FTFY. Ngo has been shown to be lying about so many things at this point, I can't believe anybody would trot him out as a source of anything.
Says you, and someone else. Show me or shut up.

The stuff I posted from him looked factual. I don't know if he lied in the past. I know he wasn't lying in my posts

I can't know for sure, and you can call me pessimistic, but as a foreign observer my prediction is that absolutely nothing will change about reducing institutional racism in the US after this.

The amount of people that are leaving their homes peacefully to show their support of change is a clear indicator that the social contract is being torn by those who have the monopoly of the legitimate use of physical force, and by the judiciary system as a whole. The flourish of violence, looting and vandalism, although absolutely reprehensible, also corroborates to this.

But with the talking points focusing more about the agitators and looters, it will be easy, for those who are racist, or the condescending, or the sympathetic, or those who don't give a damn, or even those who dream of a policialesque state, to hide and suppress any conversation about honest justice and police reform.

I don't have too much access to US media, but I can expect that nothing is being deeply discussed about reforms. In the social medias, it's quite noticeable that the news with higher engagement are being deeply filtered by confirmation bias. All Republicans are racists, all Democrats are commies.

My bets are:

1- Trump will play the supreme leader card while doing nothing good for your society (probably tweeting in the WH bathroom, or golfing) or only pleasing his extremist supporters, throwing the Republican Party even more to the far-right. I can see dog-whistles of racism happening too.

2- The Democrats, especially the corporatists, will do their appearances with null statements, while will never create realistic proposals for change, and will keep being complacent with police violence and abuse when in power.

3- The police will deploy their military toys to suppress the protesters, and return to normality.

4- The corporate media will be filled by conversations about racism... with denialists, or hacks that know nothing and only wants to appear on TV to sell their books, or to get a political appointment. I can see lobbyists doing this too.

5- No decent new law, training or procedures will be implemented. If it happens, it will be local.

6- Military spending will skyrocket again, specially for police forces.

7- The Assassin will be acquitted. Or will get a minimal sentence.

Why do I think this? Because here is the same.

But I definitely hope that I eat my words.

Wouldn't expect a Trumpist to understand the importance of the source they get their information from.
What is wrong with the information from Andy Ngô that I posted? What? I have probably posted stuff from CNN and other sources that publish crap. If I thought this content was crap I would not have posted it.
Really? Really??
Have you no sence of humor?

I found this kind of interesting. The Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown thinks that those who started the riots in SLC yesterday were from out of state. The arrest records that were released show that those were actually detained were from the area, but they only arrested 46 people and it's clear far more were causing it. I'll be curious to see why Brown drew this conclusion though. Granted, we have two major universities in the valley (University of Utah and BYU) that pull in people from all over so I'm sure that's some of it. But what was weird is that when I went downtown this morning to my office, the hotels were packed. Salt Lake really isn't a primo tourist destination during the summer, typically people just fly in, grab a rental car, and go the one of the National Parks down south. If they do stay around SLC, they're typically Mormons that are there to spend time at Temple Square.

If those inciting the riots were from out of town and came here with the sole purpose of causing mayhem, it makes me wonder who's behind it. I know some will jump and say ANTIFA, but without evidence, it literally could be anyone.
Seems to be a consistent basis. Dallas' police chief said out of 90 arrests made Saturday night, the majority were not from Dallas. She insinuated that police presence would be heavy tonight to combat looters. Should work out fairly well; last I heard, the protesters moved out of the curfew zone to another part of town to get away from it.

Let’s see how much of this you excuse.

I can honestly keep going if you like, it’s really not difficult with a far right mouthpiece as obvious as he is.

His track record of using edited videos is so extreme that anything he posts is automatically suspect, and should you continue to give him a free pass, you will in my view be no different.

Dear Mr. President, Get the 🤬 outta here with that bull:censored:. Our country is literally tearing itself apart, our fellow Americans our hurting and stealing from one another, and the African-American population feels the need to, once again, scream their bloody heads off to remind our officials "Hey, we're citizens of this nation too, and all we want is to regularly be treated with a little bit of decency." And what does our president, our "leader," do? Idly sit on Twitter and make school-boy jabs at the previous administration, further dividing our nation. Hell, I'm not even a major fan of Obama, but he's done more to peacefully lead and unite the people through one God-damn Twitter post than Trump has this whole week.

@Chrunch Houston , real talk, why do you defend this man? Why do you defend a man who shows a clear disdain for freedom of speech? Why do you defend a man who throws a temper tantrum when someone fact-checks what he says, and then attempts to use his executive power to silence those who dare speak against him, under the crap-tastic, thinly-veiled, and hypocritical excuse of "censorship?" Why do you defend a man who threatens to federalize the National Guard and use them to murder your fellow Americans? Why do you defend a man who uses phrases used by police and racist public officials during Segregationist America, and then claims ignorance to their origin? And if that story is indeed true, why do you defend a man who is ignorant of one of the darkest times in our countries history (even though he lived through it), where American citizens had their lives ruined, or even ended, in the pursuit of equal rights?

Yes, I scrutinize the president quite a bit. It's because he's my president, my representative on the world stage, and the person who's supposed to unite our country in its darkest hour. Oh, and his actions can have a lasting effect on my day-to-day life until the day I die. It's impossible not to scrutinize him.

In my opinion, the continued and accelerating hollowing out of the middle class is going to cause increased polarization to the extremes of politics and behavior.

This is due firstly to economic decline and inequality, then by pandemic/lockdown, and finally by social unrest, curfew, arson, armed riot and business/property destruction.

They just need to send out the National Guard and keep them in place of the police for the next few months.

Why the US hasn’t done what other countries done and put officers through stringent military training with proper ROE and de-escalation tactics is strange.

France’s Gendarmerie, Germany’s Polizei, Italy’s Carabinieri, and many other countries are miles better than US police forces when it comes to their policing and crisis response.

Problem with US police is that they have “military” hardware, but they lack the discipline and training to use it.

Someone I know was talking about how easy police academy was for him, and it really cemented my idea that most local police forces are ran by a bunch of yokels that got hired by a buddy they know.

I honestly don't see how rioting solves anything. "something unjust has happened, let's trash our town". It's just a bit moronic. Peacful protests, fine, but rioting is not going to help anything, it's just opportist anarchy.

I do feel for Floyds family, it does seem very unfair and unjust what happened, and as someone who lost lost someone close to unesseccary violence I really do get it. But that cop has been arrested and charged with murder. That's the right thing to do.

The more this goes on, the harder it's going to be to find an unbiased jury when the trial finally begins. The protests and riots are potentially far more damanging to the case then helpful.

There's been protests and fighting over here in London too, it just baffles me.

It's like some people want to widen the divide and cause as much friction between people of different classes/races/political alignments as they can.

Violent protests are being organized by extremists from right and left in order in order to accelerate large scale social and economic change. This is logical. In order for a new paradigm to exist, the old paradigm must be actively destroyed. It takes too long for it to die of old age.

Not sure if this had already been posted. But this is probably the best thing to come out of Flint in a long time.

That is Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson de-escalating a protest that would likely have turned into a violent riot. This country needs more cops (and people in general) like him.

It's super weird to see Flint and "something good" in the same thought, but I'll be damned, it happened. Good on Sheriff Swanson for doing that and good on him for making some positive Flint news for a change.

I would've hated to have seen what would've happened if a riot did break out in Flint too. Their police force is pretty sparse and the city is just ripe with abandoned buildings to torch. It would've turned really ugly, really quick.

He put words in my mouth.

Oh come on. Saying "FTFY" and editing a comment isn't exactly a new thing. I'm pretty sure everyone knew that was actually me making a comment, and did not interpret it as having come from your mouth.

Scaff provided a lot good stuff, but I'll just add (anecdotally) that every time Ngo posts a video on Twitter that purports to show Antifa instigating violence, it's almost immediately followed by videos from other sources showing that it only looks like Antifa instigated it if you edit the video and leave out what happened before. He's done it several times, trying to manufacture a narrative rather than simply documenting events. It's why, even if what you posted "looked factual," you can't be sure with that guy. He's far from an impartial observer or reporter.

Some random livestreamer tried to get a group of peaceful protesters to engage in property destruction, backfires spectacularly:

Not to continually shill Vaush, but he nails the subject of agent provocateurs:
