The first US case was January 21st. A person that had just returned from Wohan. I guess you would have him shut down the whole economy right then.
He set up the task force 8 days later on January 29th. I wonder what their job was? Perhaps to prepare for testing, and containment measures?
Two days after that he put the travel ban in place. Maybe he should have shut the economy down instead. Of course the first death in the US didn't happen until a month later on February 29th. Surly after one person died, we should all have been ordered to stay at home.
No one in the US had died, the experts said there was little threat. He is the President, not an epidemiologist, and not a prognosticator. Containment was the message. MERS, and Ebola had both been contained, there was no reason to think this could not also be contained.
The Chinese Communist Party and the WHO lied about the virus, that is why US health officials were caught off guard.
Yeah, that is a real fact, but it means nothing. Perhaps if the general public weren't so gaslighted by the press they wouldn't feel that way.
From February 4:
WHO urges against China travel bans as coronavirus cases soar past 20,000
It's not clear what you are trying to say...
... but it seems you got it all wrong.
1) You dont wait until you see the first death in the US in order to start deciding when to shut down and contain the whole thing, you do it immediately by looking and learning from other countries and what the situation is/was... by end of January, we already had a map of how the illness was/had travel across continents
2) Task force was created, but what did they do exactly as you have said... what? Trying to decide not to shut down the country? I thought Trump was a fervent proponent for closing down the borders asap ... why didn't he do it then?
We all already knew that shutting down the country would have lasting effect, yes we all agree, BUT that task force CLEARLY forgot to think that shutting down the country later ONLY when the illness has already widespread reaches all across the country; THAT is way worse, and that is the route they mistakenly took...
That right there is the #1 failure of that president and the task force... they acted too late, when they already had all the warning and information necessary.
When the actual lock down of the country was announced, (whenever that was, i dont have the date), it was only damage control... For a country such as this, this is FAILURE... we are smart enough for a country we should have had done PREVENTION instead of damage control.
Tell me where that administration has correctly acted ? answer: they have not.
A lock down was inevitable... doing it early to prevent was the only right answer...
Ordering a lock down after the fact, and when the virus has already spread is the wrong answer to the problem... We are ending up doing more work now due to the lock down than had we prepared ourselves and contained it early on.
It's not rocket science and this administration failed. Period.
trump could have come out of this strong and smart, but no... this country is not a leader in anything at this point, except in number of deaths and affected...
Edit: Trump is responsible for all the deaths.
