Man all this talk about which 3 screen set up to get, being one of the "new poor" in america, Ill just say, I wish I had your problems. As for a good set up I think the guys in this link have everyone beat, I know its not gt5 but pretty cool none the less.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQR49JGySTM

I was texting a friend of mine today and he was lamenting that he's getting bored with FPS and I said that I was sure he wasn't alone and that the future of FPS was definitely a more immersive, interactive environment, perhaps even 360. I'll look like a prophet now when I forward him that video. If I can convince him to set that up in his basement I might get back into it myself...💡

I've done the math on my end and I could get everything I need for triple-screen GT5 goodness for around $600 (2 used PS3's @ $150 each, 2 used 32" tv's for ~$200 each, 2 copies of GT5 @ $40 each). I just don't think I can justify such deliciousness

It sounds like you've more than thought about it haha. Throw a paypal donation link in the OP and see what happens :dopey:

I'm personally a little hesitant on investing all the money needed with GT5's less than desirable network. I wonder if the money would be better spent purchasing a decent computer for PC racing...thinking out loud...

The eagerness to turn in is what kills me with the Alfa, I end up turning too early or getting over confident and leaving it too late. It seems the more aggressive I am with it, the better I drive, which was the opposite of the cappy. If I was aggressive with that, it tried to kill me. I'm still having trouble with it, except that test we did round tokyo. I killed that circuit for some reason.

Well since the topic atm is triple screens I will just contribute one(or 3) more reason for you not to blow your money away, enjoy:

How the 🤬 is that supposed to discourage me?!? Lol The added sense of speed from the side monitors is just incredible and adds so much to the experience. Obviously it wouldn't be quite as good as the triple projector iRacing setup but it would still be an order of magnitude better than what I currently have. That Sebring/iRacing video is the best setup I've seen though, almost looked like a 1:1 scale to real life.

If I invested $600 now I'd probably be able to get almost half that back in a year or two if I decided to sell them or needed the money. Oh crap, now I'm justifying it!!!

Back to Alfa discussion before I do something expensive/stupid.

Just do it... Don't torture yourself. lol

This is where smoothness comes in and using the throttle to control the attitude of the car, something I thought was missing in the Cappy...lol. Messing with the brake balance might help too.

Another tangent...is that your Evo in your Avatar Jeff? Looks real mean, loved that style.

Yes. Thanks, I do believe that was the cars first trip drag racing with me as the owner.

Anyone doing any testing? I need to get used to this car! Haven't yet driven it at all!

^ There might be some tomorrow, I suppose.
Otherwise jump into one of the ORCA lounges, post here and someone might show up.

Id be up to take out the alfas, post here if u wanna get on, I dont want to go upstairs if I dont have to

2.02 seems cool. A lot more options to removed HUD parts. SP kart isn't a shifter. No idea what it is SP.

The SP kart has a different paint scheme. It goes away if you paint it. I am disappoint.

 Sorry, but this really made me laugh.
STI must have an entirely different meaning over here!

STI is the super version of the Subaru WRX. Subaru Technica Internationale

Well, this new update brought some nice features that we'll be able to use for our league but it's also given us one gigantic kick in the crotch; DLC tracks can no longer be raced online by people that don't own the DLC tracks. Since we have Spa as one of our scheduled tracks that puts us in a real bind if some of our racers don't own the track.

This boggles my mind, it has essentially made the DLC tracks next to useless. No A-Spec events for them, no Seasonal events for them and now we can't use them in a league because some people may not own the track. I don't know why I'd even bother buying any new tracks if this is the new policy. Luckily I have Spa scheduled as the final race for the season so maybe this policy will change before we get there, but it looks like I'm going to have to find a "Plan B" track to have as back up since Spa will most likely have to be removed from the schedule. 👎 I'm so massively disappointed by this that I can't even be excited about all the other great features they've added/fixed.

^ I'll have the lounge open tonight but I'll be at work until well after 14:00 GMT. Some of the UK guys might be happy to join up though, you all are welcome to open the ORCA_Champ lounge whenever you want. 👍

We could do for the Nurburgring Race a 1000KM (48 Laps)
And instead of Spa, we could do a 500KM Nurburgring Race (24 Laps)

^ Some of these races take place on school/work nights so we don't do races of that length. Nürburgring is already on the schedule anyway, we won't be going to a track twice.

I can't find details of this anywhere - It's not mentioned in the GTPlanet release and it's not on the gran-turismo.com site either.

Am I being blind? I'm at work so I cannot test this, but if this is true it really is a kick in the nuts.

If you don't have DLC tracks you cant race them online. Confirmed by my friend while in my lounge.

Lots of stuff included that wasn't mentioned in the the release notes.

I guess before I jump off the deep end, I should ask if anybody here does NOT have Spa? If everyone has it we can keep it on the schedule, otherwise it will probably have to be removed.

Do those without the DLC still have access to the Kart seasonal?

RE: SP Kart, glad I didn't paint it last night :)

It is sad but I can see why PD did it from a business side, surprised it wasn't this way from the beginning. Maybe they wanted everyone to try Spa out and now if they still like it they can buy it. I do not see this being reversed by PD.

Reviewing the forum it seems like there's a lot of great additions in this update that weren't mentioned in the official blog; no abs restriction, penalties in free run, more HUD options, increased tire wear, and the list goes on...looking forward to testing things out later.

Brandon, I saw on the official blog that there is now "Improved multi-monitor stability", if that's not a sign I don't know what is...

Has anyone done much actual racing since the update? I'm right in the middle of the new seasonal event right now, and I can't believe how the game has changed...

While racing, it seems like every bump and movement the car makes is so much more exaggerated than before the update... I typically use the "chase" camera view and the difference is unbelievable. The camera seems like it is now fixed to the back of the car instead of just being fixed behind the car, it gave me a headache the first time I raced with it... I tried using the in car view, and everything still seems over-exaggerated.

And the updated sound... When you race, the sound of the tires and cars around you totally cover up the sound of your car... I was having trouble with hitting the rev limiter because I normally shift by the engine note instead of looking at the revs... It's a little better with the in car view, but still not good.

It honestly looks, feels and sounds like a totally different game. It's almost arcade'ish in how it plays compared to before.

Some of this sounds worrying. I'll fire it up when my little one goes down for a nap. I race in cockpit, so I'll report back.

Yeah, I understand why they did it, but it's sad because now Spa/Kart Space are virtually useless to me, as will be any future DLC tracks.

And yes, I thought the same things when I saw the improved multi-monitor stability.

I've never raced with chase cam so I can't comment. But I would say this is as good a time as any to switch to bumper or cockpit view! I had read comments from a lot of people (in the past) that used chase cam asking for this specific change. I look forward to the updated sounds, especially the wind and tire noises, but I will reserve my opinion until I actually experience them.
