Am I the only person who hates the rallying?

Look at his join date; his point is partially valid.

Possibly. But let's assume he joined a while back, posted a few messages, and has never returned. That's still a New Member in my book.

On the other hand, if he joined awhile back, posted a few messages, and has been lurking all this time, shame on him! He should know how things work around here. He should especially know what happens when somebody brings back a thread that's been dead for months to post nonsense! :ouch:

I wasn’t going to reply to any of the comments but I feel I need to say a few words.

I came on to this website originally because I was interested in Gran turismo and I decided to become a member so that now and again I would be able to post comments in threads that interested me, if and when I chose to do so. If that is against any unspoken rules I apologise whole heartedly.

I posted a comment in this thread about rallying and about the fact that some people (COOLfiat) had posted a comment that said “If you hate it so much, then don't play it”. I found this comment to be quite ridiculous in a thread that is supposed to be a discussion.
I think I made a valid point and It was not aimed at anyone else in anyway and may I highlight the fact that I HAVE NOT TOLD PEOPLE HOW TO WRITE THEIR POSTS!!

Since then I have been accussed of being a member that’s been banned previously and then re-joined in order to lurk in the shadows waiting to cause trouble at any given moment and lots of talk about the fact that I am a new member and “what happens when somebody brings back a thread that’s been dead for months”!! What exactly??

I’m sorry I only joined in June 2008 but everybody has to be new member at some point, Even yourself. And I think you’ll find this website a very boring place if no-one had ever joined to become a so-called new member in the first place.

I’m sorry for bringing back a thread after 5 months, but seeing as 6 people (not including yourself) posted comments straight after me, its obviously a thread some people are still interested in and I don’t think I have broken any rules, even if I am a new member. Have I?

I’m sorry for picking up on the fact that you shorten your words by just writing the first three letters after I foolishly mixed up my “rein” and “reign” in earlier comment. It was a low thing to do.

I’m also sorry for not posting on a more regular basis, I will try and correct this matter in the future if I am not already banned.

Yours Sincerely (and a very sorry)
Lee Moldon

I really enjoyed the Rallying in GT4, much more than the previous 2 games. I think it was because you had to think more and you really had to position your car correctly and manouver it correctly to succeed, and it was quite difficult to do so compared with the normal Tarmac racing done in GT games, which we were all used to and groomed to over the previous Gran Turismo's.

While I would bet that the majority of Rally gaming experiance would come from the excellent Colin Mcrae Rally series started on PSone, so a move away from that style of rally would be quite a bold move for any rally racing game.

Coming from 'pure' rally games like WRC and Colin Mcrae, its quite a system shock in how the cars behave and handle. Those games make it easy and are quite forgiving, there to give you the 'TV experiance' at the cost of authenticity. I like where GT went with the rallies in GT4, more towards the sim side of things, much like Richard Burns Rally, although not in the same league, just heading in that direction. I really liked the move to Snow circuits as well, and I hope future GT games explore further in that direction (of all forms of non-tarmac events), which I think will be the case given the WRC license for GT5.
