@Flaren89 I almost forgot! We flew against each other a few days ago in TDM, you were in an F-15S/MTD, I shot you down a few times.:sly: Did you even notice?

@Paulie Not really, I noticed you in a room but I think it dropped or I left because I had to go while waiting.

If a second time we fought against, I don't remember.

I noticed Kamov Ka-50s a few times yesterday and the day before. Can we fly helicopters in this game? I didn't see them in either aircraft tree.

No we can't. I think it's already a good thing we got bombers... Anyway, they said they were working on put WWII planes one day.

I would laugh my ass off if I saw somebody's million dollar experimental jet get shot down by a P-51 in a deathmatch.

I unlocked the White Tiger Mirage 2000-5. It's a shame that it doesn't count on the path towards the A-10. If I have this Mirage 2000-5, should I get the regular, or just go for an AV-8B instead? Also, is the White Tiger Mirage in anyway a "rare" aircraft?

Not rare, but if you have it, you might as well get the AV-8B on your way to the A-10, as special aircraft can normally be used in aircraft specific challenges as well.

Today I was worried about to burn to get top 2.000, as I had not so much fuel (42 starting) and I am really unlucky with teammates sorting, usually noobs are in my team...
But... Wait... The miracle happened! Of 12 games I won 10 of them! And so lost just 2! Also, in some of them I literally owned, one time I even got almost 3.000 points each fuel (total was 8.8xx).
As I'm writing I'm 1.600th with 30k over top 2.000. And I just used 23 fuel + 8 dropped + supplied. I still got 19 stocked on and so with these results I even use few fuel. Which quite bothers me, as I got more for next burn (gonna try to get 880ks before the end of month, even burning in a tourney I'm not interested on), but "half wasted" the contracts I activated today (although I still got 4 each).

I probably have enough fuel to get into the top 2,000... I have 60 but have been using only supplied so drifted right to 4,000 limit on account of only winning like 2 games in 3 days. I just don't think I have the interest to sit there and play over and over for hours straight anymore, especially the same exact mission. I'd have liked to get the MiG-31 but I'll probably just ensure my spot in the top 4k and leave it. I just got an Area 88[0,000] drop though, so that's nice.

I don't even bother challenging the wallet warriors in this one. I just do the NTDM in hopes of money or fuel drops..

Hmm, I don't know where I finished, I was around 800th this morning and since the Mig-31 was all I really wanted I will have clearly achieved my goal. Whether I got the A-10 remains to be seen when I have more time to get back on the game.

i'm actually quite disappointed by the T-50.. :irked: It stalls easily and seems to have lacking defensive rating. I might have to get the YF-23 and F-22 and see how they do..

Just barely missed the lucky #3,000 as usual. Made good money and research progress burning fuel though, TDM is great for getting paid. Of course I blew it all on inefficiently upgrading planes, but hey my Su-24 is lvl 12 now(and can make pretty quick work of all but the carrier and cruiser) and my Su-37 is level 8(but still can't hit an attacker that isn't flying perfectly straight away from me of course).

I finally made it to the top of my team's leaderboard, even though we lost. :/

It still felt pretty good getting 20,000 points in a level 4 F-4G. I'm thinking of upgrading it to level 5, but I don't know if I should save the 12,750 credits for something else. I'm at 714,536 total credits, so I guess I could go for it while I'm waiting for the "Advanced Target Awareness Circuit (MSL) S" and "High Spec Main Wing Actuator (Roll) S" to unlock so I can buy the A-10A Warthog.

I have never heard of this, but I would actually love that if I could run around in a P-51 or F4U in Infinity.

After it was all said and done I finished around there myself and outside of a few network ruined matches, my experience in NTDM was awesome.

Hmm... I just noticed the FB-22 "Aries" is in the Special Supply Items Catalogue for only 200 Special Supply Tickets. I have 581 tickets.

Hmm...

Don't do it!

Save your tickets I say! Save them until something worthwhile comes around (I have about 2500 tickets).

Too late. :P

I flew my first sortie with it and... I feel like I got trolled. 2v2 on that one map with an altitude restriction (Made the mistake of flying above said restriction and got #rekt by AI). One of the guys on the other team had a B-2 Spirit and was racking up kills. I get a lock on a small cluster of targets, I fire, they're destroyed instantly before the missile is a third of the way there.

We won; my teammate got 135,000 points in an F-15, I got 18,000. The guy in the B-2 had around 70,000.

I am not sure what your MR is but I would recommend that you avoid taking your new bird out until you at least rank it up a few spots.

I was reminded of this very thing during the NTDM tourney as I tried to compete with a Level 5, F-14 Jolly Roger.

Yeah that's surely a low-level issue, slow short-range missiles(and low speed overall). Attackers are a little funny anyway, one mission you'll get beat to every punch and the next mission you'll have more targets than you can shoot at. I'm not sure there's a more capable attacker in the game than the FB-22 Aries(unless it is somehow drastically weaker than the standard version). If I was smart I'd probably have been upgrading mine for a while now, but I'd rather use my expensive old brick beloved classic Su-24M until I'm ready to replace it with the Su-34 Capricorn that I was so proud of earning in an event 10(?) months ago(my first plane won) and have barely touched since.

I don't think you can expect anything but pain in deathmatch with any fighter or multirole under maybe 1,400 cost - and even then not much else. Depends on who you play with of course but anymore even people right around 1500MR seem to often have 16-1700 planes if not higher. I guess it's more their skill/experience that keeps their MR low. You can perhaps get away with a weak attacker if you get ignored, but weak fighters are about as effective as paper airplanes.

The most amusing of course is when a true beginner tries deathmatch the first time they play the game. If they do really really good in a low-level room that F-4E might get them 1,000 points. I've seen quite a few zeroes. Then again... I've had some games where half-way through I don't have 1,000 points with my best plane . Usually means I've been stuck in tunnel vision trying to shoot down somebody impossible instead of finding targets of opportunity.

I'm not going to venture into PvP dogfights until I have a really good fighter, learn to shake missiles more easily, and actually hit targets with the cannon.

If AC:I would get mode with WWII fighters, I'd own everyone..I'd just go down the Japanese lineup :3 Ki-43-III would shred and outturn everything.

About NTDM prizes, before start to my vacations this morning (will come back in 7 days), I tested MiG-31 Varcolac with Acc L and Comp LL. It got good acceleration and a top speed of 3.094km/h already at level 1. Although I think dimishing return will applied on levelling up and top speed won't increase much.

I ended up in 1028th by the time I got home, so I missed the A-10 but only really wanted the Mig-31 anyway.

Meh, haven't seen anything worthwhile in that store yet since I already own most of the planes they're offering. I regret not buying the Su-24MP they had a while ago thinking I'd save my tickets...I now have over 4000.

A higher starting point than anything should still give it a higher top speed than anything at level 10 vs other level 10 jets.

Oh bummer. I made sure I would qualify for that A-10 and judging by the aircraft's statistics, it's going to be a force.

You never know man, those tickets might just come in handy some day... they may just start selling fuel in the store again!

Yes. For dimishing return I don't mean it stops to improve, it just reduce the improve ratio.
For example, F-22 with same parts got 2.800 top speed at lv1, so 300 km/h difference (random value, don't know precisely). Both lv5 they will do 3.000 and 3.150, so just 175 difference. At lv10 3.100 and 3.225, so just 125. At lv15 3.175 and 3.250, so at the end just 75. As you see, MiG-31 varcolac will be always faster, but the difference itself will continously decrease.
But as you can see, the F-22 itself also decrease the improve ratio, it just decreases later because it gets the "soft cap" points at higher level.
This is also noticeable on Defense.
