Ergh, I tried a HCAA setup again on my F-35 tonight, must have forgotten not a lot's changed since the last time I tried it since I still couldn't one-shot orange targets (though it may be possible if the HCAA were level 5 instead of level 2). It would make the HCAA challenge a lot easier, but meh. Put myself some $30k behind testing all that, should have the Falken very soon though. I have a free level 5-6 upgrade card to use on that as well.

Fuel sale already up in US, gonna be up in some hours in Japan and EU. This tournament gonna be crazy, sadly.
But this will give me the chance to do even more of my original shopping list, I will see what to upgrade other than what I already planned.

ACS/4chan speak m8. Previous post is just poking fun at the pattern I noticed when I had a look at the statistics from my YouTube. Seems that the videos that don't get a thumbs up within the space of 24-48 hours always gets a thumbs down from an account in the U.S. immediately after said imaginary grace period. The poor soul who's behind those dislikes must be so lonely haha.

Anyone not have a Flanker for the Scarface tournament? The Su-33 rental set is plenty to keep up with 1900 to 2000 MRs in a 6 player SOLG I room if you can get yourself up to speed with the plane quick enough.

Yeah I was looking at that, first use of an online rental set right? Does anyone know if the rental can one-shot orange targets? I think it's good the rental is a level 4 jet, but the lack of upgrade parts and the HPAA special weapon must make it pretty crap.

The rental can one shot oranges with HPAAs. Some if not most reds are left with a sliver of health though which would be quite irritating when you get into a groove.

A level 1 Mig-21 can one-shot orange targets with HPAA, they're not very useful though due to limited quantities and ability to hit the target.

The rental set has something like 24 of them? Plenty to last a sortie but definitely something that you wouldn't want to do a whole tournament with. Took it out for a spin on Moscow, furball phase 3 shows up and got 50k points in one game!

For absurd, HPAA become more usefull in high tier planes when standard missiles already do tons of damage than on low tier. Because of higher loadout and mostly because, as said, special weapons are based on the standard missiles. Better standard missile at level 1 = better special weapon. HPAA on a Su-35 or F-22 is for sure faster and have better homing than the if used by a MiG-21.

We have role specific challenges again as well, score 150,000 in a Multirole, Fighter and Attacker. Worth $50k each. Not happy about "God Eater" themed stuff, being a religious person and all.
I have been getting a Merc contract a day lately, I'll have well over 20 soon, really hoping some level 2+ raids start showing up with forced sorties.

This game can be so cruel sometimes. I decided to do a quick B7R sortie last night in the rental SU-33 so I could at least get the base reward for the event(at least the credits, upgrade reports are effectively worthless since money is so hard to come by outside of special raids and team deathmatch). Of course I had one of those wonderful missions where it seemed like every single plane was shooting at me the entire time and no matter what I did the awful targeting system simply refused to select any target within 25,000 feet of me despite there being 8-10 enemies in very close proximity. I'm pretty sure I heard the warning beep for incoming missiles for 5 minutes straight.

Didn't help of course that that made the radar zoom way out so I couldn't even tell which way was the best to turn to try to get an angle on the ones near me, but even when there was one showing right in front of me on the radar and it was close enough to see where it was it still refused to target them. I think I wound up with about 23k points and got beat by 4 bots. Ugh.

Sometimes it really is the luck of the draw, but then I don't do myself any favors dumping millions of credits into upgrading mediocre and low-end planes and refusing to fly the special higher-end planes that I have picked up lol.

Yes, sometimes is just a matter of luck in this game...

Anyway, 6pm (CET) and I just finished the second day if burn.
Currently placed 7th with 342k points. Top 200 almost stopped.

With the burn of today I:
- Increased my credits from 660k to 2.8milions;
- Levelled up from level 4 to level 5 MiG-21 and finished research to next level;
- Levelled up from level 1 to level 7 EA-18G and finished research to next level;
- Levelled up from level 1 to level 7 F-16F -DR- and finished research to next level;
- Levelled up from level 1 to level 5 HPAA (yes, did the whole upgrading);
- Bought Extinguisher S;
- Finished the research to unlock ATD-0 (won't buy);
- Finished the research to unlock Speed/Homing (MSL) S (won't buy).

EDIT: I noticed that I didn't post the burn of yesterday, here is the results (remember that is chronogically before what I wrote above:

- Increased my credits from 105k to 660k;
- Levelled up from level 4 to level 5 Su-34 -CN- and finished the research to next level;
- Levelled up from level 4 to level 5 Su-35 and finished the research to next level;
- Levelled up from level 1 to level 7 FB-22 and finished the research to next level;
- Levelled up from level 1 to level 7 ASF-X and finished the research to next level;
- Levelled up from level 1 to level 7 F-2A -NG- and finished the research to next level.

Sorry ACI randoms, but the game is all about those Benjamins - or whatever they like to call their virtual currency - in the end of the day.

9am (CET), almost 100 hours after tournament start, halfway forced sortie (48 hours passed, 48 hours remaining) and the situation is:
- I'm 14th with 345k;
- Top 20 is 330k;
- Top 200 is 157k;
- Top 1.000 is 36k;
- Top 3.000 is 14k.

Payout was atrocious for a level 4 special raid. Total payout on one supplied before contracts was 30,000 since we didn't destroy Aigaion. So yeah, for SR4 and MDP4, ~2000MR or kick unless you're feeling charitable... and ACI isn't exactly a charity.

Not really, I'm not interested on the 10k more credits and "Serious Pilot Wannabe" nickname, mainly because I'm gonna use the one of top 1.000, Scarface, in honor of the character of AC2, the only Ace Combat I played before Infinity.
So, Scarface nickname, complete Phoenix Squadron emblem (not just the Phoenix) and Su-35 -Scarface 1- plane... I'm gonna be THE Scarface One
