I asked yesterday, would you please make a NASCAR style track or two or four ;) with the track creator? 2 turns, 3 turns, 1 turn if even possible? It would make a lot of us NASCAR fans quite happy,

It's not possible to set up road banking from what we've seen.
Also, there are no themes without a grass strip on the external side of the track.
In addition, the track would be subject to elevation changes in odd places.
So I think it's possible by selecting a low number of low complexity sectors to create ovals, but they wouldn't look like actual NASCAR ovals.

The bottom theme looks good enough for NASCAR:

Is it confirmed that aftermarket exhausts changes the sound of the cars? If not , Tekken can you please please please enlighten me about this?
This is all left for me to embrace after all those sad news like rims.

Only very loosely, in my opinion. I don't think it's possible to have satisfactory results with that. I feel it would be good for oval karting tracks, though.

There's your degrees of physics, folks.[/QUOTE]

Those settings set up the amount of driving assist for the wheel, not its physics.
They were in GT4 too.

I was thinking about whether the track would be wide enough for NASCAR, but I posted anyway. If there isn't more themes to be unlocked or DLC then that would have to be it in terms or User-Made NASCAR tracks/ovals.
And I was agree that it would be mainly used for Karting tracks; shame the contrast washes out the text. =/

You can customize the width of the track yourself.

after seening that standard car race at Laguna Seca... CAN SOmeone Please tell me WHat's the point of those Standard Cars Again..... Casue after that Video i think is clear those standard car's dont belong in a (Next Generation Game like GT5) ..*Big fail By PD there* Sorry Guy's...

I thought they looked quite good. Much better than the overreactions of some people would lead me to believe

They sounded great too!

All this from a second hand video too!

Here we go... the Standards are the upscaled GT4 models that didn't make the Premium cut; think of them as add-ons. As for 'What's the point of those Standards Cars', would you rather have 200 Premium-only cars, or 800 Standard-only cars..? Actually, I'd take the former.. Mk nvm :sly:

Naw, I joke. The Standards look and sound good, so what's to worry about?

O.o.. Forgot about this, thanks for that. So, the theme could be used for NASCAR after all 💡
It's indeed possible to increase track width considerably, but without banking it wouldn't be a very interesting oval in my opinion.

It also doesn't look like the whole width of the track is supposed to be used from that course editor theme image (if you've seen the painted lines).
It's also possible that on longer tracks (if it's actually possible to make them actually oval) the road elevation difference will be a problem.

I'm not trying to put your hopes down, but proper NASCAR ovals are more than just oval-shaped tracks.

I know we dont have grandstands and whatnot. But, I really thought they said banking was adjustable? :(

Sure there are flat tracks in NASCAR, they are typically short tracks. Like Martinsville, New Hampshire, today's race at Phoenix, even Indy is looked at as being "flat" by NASCAR fans.

Grandstands and signage would be a nice addition in a patch.

Why not include them? You aren't forced to use them as there are premium cars of all levels in the game. So if you're someone that doesn't like the way that they look then you never have to drive one. However if you're someone that doesn't mind how they look then you can drive them. I'm personally going to stick to premium cars, but I don't really see a problem with the standard cars being included.

Well I'm not saying that you're wrong but if I have to choose between 200 cars or 200 cars + 800 less polished, I choose the 2nd one!

I kind of wonder how much time and money it took to bring those 800 cars to the PS3 and if those resources could have been used to bring out more premiums?

Yes i agree on the fact that those standard car's Sound and look good .. But on the damage front .. its bumper Cars's all over again?.. i thought that we got pass that..*This Generation*.. but i guess PD just cant let go of the bumper car's in the gt series ...:dopey:

Did you see mechanical damage in any of those videos?

that's true... but now I think it's too late to think about that, the game is due out in 10 days, but if you ask me now if I'd prefer 200 cars or 200+800 I choose the 2nd, don't you?

Weeeeeell, I think (keyword, think) that this is not the real deal (keyword, THINK). Don't say 'Oh you always stick up for PD saying it's not the complete game!' because I don't, but seriously, when PD promises something on 24 (odd) different localized versions of their website, then it's probably true. Mechanical damage is expected now, and I think that could be a shock to fans if it isn't included. GT2 did this, so why can't GT5? Oh, and don't go on about the fact it's the *Next Generation*, I know that, but that's the point; it was possible two 'generations' ago.

Well, it depends. Most of the standard cars, I have thoroughly played through, and I rather have more recent cars than I have played. Plus, the customization options on standards looks severely limited. If I could pump out an extra 150 premiums in place of the 800 standards, I would do it.

What you played means nothing because all the cars will handle differently giving you a new experience. 👍

Absolutely! Even 50 premiums in place of the 99% of standards would be fine for me, I'm the first to complain about the lack of '09/'10 cars but what I meant is that now the game is done and the only thing we can do is hope in DLCs.... so standards are welcome (for now I hope:nervous:)

Thanks heaps for the videos Tekken!!

Just wondering if you, or anyone else, knows what features they've included with the top gear track? Can you compare your lap time to the stig/celebrities for that specific car? I guess you could do it manually by just checking on the net..
The track is available during arcade mode and not just the special racing event right?
Thanks!

Thanks for the videos. Can you get a video of some muscle cars in action? I would like to hear them to see if they can properly simulate a V8 now.
