Viper is easy to hold untill you get to those twists right after the karrusel... after that, there's no way to effectivly block it, much less outrun him. ^_^

Negative, i succsesfully blocked him with a small amount of blocking till Schwalbenschwanz ( before the small Karusell) because he rammed me on the sand and spun out :(

So blocking 'till Schwalbenschwanz is possible 👍

Video of my tussel with the Viper.

filmed with a webcam because my capture card has stopped working. :grumpy:

Great driving.....camera skills need some work. 👍

Didn't seem like you were blocking the viper to the point that you would get flagged in a real race, and it was probably best to be in second before the long straight so that you could draft past him (better you passing him than him passing you).

I hope you get that capture card soon!

Quick Question:
Your First Edit indicated that the file size did not change after you ran the patch.
This is exactly my situation....the file size is exactly the same after running the patch.

Your Second Edit indicates that the patch worked after all. Did you run the patch
again and end up with a different file size, or did the file size remain the same? :boggled:

Thanks in advance for your response to this matter.

I have the same problem! Please tell us how it work and what we have to do. Thank you for the information.

i think flinx has the skill to beat the damn Viper! Sure he just has beaten the Viper
Tomorrow i have time to attack the viper in i will beat her!! Today the viper passed me twice at Armeberg an i coul pass the viper again in Kesselchen so i have the hope to beat her. we will see.... pretty much fun!!

Amazing driving! Was that done with the controller or a wheel?

Control Pad using the d-pad. 👍

That Viper will go down :mischievous: I've accomplished my first aim, and that was to break seven minutes. My next one is to rule that Viper on that magnificent circuit.

lol, goes to show just how EASY it is to play with the DS2 ^_^, i mean come on... sub 7 mins with a DS2? PD really made those controls forgiving in GT4 for the DS2.. i know i wouln't want to play any DS2 users if i played them online.

tiptopcream
Nope. :)

D-pad rocks, so much better than the analog stick steering imo.

hehe, man, i'd like to see you controlling the REAL falken skyline with a D pad, you wouldn't last one corner .

oh, and btw, sub 7 minutes isn't enough to beat the viper either O_o

Dpad is slightly easier because it automatically straightens the wheel position when you let go of the input. W/ the wheel you have to set them straight manually. Still tiptopcream does have nice skills...

Good to hear. I have the DPF but I can't stand it for GT3. So I'm glad there's hope that the controller will still be competitive for GT4.

hi
whats the differnece between
street tires and sports and arcade?>???

Well street are just that, street tires, like you get on a normal car...they offer the least grip.

Sport tires are a little higher grip made for more aggressive driving, but not to the level of race tires.

Arcade...I think they change the handling of the car to a less realistic arcade liek feel. Like Sim tires would in GT3. I have yet to actually try them yet on any car in the demo. Street and sport tires are too much fun.

:) I finally got the demo in. Yessss its so freakin sweet.

Now I have to put it down and try working on the time limit removal, though that will wait until much much later

I use the D-Pad also, it´s better than the analog stick, at least in GT. The only games I still use the D-Pad instead of the analog stick are GT and Winning Eleven. On other racing games like NFS or Burnout I prefer the analog .

I've never been able to get a feel for the brakes with the d-pad. I like the throttle response and the ability to move my thumb over and left foot brake, but I jsut can't get the feel for the brakes in the button.

I patched the ISO and the size did not change, but burned the patched ISO and It works perfectly 👍

Has anyone else had trouble getting the demo to run using swap disks? I tried a couple of disks and each time it loads to the SCE screen then to the Polyphony screen then goes black. Any thoughts?

I'm using swap disks, DVD version 2.0 USA build. I havent had any problems so far. Maybe your PS2 doesnt like the disk your burned or the normal japan demo and is having fits when reading them.

btw. anyone who won the race at nurb with the falken skyline?? I managed to win the race, because the vip couldn´t pass the vette till 2. round after hatzenbach. At the end i won with 3 sec.

Poor quality media or high burn speeds can make the discs illegible to the PS2. Try Maxell or Verbatim at 1 or 2x speed.
