I know it doesn't make sense, but the IR tires don't have the beginning, mid, or ultimate grip, and they break away much faster.
You know much more than I do about GT6 so I am here to learn from you @UltimateLurker and the same for the rest of my GT6 buddies!! When I have a moment I will run the test and I am thniking best time out of three races with each tire.

Not so long ago, QM at Grand Valley Speedway, racing car, 550pp, RH tires.
The fastest time I did with the Opera Performance S2000 '04, 1:49. Saw many drivers in the 1:51
The only other car able to battle with the Opera was the 330P4, 1:51 - 1;52

The Elise 111R Race Car was two seconds behind the Ferrari!
Thanks I will drop the Elise 111R Race Car than and go for the Opera Performance S2000 '04, thanks 👍.

Both cars are great at cornering, the Opera S2000 have a better acceleration and top speed.
I'm using minimum donwfore at the rear, think it's 0/50.

Maybe it's my driving style, at the GVS Event, the winners were all driving the Opera S2000.
Bought it for a try, got use to it and fall in love with it. Hope it will be the same for you!

Thanks for that:cheers:, I might have a bit challenge between @UltimateLurker and myself, on which tyre is faster for this race, I will be on IM tyres and UltimateLurker will be on RS tyres and we both will use this car a Opera Performance S2000 '04, then we will see what tyre is faster.

I think the Elise will easily out-handle the S2000, but it's the top end that suffers because of it. Unfortunately, we just can't have it all.

Mind posting your tune for the Opera S2000 that got you the 7:53? I'd like to try it to see how I can use that chassis.

I don't think I have posted a 7:53 for the Opera Performance S2000 '04 and when did you see that ?.

Sorry I had a brain fade, I have not used or got a Opera Performance S2000 '04 tune as yet, it would be nice if someone posted a tune and if not we can use another car.

No worries, I don't mind driving an S2000, pretty fond of the car. Let's see what we can do with it. I'll share any adjustments I make.

I will try this also and many thanks 👍.

Edit: I have tried your settings, no good for me and it is not stable on the track sorry, hey UltimateLurker I am going to scrap the Opera Performance S2000 '04 and go for something else for this race 👍.

Found a base tune on the Net, and tweaked it from there, but just like every other S2000, snap-oversteer reigns. This car is simply no fun to drive...at the limit...in rain, so I won't be participating in driving it further. This was my 5th lap after getting my tune down, and my knuckles were white at the end of it. I can also say for sure that the car is faster in my hands with RS compared to IM tires, but if you can drive it faster on IM tires, more power to you. You gents have fun!

Very good race time in the S2000 '04 , I don't like cars that snap-oversteer.

You are a very good driver UltimateLurker. 👍

When I drive this car I have to get ready not for driving it but to battle every seconds with it. When I decide to do it, it gave me lap time I'm not able to do with other cars.

Sorry for your hands, if it can make you feel better, I'm using a DS3, so I have the same problem

That S2000 '04 is a handful in this Event even using a G29 wheel, the best I got with this car is a lap time of 8:01.135, but I think I will keep this car for the dry and that time I done was on IM tyres but some AI where making it hard for me to pass them.

Of all 3 tunes I used, all can be helped a lot by adding 125 # of downforce, changing the front brakes to 7 and the rear to 1, and taking all the negative camber out. Those 3 things make the car driveable in RAIN, but don't make it fun. I imagine the car is quite fun in the dry, so I'm keeping it as well, but none of these tunes are meant for rain for sure, and not at this track for damn sure.

On dry surface, took the car to race online against 500pp - 550pp race cars. most of the time I was in front of them. Always with minimum downforce.
This car is pure magic!

Took the car for a test, considering my PS3 is dying (the track disappear, pause the game about 10 times, concentration is not at is best), a better driver than me could go faster.

I knew it would be either you or skeagracing who saw and would give it a shot, lol.
And I knew, either of you would be able to get a lot closer to 8.00.000 then I did.
Thanks for proving me right^^
I retuned this car from scratch on wet, for wet, and although a few tweaks can be made, I was pretty happy with it. I was really hoping someone could hit 8 even. Maybe it just needs a simple Transmission revisit.

Thank you so very much for the heads up as I have not used the IM and I noticed a lot of wheels spin with the racing soft tires. You are correct I could've made up a lot of seconds if I had used the IM. I'm going to give it another shot and report back to you. Thank you so very much for the great advice!!
I ran the test and the IM are 8 second faster than the racing soft @UltimateLurker. @fordlaser777 @demonchilde With the IM I was able to overtake the leader way before the Karussell. With the racing soft some time after after the Karussell. @sync

Serves me right for not even trying them.
When this came out, my instincts from past rain events told me 2 things;
1, the game wears down wet tires faster then normal racing tires.
2, the game had worse traction for wet tires due to how fast they wore.
So why use them?
However when I realized there was no real time tire wear in the event, I just threw on Rsofts.
I am starting to think the game designers may have altered the effectiveness of wet tires in the last 9 months of updates.
I remember an event early in gt6 that had real time wear and heavy rain in it, and anyone and everyone figured out real fast just to use RH tires, had great grip and didn't have to change them for an extremely long time. If you used wet tires, you had to change them every lap or pay bad consequences by the end of the next lap.
If that has been changed that would renew my faith that they actually ARE trying to fix things that need fixing.
