ALMS Season V

Damn! Router rebooted, got kicked! First time I've ever been kicked from a hosted race here. :( Glad it's only pre-season.

Darn, I forgot today was race day (technically) :grumpy:

So as a response, I've added this series onto the Online Race calendar, so feel free to use it as a little snooze button ;)

I've won in the GT Class! I closed down a 20 second gap and turned it into a 5-10 second lead, which means the Viper is looking strong for the season. Good racing all of you guys. I hope DRC will be this exciting.

Saw most of the race, great battle between TG2 and stormy early on. TG2 had the vette rocking on his first stint, i was impressed. Sin looks really good in the Ford, perhaps this car will suit him better than the previous 2 season i saw him. GH was super fast in the viper, going 60mph or better through the corkscrew, literally throwing it through there.

I tried doing a few laps just for fun and i suck haha, too much iracing has transformed me.

Laguna definitely favors the Viper and Ford though.
What was LMP like?

That's also my excuse Kevin. ;)

Results anyone? Wow that was embarrassing. a second slower than Sin's race pace on my flying lap. I probably need a tune and some practice.

You were so happy in the Star Mazda test. Shame you had to leave so soon, too. Aesys says "I'm in. I'm sure that this series is going to be fun."

Now, we just need to figure out the tune for Laguna Seca. The bumps continually rotate the car so quickly.

Anyways, good job, man!

Yeah ghs good job. Sorry I got grumpy about the honk. It was a misunderstanding, I was trying to get off line because my tires were completely gone and that narrow windy road up to the corkscrew leaves very little passing room. I tried to get off line for you and let you get right to take your corkscrew apex, but I ended up holding you up instead. Sorry about that.

For the most part my race was very clean and the LMPs did a super professional job at passing. I think the pros belong in that class, honestly, guys like Marl and Seth and even the new guys (forgot their names sorry). Everyone was patient and when the took chances we both gave room, or I would take a late apex to give LMP the inside line, or what have you. Hard to stay out of each others' bodywork on a track like Seca, but we managed. Good race, everyone, even though I sucked.

haha, if anyone sucked it was my ferrari... gearbox whine gave me a headache, lost 10 minutes trying to find my headache medicine..

Yeah I couldn't take the annoying whine on my Viper so I added a sports exhaust to give it a meatier sound and it drowns out the whine quite well.

Was a good race, I pulled away because I made no major mistakes. My pole time was 1:15.2xx so after the race I tested the rest of the LMP's. All of them were within a half second, all in the 1:15's on my first lap. So if you get a tune down for these LMP's, anyone of them can compete. Consistency is key.

How about a preseason race at Indy Road. Do we really need another one after that? Anyone have any major complaints about LMPs especially? If not I say let's cut preseason short and move on to the points races ASAP.

What an awesome finish for the GT class at Mosport!

Having been there, on the start/finish at Mosport, and having finished second there, I know Mosport pretty well. I saw an iRacing video. It brought me back to standing on the start/finish there. The recreations are incredible.

Who won?

BMW? :D

ESM Ferrari? :DDDDD

:sly:
And that was SUCH a divebomb by Van Overbeek.
Pic big enough?

Flying Lizard put on one hell of a show in the closing stages, but the ESM Ferrari got the Vette on a bold dive to the inside of turn 5b, I think it was 5b, on their final lap! Very exciting!
