edition on the way down the hill, waiting for them to sort it out for themselves and every one of them tried to out brake the other....That'll be me in the lead then:lol: It's almost like they're using level 1 B-Spec guys from GT5 to drive the AI Cars.

But yeah, probably the wrong choice of words! My point was, it's a lot better than the old 11-15 car convoys we had to deal with before, when no-one would even have a look at doing anything other than circulate....slowly. It's a step in the right direction at least and I like how it gives us something to think about, pass them in the wrong place and there's almost always consequences.

Just got done doing another race here and all I can say is the AI are absolute cheaters. Had the lead on the last lap coming to the chicane and here comes the AI, completely short cutting the chicane to take the win....what a joke. Anyone that says the AI is new and improved needs their head examined, seriously. Mario kart at its worst.

Won it with a stock TS030, nearly didn't as the Toyota Minolta that I just passed for the lead before Les Combes decided to ram me straight off the track. Fortunately he went off at the next corner so I got the lead back. The AI is really slow, but seems to drive all the way up to a corner then decides to brake at the apex so they just go flying off into a wall. Not sure what is wrong with them, but most of them will do it throughout the race - the R92CP in my race got stuck at the last corner for 30 seconds just flooring the throttle against a wall.

Got rear ended too, on the only race I managed to get in lead just on the last lap... So lost with 2 secs between me and the lead 🤬 Tried 3 times after with few different cars if i could find more reliable car but no chance, either spin out or pushed out by AI.

To me they don't seem like they are driving more realistic, just that they have been programmed to overshoot braking, go out in exact same way on same corners etc. Looks like their "rails" have been programmed to look like they have human-like errors in them, still they drive just as much on rails as before but less realistically. Also I think the AI should have to suffer same type of penalty for these rams and going out of the track etc. like the player has. Seems quite unfair that AI can ram other cars/you without penalty but you can't.

I would've preferred the old AI, atleast you could race with them knowing what they'll do. I like to believe that is how it would be in real life or else you get penalty.

Hey what do you know, @iainoflo85 was right! It is just like an on-line public room.
