ABS exploit with the Mini Cooper S '65 ! ? ...

I’ve just tried this. The Mini is more stable, especially in turn 1. This obviously means you can carry a little more speed thu the curves going back up the hill.

Tried it in the race and it wouldn’t let me pull away at the start. Got a nudge up the back and I’m away!

Didn’t win as other errors. Got fastest lap.

Just improved my time using this method. Now 15th on EU leaderboard. I’m not that quick!

On one hand I'm a bit disappointed because I was trying pretty hard on my qualifying time and trying to figure out how to get closer to the top times.

But on the other hand it's impressive people find ways to get faster, experimenting, trying everything.

Thanks for posting this.

Impressive is not a word I'd use for it. It's one thing to push the games limits and try things out (like the track limits stuff) as that is an intended game design thing, even if it looks so wrong but it's another thing to try to deliberately break a game by finding others ways to get ahead by exploiting unintended bugs or glitches, especially when it's an online mode and they are/potentially are ruining it for many other players.

Anyway my opinion does not really matter, I just hope it's an easy fix and not a widespread issue, which I fear it may well be. :nervous:

I agree. This needs to be looked at and fixed.

It is probably possible to do it with your foot very, very gentle on the brake pedal. However, it would be tricky to get your foot back in the correct position after breaking properly, and accelerating out of a corner.

I tried this when I first came across it and it is very tricky. I ended up losing time through not getting it right and braking too much.
I've just being doing some off-line testing with a Mazda roadster at Tsukuba. Results inconclusive. It feels a bit easier to drive with the cardboard mod and I did set my fastest time but it was only a couple of tenths. Not a night and day difference like the Mini.
And like you said, you can't do standing starts. Maybe it's not such a big deal.

Touché, that didn't occur to me.

You're probably onto something with the ABS then, because IIRC a flashing brake symbol means ABS:Weak which nobody on the top uses.
I’m #8 on the America’s top ten using abs on weak

One thing on America top Ten list the top two times which is 1.200 seconds faster then me at #8 spot there no replay videos of there laps? Is this the same in Europe and Asia?

Try default and Maybe you'd be #7
I could be .194 better if I could hold it all to getter lol. I’m going to try no abs. But I’m at pub now. I have +.150 over my best times and like a moron I hit the sand just before the checker line twice lol got greedy

All the Europe top ten are in the 1:04s now and replays are available. You need to find a bit of cardboard when you get back from the pub or you'll find yourself out of the top 10 by tomorrow.

Another thing I’ve seen is a yellow AB

I have a load cell ? Been in 8th since Wednesday lol.

**** I’m not driving by the the time I’m out of the pub. It don’t matter Cardboard cheat or not

I haven't done this race or seen any replays of the top times. Could it have anything to do with using the clutch and H-shifter?

its a custom transmission. no clutch needed. If they use a stock transmission like the 997 GT3 or the GT86, then is a clutch and shifter a huge advantage.

i´d tried to race without abs in the FIA Nations Cup and the manufacture series (also in the GT86 on sh tires in Fuji) and i have to say its a joke, because only the lifted wheels do look up slighly. if you brake straight it, doesn`t lock up with a race brake ;) great simulation

It why I stop playing GT6. Although I’m not sure the Cardboard trick is a real cheat. At least there’s no going in the PS4 and software and cheating that way. ?

Some were using the pad with the brake slightly on and then the wheel at the same time to drive normally and you even went a tiny bit faster in a straight line with this brake on.

It's not that far from something like a hack, although clearly hacking is another level of cheating.

I just wonder how many more undiscovered/exposed cheats are in this game, I'm mean no one would have believed you could reverse into the pits to gain a lap, heel your tyres like magic with just a few button presses or exploit the ABS system to go faster with the brake permanently on (albeit very slightly) and yet here we are. :(

I hope those other ones have been fixed by now?

I haven’t done a Sport Race in a year, lost a couple of races do to the pit BS. Lost 3/4 races lap cars brake checking me or driving into me. One good is l found a good bunch of guys I race with now so we have a lot of fun.
They could do that on GT6?
oh ya. Speed up the time, you could beat there ghost car but not there time? Place a car body on a Redbull Chasses etc. Just to name a few lol

What are the top guys using if not ABS weak, default?? To me it seems like I shortened my stopping g distance by going to ABS weak instead of default.

Yes default, there's only an odd one using weak. None of them will be crazy enough to turn it off I would assume.

I’m going to in arcade mode again, with abs on weak and steering torch at 8 and sin at 9 seem to work for me. The car was made with no ABS, maybe it should be run with out it on?
