Yeh.
It seems unlikely every manufacturer will fill a spot in every class.
Time will tell how's it all run.

Anyway, here's a shot from Japan's unveiling.

Hmm, that is both clearer in showing that each manufacturer will end up with three drivers in a team and confusing in that it then suggests they will all go into the one 24Hr event. Which as per above, isn't going to work when Team Ferrari can't enter a Gr.1 event and vice versa for other teams. So perhaps that image is simplified to give a general overview and there will in fact be several manufacturer vs manufacturer races between the teams, in the different groups.

Assetto Corsa(PC list until console list is revealed): (7)
Z4 GT3
Gallardo GT3
Huracan GT3
McLaren 650 GT3
AMG GT3
SLS GT3
GT-R GT3

GTS is looking pretty good for those that want a GT3 fix. The GTE, LM and Fantasy cars from each game, respectively ups the car count. However, authenticity adds to the immersion. A few more OFFICIAL cars like the 911, Bentley, Lamborghini, M6, AMG GT3, 488 GT3, get added to each of these games that don't have them and it will be a win for us all.
Assetto Corsa also has the McLaren MP4 12C GT3.

Yes, certainly a bit confusing.
I can sort of see (not that I could put it into words) how a 24 hour race held with people across the globe in different time-zones forming 1 team might work.
Tough to come up with a reasonable scenario though.

Anyway, so far as the car list goes, I'm leaning towards 1 class being represented by all manufacturers.
And it's shaping up to be the Gr.3 class.
So I wouldn't be surprised to see the Manufacturers Cup based on that class alone.

I'll no doubt be proven wrong when the time comes though.

I hope they reserve three or four spots for some historic cars too. If they pick carefully, they can make fine balance between each driver for good online meetings and incorporate another level of challenge for those who will aim for that digital license.

Certainly plausible but yeah, we can only wait and see. I mean even the drivers cup has the same sort of problem, is everyone going to be forced to drive Gr.1 cars if they want to take the overall title, or can someone who prefers Gr.3 or even Gr.4 win it?

I think the Nations Cup is different.
We saw at Copperbox, first a time-trial qualy on Seattle Short to establish some sort of order, then the lower guys raced for a spot in the semi on Northern Isle using Gr.3 cars, then a field of 16 on Tokyo using N200 Miatas (or were they Gr.4's? ), which was then cut to a field of 8 to run the Final in Gr.1 on Brands.
Random car selection I believe. (could be wrong)
Done for display purposes? ... Probably.

But I can picture the fortnightly Nations Cup events varying in classes with no problems.
And building up towards the Final.

No surprises here, but the other shot from Japans unveiling.

Right so essentially yeah, if you want to win it all you're going to have to be great at all groups. Which is good, really, means someone who is great driving LMPs won't be winning if he can't get to grips with a Miata.

Yeh, that's my take on it anyway.
A lot of it derived from Copperbox though, which was an event to showcase the game more than anything.
So it's questionable in that respect.

I'm not sure how they'll do it.
The obvious is a points scoring system, ala F1.
But that means people don't score points if they can't attend every race.
So I'm not sure how they'll go about it.
But I wouldn't be surprised to see differing classes of cars for those races as fortnights go by.
And possibly without the option to actually choose your car.

This is for real. How high do you want to go? If someone just wants to do Gr.N and nothing else, that's their choice. If someone wants to race in all types of cars, like most professional race car drivers, there's a ladder for those players.

I can see where PD is coming from. There are only Supercars in Australia, Super GT cars in Japan and DTM in Germany. If one wants to race any of those, one has to go there.

I might actually warm up to competing. We'll see.

So that means every manufacturer (29 so far) will have a car in Gr.4, Gr.3, and Gr.1..

29 manufacturers, 140 cars. Would come down to 4 cars per manufacturer. Maybe big brands have more and smaller less like 5 to 3. It would mean that smaller brands are restricted to à certain class while the big manufacturers have more variety. It's all speculation of course but I have to agree that after reading through, it probably won't be possible to see every manufacturer represented in every class.

Assumed that probably not every brand will be in every group (i can see ferrari just in gr.3 and maybe the higher class of gr.N for example)...
Assumed that within of each group will be a BoP to level all cars within the group and vive to all drivers the chance to fight for victory regardless the car...
Assumed that in the dealer there is already the various versions of the cars acvording to the group...
What is the meaning of having normal road cars too if they dont belong to any group and any BoP?

The more i learn about this "game" the less i like it and the less i understand it...

We have seen photos of Gr.4 cars running with Gr.N cars. Normal cars depending on PP, will have their class to run in.

Yes, I tend to agree.

I can read all sorts of things into what we've seen, which if honest I probably shouldn't. :P
But we see on the car lists things like the TS030 or the Audi R18 'named' as such with no class definition, but the Bugatti or Alpine 'named' with "GR.1" added.
Does this suggest we can expect other versions of the Bug. and Alpine VGTs?
Why add "GR.1" unless there's a reason to seperate different versions?
I don't know.

Going from PD's past, a car count is exactly that, and it's pushed to the extremes.
But is there a chance we are dismissing the count of 140 on this occasion?

How this type of approach might help fill certain classes, without sitting down for hours to look at it all, I've no clue.

Only thing that that i don't like about car list is unreal vgt cars. For LMP clas or gr1 they should use only Mazda VGT because it look slimilar to LMP1 cars. For gr3 they should use Lexus and BMW vgt because they look real (and they are race cars). not like they coming from future like Peugeot and open top VW. They look more like GT3 cars that cars Peugeot and ww...

It's really odd seeing this huge Bugatti that oozes aero going up against a sleek & low R18. Then you got this Viper thing with a big wing going "Hey guys! I'm a racecar too! Look!"

Given the cars revealed so far, Ford has at least 5 cars, all '15 models.

Focus Gr.B Rally Car
Focus ST N-Series
Mustang GT Gr.3
Mustang GT Gr.B Rally Car
Mustang GT Premium Fastback

Two Rally cars of same class from one manufacturer...

I am guessing that the following cars below are bonus cars and do not count toward the base car list since they are pre-order bonuses:

Ford Mustang Gr.B Rally Car
Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.3)
Peugeot 908 HDi FAP - Team Peugeot Total
Chevrolet Corvette C7 Gr.3
Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport

The preoder bonus is you get them right away.

So perhaps these cars will eventually come through dlc on day one or dlc throughout the life cycle of the game (dlc that you might have to pay for).
...no you just get the cars right away, or else you just buy them with in-game credits. PD isn't following the trend set by EA and Ubisoft to bait pre-orders.

Thanks, I always been confused about what the pre-order methods were for this game...

For me it comes down to if the cars have character. I had no problem with PCars list (although recognised it needed expanding with DLC) since most of the cars felt unique to drive.

Any news on these two being in GT Sport anywhere? I think Hot Hatches always give good close races and time trials. I think these two would fit in nicely :D

Nope, no one knows right now. But I would guess that the Ford doesn't make an appearance since we already have the ST, while the Honda has high chances to be in the game.

It's

a possibility. If PD are finishing any 2016 models, it would make sense since we haven't seen any in the builds.

What about the Toyota FT-1 VGT? It looks great!
