There are many excellent threads discussing this race already and some threads giving definitive "how to win" statements, most of which requires cars some will not have access to at this point. That is not the purpose of this thread - this thread is designed to help you win with what you have access to, without a raft of settings that might be confusing but with general advice and more specific vehicle help.

General Information
The event information recommends you use 2 Bobs and of level 35 or higher. Neither of these is truly necessary, but both will help. If you do not yet have Bobs of this level, I recommend running the other B-Spec Online Seasonal Event, using JGTC cars at Spa-Francorchamps, first. That race is much easier and can be won with a relatively low level Bob using a 600PP Honda NSX (there's one available in the OCD right now), starting on Intermediate tyres and cancelling any attempt to stop for new tyres (which will happen at the end of lap 7). A Bob with the 200% bonus available to him will net 700,000xp for that race and it'll level him up to the 30s pretty quick.
Cars
There are a number of cars available for the event - essentially anything up to 700PP is eligible - but few competitive choices:

General Information
- KNOW YOUR RACE - The race is 10 laps long, uses the Circuit de la Sarthe/Change Weather/Change Time course and comprises a grid of 11 AI LMP1, LMP900 and GT1 class cars from the last 20 years. The race starts out dry and in the daytime but it starts to rain about 3 minutes into the race and stops raining with a peak surface water level of 63% at about 20 minutes into the race - for most cars this spell requires Race Intermediate tyres. The circuit then dries towards the end, reaching 30% or so by the finish. The last lap is quite hard on Race Intermediate tyres and even tyres with half their life left may be burned out by the finish.[*]KNOW YOUR OPPONENTS - The AI can be divided into three distinct groups:
- The pack of cars that will lead the rest home will generally consist of the Bentley Speed 8, the Audi R8 '01, the Audi R8 Oreca '05 and the Pescarolo GV5 '04 - sometimes the Pescarolo Hybride '05 too.
- The middle pack of the Peugeot 905 '92, the Mazda 787B and the BMW V12 LMR, along with the Pescarolo Hybride '05, will commonly finish some tens of seconds further back.
- The third pack are also-rans, made up of the Mercedes CLK-LM, the Toyota TS020, the Nissan R390, the Pescarolo Courage '03 and the Audi R10 '06.
Typically the lead AI will be one of the Audis or the Bentley and they will reach the finish in a race time of 40'31s or thereabouts. This is an average, including pit stops, of 4'03 laps. This equates to an average flying lap time of 3'57.[*]KNOW YOUR GRIDS - Having the Peugeot 905 at the head of the grid is good, as it will back the lead pack up. Try to get a grid that doesn't include the BMW V12 LMR as it is extremely aggressively driven and an excellent all-rounder - it will hold you up at first and then it will pass you again. Without this in the field, you can reach the lead pack and stay with them more easily. The 14th grid after booting the game up is ideal.[*]KNOW YOUR STRATEGY - All B-Spec Bobs will want to join their friends in the pits on laps 3 and 9. If your strategy does not include pitting on these laps you will need to keep an eye on the yellow "P" indicator next to Bob's mood bar and cancel his pit stop if it lights up. It will typically light up as he leaves the Ford Chicanes and heads to the line on lap 2 (for a stop on lap 3) and can occur anywhere on track on lap 9. Bringing Bobs into the pits immediately behind or in front of other cars can cause problems as he is held up negotiating the pit entry, waiting in his box for other cars to come past or getting held up by cars being released from their box. There are three common strategies:- No-stopping - Do the whole race on one set of tyres. This generally only works with the Chaparral 2J due to its weight and outstanding aerodynamic grip.
- One-stopping - Bringing the car in on lap 3 or 4 and changing to Race Intermediate tyres, then running those to the end of the race. The last lap can be quite tricky, particularly if you've pitted earlier, as it is phenomenally hard on the Inters.
- Two-stopping - Bringing the car in on lap 2 or 3 for Race Intermediate tyres and then again on lap 8 either for Race Hards (risky - you'll need to know how your car works on these tyres in those conditions) or Race Intermediates. This strategy can be worth 10-15 seconds over one-stopping and recommended if you're in need of small margins of time.
Cars
There are a number of cars available for the event - essentially anything up to 700PP is eligible - but few competitive choices:
- Chaparral 2J '70 - This is the event's trollcar. Many users report significant success running this on a single, long run on Sports Soft tyres without pitting, even with lower level Bobs. This is not a viable option for most people, since the car is phenomenally expensive. You can, of course, borrow one from anyone on your Friends list who has set one to share. If you just want to win the race, do this and ignore everything written above as irrelevant.
- Audi R8 (Audi Playstation Team Oreca) '05 - This is probably the best all-rounder in the field, with plenty of power and available downforce. It may need a subtle engine limiter adjustment to get it down to the 700PP, but nothing else should need doing. This has the advantage of being available in the OCD right now for 4,000,000 credits - and that's the prize money you get at 200% for the Spa Seasonal. The generally accepted technique is to run the car to the end of lap 3 (probably in 5th-7th place) on Race Hards, change to Race Intermediates (and another Bob if you wish) and run to the end. If you don't get caught up racing the lead pack, they will pit right in front of you on lap 9 and you can stroll to the win keeping Bob cool on lap 10. I have one set to Share on my account for anyone on my Friends list.
- Audi R8 '01 - Fewer reports of success with this, but it is certainly capable of a win, if not necessarily as easily as the '05.
- Bentley Speed 8 '03 - The Bentley is as capable of a win as the Audi R8 '01, though there are very few reported attempts.
- Pescarolo C60 Hybride–Judd '05 - Slightly down on pace compared to the R8 '05 in the AI hands, this should be capable of a Bob victory. Again, rare reportsyet.
- Pescarolo Courage-Judd GV5 '04 - As above, but with the advantage of being available in the OCD right now for 4,000,000 credits - and that's the prize money you get at 200% for the Spa Seasonal.
- Mazda 787B '91 - A Premium alternative and always available as a result. Only a handful of reports of success, but again this runs with or close to the lead pack and shouldn't be an issue with a good Bob.
- Toyota TS020 GT-One '99 - Another car that needs little modification. With good Bobs who can pass well and the absence of the BMW V12, the Toyota can win in stock form (with a little added downforce to help through Porsche Curves and gearing lengthened to help on the straights). The technique of a pitstop on lap 3 for Intermediates and running to the end of the race works just as well here.
- BMW V12 LMR '99 - Good grip, good pace and reasonable tyre wear give the BMW a good chance of winning if you can avoid being blocked by the AI. Stock gearing is a little short, but otherwise this is another out-of-the-box winner.
- Peugeot 908 HDI FAP Team Oreca Matmut/Team Peugeot Total '10 - Tricky to win. Another Premium alternative, though only one report of success using it. The Peugeot has unrivalled (disregarding the Chaparral) grip and is the quickest way from the Porsche Curves right up to Tertre Rouge, but has little straight line pace and a lot of low end torque making the drive out of slow, wet corners occasionally tricky and tyre-shredding. It does seem to have good tyre life despite this.
- Pescarolo Courage-Peugeot '03 - Tricky to win. Poor in AI hands due to gearing. Almost no attempts or success recorded (it's the slowest of the three and not in the OCD at the moment, so no shock there), but stands a chance of doing a job with better gears.
- Nissan R390 GT1 '98 - Unlikely to win, though better Bobs may see some joy. Just about on a par with the TS020, but enough behind to make all the difference.
- Toyota Minolta 88C-V '89- Unlikely to win (no reports of success yet). Overpowered and underweight and prone to lighting up the tyres out of corners. Extremely fast in a straight line and all but uncatchable even with drafting if it gets the power down right.
- Sauber C9 '89 - Unlikely to win even with very high level Bobs. Overpowered, so it's excellent on the straights even for lower level Bobs - so devastatingly fast that it can break the slipstream - but it will chew its tyres out of every corner. Avoid.
- Mercedes CLK-LM/CLK-GTR '98 - Unlikely to win due to weight, downforce and tyre wear. A good challenge, but ultimately a hair slower than the R390. Might be possible with excellent Bobs.
- Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car - Unlikely to win due to weight and tyre wear, but good grip. If you really want a challenge, and your Bobs are awesome give it a go, but don't say I didn't warn you!
- Nissan GT-R R35 TC - Unlikely to win again due to weight and tyre wear. However, the 4WD makes it devastating in corners especially in the wet and one of the few cars that'll effectively pass leaving bends rather than into them or through them. Possible, but a massive challenge. One report of a victory, amazingly!
- Audi R10 TDI '06 - Unlikely to win. Dog slow. Avoid.
- Toyota 7 '70 - WILL NOT WIN. Even slower. Avoid.
- Peugeot 905 '92 - No reports. Unknown
- Jaguar XJR-9 LM '88 - No reports. Unknown
- Nissan R89C '89 - No reports. Unknown
