Hehe.....i think that the AI is the same, just that the Nordschleife is VERY narrow (well.....for those speeds+bumps anyways)
So you don't have a passing opportunity at the end of each straight or at each corner, because the AI takes the ideal line đź‘Ť

Is wierd that i can't keep up with the Viper on some parts of the track, like Aremberg...WOW.....it overtakes my on the OUTSIDE with EASE :( But eventually i catch him at Adenauer Forst.....overall it's VERY exciting :)

i will have the fixed version on a ftp within a few hours.
if anyone is interested, set up a ftp and send me the information and i will send it to you (ftp must allow fxp transfers).

Hi all,

Just made a ppf patch for the Hex edit to remove the time limit for the GT4 Demo. This should make it easier for most people.

To patch your ISO image, you will need PPF-O-Matic 3.0 which can be downloaded here:

http://www.paradogs.com/download/pdx-pom3.zip - for WINDOWS

http://www.paradogs.com/download/pdx-pmc3.zip - for MAC

Instructions (You will need the original untouched ISO image of the GT4 Demo):

- Download & Unzip PPF-O-Matic for your system.
- Download & Unzip the ppf patch attached to this post
- Run PPF-O-Matic
- Input the Image ISO location and the patch location.
- Click "Apply"
- After patch is done, Burn the ISO image with the appropriate software.

Enjoy!

Thanks!
But actually, since I'm unfamiliar with .rars and am not entirely confident in my ability to recombine the file, I'm going with the newly available patch method.
Sorry to have wasted your time and bandwidth :indiff:
I'll try to set up a convenient download system for the patched .iso file...

>Rengoku

Thankyou so much
I didn't know they have ppf-o-matic for ISO .... great stuff!
yesterday I tried out a bin/gi ppf-o-matic software (should be the same from BMW demo)
and it doesn't work for iso ... said the original and modified file are in differnet size
so stupid ...

for someone who asked question about the file size
original = 1,284,608KB
no time limit = 1,264,128KB
I have no idea why the no time limit version gets smaller in size
I double checked with ISObuster for both versions
all files inside are all identical in size and LBA values
maybe there is 20Mb invisible dummy inside?
but it seems most people can get the no time limit working except some software/burning problems for some case
hope Rengoku's patch can help you all out, specially Mac users

ps - Falken skyline is really scary, no idea how that guy drive so perfect in that quicktime video

If you have winrar, make sure you have GT4demo.part01.rar - GT4demo.part21.rar in the same folder, then open GT4demo.part01.rar with winrar, then click extract
they will combine by themselves and give you a (beautiful) iso file :dopey:

edit> If patch works for you, no need to download another 1GB, its totally waste of time

Hello
great work you all do here. Could someone say to me how I could make an ISO-Image on my Mac?? Sorry but i am not a Computer genius. So i can try the last method to have my Nurb wihout limit!

thanks

The patch method worked for me perfectly (I use Mac OS X 10.3. You should get PPFMaster from VersionTracker instead of PPF-O-Matic though. PPF-O-Matic crashed every time.) (Thanks rengoku!!!). I will be trying to get the ISO file up on my server in a download script as soon as I can (i.e. after I've had enough fun on the NĂĽrburgring :D ).

Thanks to all who figured this out.

I've wasted two DVD's already trying this stuff out. Is there a way to use Game Shark V2 ( im assuming to be the same as AR V2 ), Swap Magic disc, and then the burnt copy of the demo? Any help would be appreciated ( in the wait that it shows up somewhere to be downloaded :( )

I tried patching the .iso also, I got a bootable game out of it, but it freezes before I can start racing.

Edit: Is there a change in filesize after the patch is applied? It tells me patch has been applied succesfully, but when I look at the .iso, it has exact same size, and the PCPX_966.49 file seems to remain untouched, which leads me to believe the patch didn't do anything? Or maybe has NOT been patched succesfully?

Edit2: Success! Patch worked after all, great work guys :) đź‘Ť

Hmmm, I notice that the finish screen is buggy...car names are all choppy.

Has anyone gotten a good look at the NĂĽrburgring GP course yet? The only breakout points I've found are to low and I end up way below the GP course when I get there.

I didn't have a clue of what I was doing, but I did it. And it works. :D

Thank you all. đź‘Ť

glitched
anyone gonna make a torrent of the patched image? if ever get around to patching mine i will, but im in a really busy time of the year.

sure we will, just for you!
listen, this is extremley easy, won't take you more than 30 minutes doing this, get of your lazy butt and do it!

Wow, I don't come here for the weekend and someone makes a patch!

Thanks!

Now if my stupid DVD writer would read my ****ing disc ****ing ****er **** **** **** ****.

Oh hold on I can just patch the thing straight from the HDD.

Oh well.

Great job. đź‘Ť

I noticed the finish screen two days ago, plus it stays up for all of three seconds. The car names were all like "R R350" "R Rr5" "R9 rrr"

Break Out points from the Nordschleife to the GP course...hmmm! I'd love to drive that, it looks like most of it is there too. I'll give it a few shots tonight.

Anyone kind enough to make PAR2 files for the newsgroup version? I'm having a whole bunch of errors trying to unrar it.

This is what you get when you delete ISOs right after you burn them to DVD... :(

Success at last!

Thankyou so very much Rengoku, you have rescued Christmas and my faith in Macintosh.

Mac users:
To turn file into .iso, save or convert with disc utility as DVD/CD master. This will give you a .cdr file that can be converted by changing suffix of the file to .iso.

Sure. making 10% par files now.

I'm glad I could be of some help :sly:

Just for future reference, if there are any hacks or cracks for ISO images, you can use PPF-Studio to create PPF files for them. All you need is the original ISO and the hacked ISO.

Basically what PPF-Studio does is compare the two ISOs and any differences in the code that it finds, it stores in a generated PPF file. This PPF file can then be posted for others to use.

PPF-Studio can be downloaded here: PPF-Studio 1.01b

I would have been nice to know that earlier....

Anyway...I'm preparing a way to download the fixed up ISO. Does anyone really need it now? I can only offer 2-3 copies of the file today, or I'll go over my bandwidth...
