I used the LMS for fun on it as well, after beating it with the R18... :P but the LMS is a bit tail happy at times.

Basically buy a low rpm turbo. Limit power to 97.2% (this is without any oil changes) add 135kg of ballast to the front for 50/50 weight dist.

Racing brakes lower them to 4/4 cause as with all MR cars braking hard makes you die. I set torque to 7, and acceleration to 18, I didn't fiddle much with suspension but pretty much changed the way I drove. I got 2.14.6 after missing the last two corkscrew apexes so you will be fine.

I can offer some tips on the track though. If you are using the gear indicator, when it tells you to change down say to 2nd gear when you are in 5th, brake and change to 3rd while staying in the mid rpm range just enough to coast and hit the apex of the corner, when you hit the apex and see the exit, just accelerate like mad from there. High powered cars in the first few gears break rear traction extremely easy, shifting early and staying in a late gear helps with maintaining traction. Also try coasting, letting off the throttle instead of braking and changing down, especially on elevated sections, this cut off some hundredths of a second that added up in the end. Also, the corkscrew, you can cut the entirety of the green pads of the corners! ;)

Good luck, you will get it.

I only have precision and velocity packs and thus no R18.

Got 2.17.5 with the Audi R8 LMS and not sure if it's possible to shave another 2.5 seconds..

Anyone tried ? Any tuning advice would be appreciated. :)

People doing it in 2 min with the R18. I only have the choice of Huarya and could get about 2:11 myself. If the R8 is underpowered can you modify the PP? Do you know you can watch peoples replays? Maybe someone on here could watch yours or you could find another R8 driver?

I've got the precision & torque packs. I had a look through the top 1500 times just before posting and 98% were all R18s, 1% using the HSV while the remainders were using the Viper, GT40, and the X-Bow.

I have the Viper & GT40 in my packs and have managed 2.18.xx with both, with plenty of room for improvement.
I tried the R8 LMS, GT-R & Huayra, but my opinion would be to use the Viper or GT40 if you can.

If anyone has a good capable tune for any car OTHER than the R18 please post it here as I'm sure a lot of people would be very grateful.

I can't understand why PD doing this crap. With the above Settings from the 2nd Post I get only a 2:16:484 and in my opinion it isn't possible to reach Gold without R18 or the HSV-010.

This is stupid

Just clocked a 2:14.435 in the Huayra after much trial & error fiddling and tweaking. May have been barking up the wrong tree all along but I got there even with losing maybe about 2 secs over the lap so it's definitely possible.

Edit:

The tune I ended up with was:

Racing Suspension: Hard
Brakes 6:4
Max Speed 217mph
Standard Diff
Triple Plate Clutch Kit
Stage 2 Engine Tuning
Catalytic Converter: Sports
Stage 3 Weight Reduction
Window Weight Reduction

Then power limited to 94.6% and 156kg ballast at -50 (right at the front), giving a 51:49 distribution.

It is really easy with the Viper GTS. Buy all available tuning parts, set the tranni to 340 km/h and reduce the power a bit to met the pp requirements. It took me 3 laps for a 2:13:4xx and I was far away from a perfect lap.

Hope I could help all non r18 owner.

Just got 2:14.960 with the R8 LMS Ultra after a lot of swearing (only used abs 1).
A tuned up GT-R GT3 might be easier to handle, not sure about its power or pp though.

EDIT: with some more fine tuning I was able to give the R8 LMS Ultra a slightly wider range of neutral handling and managed to lower my time down to 2:14.181 (abs 1 only). I imagine turning SRF on would lower that time by another second or more so it's a viable option.

i had this same problem with the apricot hill time trial, ended up something like 4000th, the other finished GT6 time trials in GT6 i've been top 300, so glad *if* this is the last one for the anniversary cars

when i pre-ordered the pack will all the 15th anniversary cars was another £25 and that seemed a bit steep to me, especially when im sure one of the new stories on here, said that all of them would be available in the game anyway

From the precision or torque packs, for the Apricot Hill one, the GT40 was pretty rapid, but the Megane was another second or so faster, sounds like the Huayra might be good here as well, will be interesting to see who posts the fastest time without using the R18, HSV, or Quattro etc

After posting I went to beat the thing and after a lot of cursing and amateur attempts at "setting" the car I managed to get gold by few 100s of a second

Gear ratio to 300, acceleration diff to 25, a bit stiffer suspension front and rear, 50kg of ballast in front. Brakes F 7-5 R.

Max downforce front/rear. Not saying this make any sense but that what I had when I did the 2.14.7 :P

Thanks I will try your setup!

Honestly not even tried using Huayra as I thought it doesn't have enough downforce for this track - will give it a go to see how it compares.

Did it quite easily in the viper:cheers:

Same as the OP I don't have the 15th Anniversary pack just the other two. For some reason. it wouldn't let me select the Pagani - maybe I had it too juiced up, though I doubt it as I generally don't overpower my cars.

I'll give some of the others a go though, such as the Megane. Thanks for the tips...

Yup the viper is awesome, easy 2.13.2 after 2 laps. Thanks for the heads up 👍

Are you people doing this with the skid recovery force assist enabled?
The fact that it is required to be competitive in these seasonal events makes me want to throw my PS3 on the floor.

I get gold with tuned Viper Anniversary. About 0,5 sec. Fully tuned and power decreased. With Dualshock 3 and automatic transmission...

Thanks for this, got Gold but had to lower my power a little more due to me already changing oil :P

It's taken me an hour to squeeze out a silver with a Viper. I can't do MR at speed, not touching this for now.

this is a difficult one, but i managed it
2:14.0 with the viper (lightened, just under 1000bhp!)
2:14.7 with the pagani huayra (few extra bhp)

the braking distances required in the viper were very long, i think potentially i could go a bit faster with less bhp and more handling, the pagani was much more fun to drive so glad to see from a post here that its possible to get a respectable time from that car

turn SRF on and Huayra does it gold. not easy by slightest nor fun, loads and loads of understeer but as soon as you touch the curve sudden snap of oversteer.

it might be the greatest supercar ever made but i personally want to rip those 4 wings off and install a standard fixed wings.

How about some tunes for the viper. handles like a squirilly boat.

Just got gold after tuning over and over again, improving my times drastically. I'm not the ideal tuner but this worked for me. Use and abuse to suit your style of driving.

Viper GTS 15th AE

1- Equip ALL tuning mods, (except nitrous)
2- Suspension
RH 92 - 98
SR 13.80 - 13.30
Comp 6 - 6
Ext 7 - 6
ARB 4 - 3
Cam 2.2 - 1.0
Toe -0.42 - +0.14
3- Brakes 6 - 3
4- Trans
Set Max Speed to 211mph
Final Gear 3.507
1st - 3.009
2nd - 2.188
3rd - 1.596
4th - 1.252
5th - 1.011
6th - 0.828
5- LSD
5
30 - This may seem high, but it gave that extra kick out of the bends. Improved my time by over 0.5secs
5
6- Power Limiter
Reduce limit to reach 631PP. Varies depending on oil change and mileage.
7- Aids
Manual Transmission
Active steering - Mild/Strong (recommended)
TC - 1
ASM - on
ABS - 1
SRF - on
Sensitivity - 1 (optional)
Normally I only use ABS set to 1 and occasionally TC at 1. Never normally use any other aids, but with this I had to bite my tongue and use them, they definitely helped.

Also, use a manual box if you can. It lets you drop gears quicker than an auto, this makes braking distances shorter if done correctly.

Finally...
I was using DS3 controller, and my final time was 2:14.612 with room for improvement.
