My best is 1:23. The laser is not only pushing the car forwards but it's also pushing it down, so you need to accelerate through the corners to get the most grip out of the car. Brake a little more before the corner than you would in a normal car, so you get more space to accelerate through it. You can't go full throttle through every corner though, but try to always keep a little "gas" (well, laser).

I ran some 1:22's in the draft with the Minolta, and 1:23's straight.

I know the trick of the 2X, I just can't get used to it. If you remember the seasonal we got that car with, it was one of the hardest I have ever completed. I almost gave up, and feel I got lucky with the gold. I tend to pick cars that suit my driving style, and tweak the tunes for it as well, instead of learning how to drive each car well. I learn them somewhat, but I'm only truly comfortable in my own skin.

The Minolta with a Priano tune is the car for me, it rotates much better than the Judd, and way better than the 2X.

What is Priano tuned? Can I have that please!

I too lost with the TS030, Judd, and 2X. Try the Minolta with the Priano tune, it'll run 1:23's, 1:25's easy, and will get you the gold.
Thanks, I will try the Minolta today.

I've been winning with the 905B pretty consistently but very marginal wins, getting pushed right up to the finish line. The Pesci can go like hell but won't rotate with a damn. The 787B, my favourite car seems to need a little bit more jam to get the win. The 905B skates around the course but needed a teeny bit of camber in the tail to tame the stepping out for a coffee break. For me this race is accomplished in an "all eyeballs and a$$holes" mode, a very trancelike state of excitement.

I was kind of worried that I was getting too old for this Seasonal and was pleasantly surprised to find myself winning on the second day with the 905B, and then the Pesci. WHEW!! 72 and still ROCKIN'.

Tokyo backwards sux balls. it's more like a wall banger fest than a race. Squeeked out a win in the C60, default tune with a mid turbo upgrade. passed the minolta and other C60 mid way through lap 5 and held on for dear life blocking all the way down the straight. won by 0.8 seconds. With the trusty 787b stealth i could only finish second.

I have yet to try this week's seasonals, is this one harder than the new year 691pp event at Daytona?

much harder, the cars at the start rocket off leaving you behind, run pretty fast and the AI is aggressive. like there late for work or something.

Daytona took me about 25 tries, I don't know if I'm going to give this one a go or not. lol

I used the 787b "no tune", only PP upgrades and transmission set. Man that was a frustrating race, i swear the Speed 8 hates me, i got spun so many times on T1 by him. Leading car was C60 (not sure how the lineup is here). AI was bonkers :D

I had never used the Judd, but after reading that people here were successful with it I slapped on the Praiano tune and won on my 3rd attempt with another Judd as the rabbit. I won by 14 seconds which is really surprising because I'm terrible in Tokyo forward and assumed I'd be even worse in reverse (accidental poetry).

So if you're havin problems, try the Judd with Praiano's tune. I'm an average driver so most everyone should be able to win if I can pull it off. Thanks to everybody who recommended the Judd.

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend and remembers those who fought and died for our freedom. Without them we might be celebrating the Holocost under Adolf the 3rd. God Bless America!!!

Laurent's Pescarolo rocks 👍

So far, I have found the mazda LM55 to be the best overall car for this race. With a little tweeking, it can be made to behave flawlessly around the track. The main straight speed is around 340-50 k and none of the others are anywhere near it in the corners. Very satisfying to run clean races. The AI do their very best to trip you up at any given time, with a full range of tricks. Really enjoying this one, reminds me of a gt5 type seasonal, very cool.

What tune are you using?

Agree it may be the best for clean, calm laps. Not sure it's the fastest car for this seasonal, though.

That said, I'm actually surprised at how few cars go up to 700pp in this game. I thought for sure most cars that start stock at 630pp+ would hit 700, but this isn't the case. This unfortunately rules out quite a few I wanted to give a shot.

I'm wondering if someone ever compiled a list of min-max pp ranges for every car in the game? That would be very useful... PD might want to consider putting something like that in to make car selection easier.

I agree. I find it to be superior in every way to the Minolta. Unfortunately, it's not as fast for my driving style, so the best I could do with it was a 7:19. I think I have a 7:15 in the Minolta if I work it a some more, but I'm leaving it, the LM55 has ruined me, it's so much nicer to drive .

Shiet, the Minolta is fast. I did my personal best with a 7:22 and a low 1:24 lap. That mid-rpm turbo with 800 lbs-ft of torque is just too good.

I also revise my opinion of the 787B. Turns out all it needed was an oil change for an extra 70hp and a bit of drafting got me a win. Very squirelly under hard braking and my tune was tail-happy, so not the most stable car.

I think any car that can hit 700pp can do this seasonal. Just need to tune it right and find the right driving line/style for this event.

The LM55 is very safe because it's 4WD. But it's rather slow. And it's a VGT. So it's not a real car, it doesn't exist. It's a vision. Not blaming anyone for driving VGT cars, but I prefer to stick to "reality". :)

Edit: it's only a game anyway, and VGTs are part of it. Just not my glass of beer, sorry

This 👍

So far, I can't even touch the AI. They're quite faster than I expected. Though, I've only driven the Mazda LM55 VGT and Sauber Mercedes C9 so far. I might actually have to upgrade another car to win.

I am now of the opinion that the 2X is the fastest car here. Made a 1:22 lap and something like 7:17 overall. Insane car.

I also think I may have found the one 700pp candidate for whom this challenge is impossible: the Red Bull Junior. Too underpowered despite the massive downforce.

Allright... i'm having tons of fun with the 'ring hot lap, which i said it was the best hot lap event ever, for me.

But this one..................... nasty battles but all gold with C9, 787B, C60 Hyb, Spd 8, 88CV, 905B, LM55...

I've been playing the same 2 races over and over again, and sometimes i get this trance feeling where i see just a blur... this is great, very exciting events with fantastic cars.

Had a hard time figuring this one out. Race cars I have won handily in didn't have the right set-up for Tokyo. Thanks to @shaunm80 and the Pescarolo, I won in an exciting race. On lap 3, I overcooked the hairpin and slammed into the wall. Thought about retrying but then decided to keep on going. Caught up to the lead Pescarolo halfway through the final lap. Won it at the second to the last turn. That was fun!
