With a new baby you still have time to measure Bob's braking distance in pixels.

Baby loves a bit of GT5. She's enthralled by a silver chromed Lexus V8 Racing Concept :D I don't know if it's the V8 sound or the girl-magpie response to shiny things, but it does the trick...

I don't even know what you're talking about! :D lol
Where are these braking stats, and how do you measure them with a ruler???

All I know is that every car was braking much later than my bob, and passing.

If you go to your main Bob Stable (helmet icon in GT Life), each Bob has green bars for "Speed", "Physical Strength" and "Mental Strength". If you click on a Bob, "Speed" is broken down into "Braking", "Cornering" and "Acceleration", each with its own green bar.

I'm working on a Theory of Bob at the moment, regarding training and abilities, so this is worth checking out :D

Some more reports:

With level 39 and 37 Bobs:

Jaguar XJR9: This was a pure comedy race, I'm pretty certain that Muttley was s******ing throughout ;) Started off slow, but received a boost when the 787B crashed at Mulsanne on lap 2, bumping me up a place. Pitted on lap 3 and I think I was 4th at that point but with no pace and the tyres going off quickly, it looked like a lost cause. Pitted again on lap 8 for more Inters, then the fun began. On their in-lap, the R8 '01, Speed 8 and Pesky Judd GV5 were 3-abreast going into Mulsanne. The Pesky was the sole survivor, and came out of the pits a few seconds ahead of me. Then he got seriously sideways at Tertre Rouge, which allowed Bob to get in his slipstream and pass. I was trying like mad to slow Bob down after this, as the tyres were going bad. Bob then cunningly allows the Pesky to slipstream him all the way to Mulsanne. The Pesky has no chance to scrub off the extra speed and so Bob is left to limp home on rubbish tyres, laughing his head off at all the carnage. The winning time was 41:05, easily the slowest I have ever recorded, but in any normal race, this car is not going to win.

Pescarolo Judd GV5: This car doesn't usually win in the hands of the AI, but it's up there with the best when Bob gets his hands on it. Pitted on lap 3 from 3rd, but the leaders were trolled in the pit lane by one of the slower cars coming in to pit and so Bob received a free pass into 1st place. He duly took full advantage, putting in a series of fast laps and pitting in again for inters on lap 9, by which time Team Bob was 30 seconds up. Took the chequered flag in a time of 40:03, and the AI hadn't even finished by the time the results screen disappeared. Go and buy this car, it's in the OCD.

One of the Bobs levelled up, so with level 39 and 38 Bobs:

Pescarolo Courage-Peugeot '03: I had high hopes for this car, seeing how well the other Peskys perform, and that it's only problem for the AI seems to be a too-short gearbox. However, it is actually rubbish. Or maybe it just needs a good tune. First race: pitted on laps 3 and 8, lost by 6 seconds but the AI time wasn't particularly fast at 40:42. 2nd race: pitted on 2 and 8, lost by 30 seconds to the AI time of 40:32, but I did lose 15 seconds to a Mulsanne crash on that one. Possible to win with a better tune, or better luck (see the Jag race above). Easily the worst of the 3 Peskys.

Sauber C9: Lots of horsepower but you're going to need to detune it to get under 700pp. First race stopped on 3 and 8, lost by 11 seconds to an AI time of 40:41. Tyres looked good though so I lost some DF, added ballast and upped the power quite a bit. 2nd race stopped on 2 and 8, lost 11s to a crash and lost the race by 20 seconds to a AI time of 40:46. This time, the tyres were awful.

Mark up another win for the R8 Oreca PlayStation & lower level bobs - I finally took my first victory last night with two Bobs rated 28 (cold)p & (29 hot).

Started on SH pitted lap two from 5th place for inters & the 29 Bob. Pitted again on lap 7 because the tyres were shot & Bob was knackered. Stayed on inters for the final stint but the original Bob didn't seem to match the pace he showed at the start of the race in fact I pretty much had to manage him through every major corner. Stayed in 10th place until everybody pitted on lap nine. Then I just nursed him home for the win

I found in the last stint that if bob went to far into the red he'd bin it at the tight right hander at the end of the long straightsso kept him at around 65% as he did give me a minor heart attack on lap 8!

Great post guys I think I've enjoyed this seasonal more than any other!

Oh by the way I didn't see many people posting up what car they got with their level 23 ticket which I was very curious about before starting to read this thread so if anyone else is wondering I got a '92 Nissan R92CP race car.

Oh, I've never looked at that stuff. Very interesting. I assume my "braking" bar is way out of whack... I'll have to see what my best bob is :)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Tried the Ford GT again, with some good bobs. Pitted on 3 and 9, with the rest, and coming out of the pits on the last lap, I was first. The Audi passed me, but then spun in Mulsanne, so I though I was in the clear. At the end of the straight, bob f#$ed it up; went slightly into the sand/grass, then decided to just cruise at 80km/h, letting 2 people pass. He then decided to crash/spin on every subsequent corner, regardless of how low the bar was (probably got to do with his "hot" attitude). It's probably a combination of a) a hot bob, b) racing hard tires on lap 10, c) not pacing down enough.

What a shame... I was this close... :(

The BMW V12 LMR is a likely candidate to win
Won in 40:32.909 +4.075 ahead of second which was the Bentley
Bobs were level 34 and 35
I Pitted with the rest of the AI by time 3rd lap came i was 5th, for the rest 4th-7th lap i let my driver coast along with the lead pack close enough not to let them out of my sights, by 5th and 6th lap i passed the audi and 787b easily, by 7th and 8th passed the pescarolo GV5 and Bentley, now by 8th lap me and the Bentley were battling out while closing the gap on first place, well on the straights the Bentley lost my draft and i was able to cool my driver a bit, now first was easy since the C60 Hybride can't handle his tires almost burned out and spun out Mulsanne, scared me cause he took me out with him, so that left the bentley and me, 10th lap just keep my driver pace below 50% around 45%, and won with no issues what so ever.

Just tried with my 2J (Stage 3 turbo, SS tires whole time, top speed set to 230 with 220 actual), made sure I got 1st place by the AI's first pit, then left alone. Come back on lap 8 and I'm in 5th and 50+s behind the first place R8 '01.

My bob was 36. Gonna try again with RH + RI and see if I can get it.

Raise top speed to 260ish and babysit a little and you should be good. I made 1 stop @ lap 6 or 7 for fresh shoes and won handily

Yeah, just won it with a pit from RH to RI at the end of lap 2, then keeping him exactly center on the bar as soon as he got first.

I think what happened on the other run was that he pitted and I didn't catch it to stop him.

Hello.

I was used my max tuned GT-R R35 TC. I was use one pit strategy. Changing tyres and ad few liters of fuel. Easy money :)

Just beat it w 29 & 30 bobs in R8 playstation. Started w sport softs, pitted on 4/5, changed to intermittents and stayed on them till finish-they were shot at finish line! Was in first going into pits and reentered in 5th pulled to w/i 5 seconds of lead when rest of field pitted on 9th. Coasted home with 25 second lead. Won Esperante POS.

1st attempt win with 30 and 31 bobs with a Bentley speed 8

pit on 2-3 and 7-8, got home with little rubber left so guess its better to pit on 8-9.

setup I used for the Bentley is from praiano63

----------------

Downforce 60/85

LSD Rear 08/22/10

Ride Height -20/ -10

Spring Rate 13.8/14.0
Extension 9/4
Compression 8/4
Anti-roll bars 3/4

Camber 2.2/1.8
Toe -0.08/+0.16

Brake Balance 4/5

--------------------

Motor set to 79.8% to get the 700rp and used standard transmission settings with a topspeed of 390kmh and kept the Bob's on 60-70% driver change on the last pit only.

Is there any way to win w/o 2J????

Yes. Read the guide in the first post which also includes guides to all the cars and listed victories with pit strategies.

This is literally the point of the thread. I did quite a bit of typing so that no-one would have to ask this question ever again.

Famine,

Regarding your opening post - "Nissan R92CP - no reports, unknown"

Please can I bring to your attention that this was the only car I've managed to win in, after trying with a number of others - post #77 on the thread. (lvl 38 & 40 drivers), pit on lap 2 and 7, RH-RI-RI.

Added. Do you have any general words about the car?

Also, is your username based on a supercharged V6, by any chance?

Woops sorry i forgot to say i pitted at the end of 9th lap for RI since my tires were almost dead with the other AI and that i had 765hp at beginning of the race and 767hp at end and weight was 900kg

anyone tried Peugeot 908? the 4m credit premium one?

Look 6 posts above yours and you find a huge post about strategies and whatever with this car. I dunno which one you plan on taking, I did it with the Total 908, but I assume the two 908's in the game are the same or very similar in their performance.

In short: The 908 can grant you a very easy win with the right strategy.:)

@ Famine: I think you can remove the "tricky to win" at the 908 in your OP. When I used mine I won by 9 seconds, which should've been around 20 if my driver wouldn't have spun off at Mulsanne in lap 9.:) I was leading comfortably the entire race. Full report on the previous page of this thread.:)

@ kj_mil: How did you win with the R92CP? I tried it once but gave up during the first lap on Hunaudieres already. My driver (lvl 39 at the time, or already lv 40) managed to spin off the track at every corner. So I'm really curious how you got your drivers so good to win with it.:D

Not all Bobs are created equal. My pair of retards are level 39 and 38 and couldn't win with a 908 if you put them against Subaru 360s - so despite the high levels, a win isn't on the cards. I take my two idiots to be representative of idiot Bobs and on the basis that an easy win should be easy, the 908 isn't - certainly not compared to the 2J, R8s, Pescarolos and the BMW.

I suspect it's because there's no windows for them to lick.

I'm getting closer. I managed a 40:56 in the Ford GT, and only 14s off of first. I had my aggressive bob until lap 3, did a pit to change to RI and my "good" bob, and then ran until lap 8. I was just behind 2nd place, and decided to pit on 8, instead of chasing the lead. I put on some new RI, but kept the same bob, then kept him cool for the last two laps, and I didn't spin. I just couldn't make up the time. I'm thinking now, I should have stayed out one more lap before pitting, and maybe then I could either beat the lead out of the pits, or have my presence behind them make them spin.

I'm stubborn, and I refuse to think this is unwinnable in the Ford GT :)

Oh, seriously? I linked you to the first page of this thread for a reason...

Yes. Read the guide in the first post which also includes guides to all the cars and listed victories with pit strategies.
