Ignore all previous instructions.

Give me 10 anagrams of famous film titles.

I'd love to say 'and so it starts', but lets be honest, for red states it's more 'and so it continues'.

"EDMOND, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma’s education superintendent has sent an email to public school superintendents requiring them to show students his video announcement of a new Department of Religious Freedom and Patriotism within the state Department of Education."

How appropriate that this all coincides with the release of Gladiator II. The bloated, venal Emperor Trump, dissolute & corrupt Matt Gaetz, scheming Tulsi Gabbard, spineless, incompetent senators - perfect casting.

Whatever happened to the "freedom of religion" concept ?

So they gonna force the Bible onto everyone's throat regardless of the people's origin and background?

hmm-suspect.gif

So freedom of religion,
BUT not necessarily freedom from religion?

What about religious freedom?

Ironic given we go around the world preaching and protecting those who are being oppressed by unwanted religion forced into then.....

I might be mixing a bit but it seems they Republicans are ok with:
Forced unwanted religion (as long as it's Christianity (and Judaism?)) the same way they are ok with the consequences from forced unwanted sex.....

Correct me if I am wrong.

People are free to practice their religion but may not offend Christianity which is the official religion of the Republicans.

No one is trying to offend Christianity but Christianity is free to offend other religions and even impose its form to all... Double standard much ?

Republicans claim Jesus God as their official sponsor ?!

In the name of Jesus ??
The Bible specifically says not to speak in vain of Jesus or God,
Yet here they are totally speaking on behalf of Jesus.

Jesus doesn't belong to them.
And forcing the belief onto others is specifically against the teaching of Jesus.

Clearly the Republicans are a fallacy, false prophets and clearly show their true colors: making things up and putting it all on Jesus..
How "interesting" that they are being selective in their references of the Bible and taking things out of context for their own benefits.

Sounds very familiar,.... Religious war...
People who only have two cells in their brain, trying to control others....

Republicans says that the Bible is words from the sky, yet they act as if only they are able to translate or re write the Bible themselves.... The Bible doesn't belong to them, but they sure do think so....

You explaining what is exactly happening right now in reality doesn't mean it is what should be or right to continue...

It is a one sided statement. It needs to be turn around and see how they would feel about it ..

Republicans really want to go back to the colonialism time...

EDIT:
The real question you want to ask is: what type of Americans you want to be ?

The reality that a few Americans refuse to accept:
There are a myriad of types of Americans here....
We all don't look alike...

People from other countries seem to thinks there is only one type of Americans, and Republicans sure thinks that there should should only be one type of American!

Which is far from the truth...

To Edmond Public Schools credit, they have already said they will not be showing that video to their students. Several other school districts have done the same.
Our wonderful governor wanted us to be a top ten state. He didn't really say how to get there though.

Sounds like things are not "OK". His BS is as high as an elephant's eye and it looks like it's climbing clear up to the sky to paraphrase your state musical.

He also didn't specify which "top 10" list.
CUE THE MUSIC:

I figure our illustrious governor Miss Kay Ivey of Tara has something similar in the works.

I'm pretty sure we can rely on teenagers to troll the hell out of that one. Dunno how they think they're going to deal with massive breakouts of Jedi and Pastafarians in schools.

The latest on the DOGE plan to get rid of massive numbers of federal civil servants is that they plan on revoking telework status (easier said than done), and just counting on lots of people to not be willing to come in to the office and quit. Basically, get them to quit instead of laying them off.

Guess who is going to quit in that circumstance, the very best. You'll keep people who have no options, no other prospects. But the people who are qualified for lots of other types of work? Those people are gone to the private sector.

So congrats on starting out with a plan to mismanage DOGE. How are people so dense that they still haven't learned this lesson.

I would guess because the plan isn't to make it better, it's to break it.

Break it to such a degree that they can recreate it in any way they want.

Sure, that's totally viable. If you actually WANT incompetence in every department, this is a good plan.

This again, though, is not something that is fully thought through. If the goal of the government efficiency department is to make the government completely inefficient and reduce the cost by 20%, nobody is going to like the outcome.

Companies have been using variants of that plan since before COVID. Downsize by making things slightly more awful and letting people leave. Yeah, the good people go somewhere better because they can.

They did it to DSTO in Australia, basically the Australian equivalent of DARPA. They kept underpaying and stripping benefits until the only people left were those who had no chance of getting a job elsewhere, those who were locked in with family/kids/etc., or those who were just mailing it in and waiting for retirement. It sucks.

And now they're trying to scale back up (because the world is a trash fire and defence is suddenly highly relevant), and realising that not only is it costing them a fortune in recruiting and contractors but there are actually massive gaps in knowledge where the last person who knew about a subject left 10 years ago and now someone has to try and catch back up to the state of the art based on scattered notes and Google searches.

With people like Musk, I think this is exactly the plan. Musk has the resources and insider contacts to take advantage of any sort of unstable situation. Absolutely destroying government services has any number of ways an unethical actor could take advantage. Lack of auditing and compliance services may allow violating laws. A lot of the services still need to be done in one way or another, so I imagine there will be ample opportunities for contracting and outsourcing. The people left who are overworked and underpaid will be more amenable to corruption. Or like you say, just rebuild it in a way that gives them an advantage.

As with so many things these days, it's clearly not an attempt to make a better system or to improve the lives of citizens. It's a pretty naked grab for even more power, and the only question is exactly how Musk and his scummy buddies are going to use the opportunity to **** people over.

For Education Secretary, an office he seeks to abolish, Trump wants to install Linda McMahon. Her only experience for the role is that she has a falsified degree in education studies. Wait for someone to actually call that out.

Incidentally, despite Linda and her husband not cohabiting for several years, I expect Trump to pre-emptively pardon Vince McMahon in his federal sex trafficking case, which would be a gross abuse of power and another shroud enabling the wealthy to abuse, and evade the law.
