Ann. Cars Round 3 on Spa - gold without r18 ?

Just got gold after tuning over and over again, improving my times drastically. I'm not the ideal tuner but this worked for me. Use and abuse to suit your style of driving................Normally I only use ABS set to 1 and occasionally TC at 1. Never normally use any other aids, but with this I had to bite my tongue and use them, they definitely helped.

Thanks for this tune, your right, it was not fun, the car handled poorly, but your tune made it doable, I also ran SRF reluctantly to get the job done at 2:14.4xx.

Thanks again!

I can't understand why PD doing this crap. With the above Settings from the 2nd Post I get only a 2:16:484 and in my opinion it isn't possible to reach Gold without R18 or the HSV-010.

This is stupid
Pagani Huayra will do gold time but not as easy as R18. Haven't tried the HSV (dont have it) but it seems the Pagani car is the car to use if you don't have the Pack with R18.
If you have the R18 and can't reach gold..don't blame it on PD!

Also, use a manual box if you can. It lets you drop gears quicker than an auto, this makes braking distances shorter if done correctly.

Finally...
I was using DS3 controller, and my final time was 2:14.612 with room for improvement.

Thanks for the settings.

With the brake settings of 6-3, my car was still hating to brake. I put the setting on 7-7, which surely was an improvement in the braking process.

Did You add any ballast & if yes, then which position?

No ballast used. Standard weight with all mods is 1250kg and 50:50 distribution seemed to work well.

Anyone done it with the SLS AMG GT3? I can manage a silver at best with it and am wondering whether I should purchase one of the other packs.

Finally golded this one with the Viper. The tunes posted here were still a little too tight for me, went with a much looser suspension setup (a little more than half suggested on the postd tunes) and felt much better. Still gotta tune that Viper to handle a little better, not quite satisfied with it yet, still feels like a boat =P

This setup is such a crap.

Tried it out just for fun and was about 3 seconds slower than with my own one, which is quite similar to the standard "racing hard" setup.

I never play with sfr and golded it with 2:13. I really like the viper.

Anyone done it with the SLS AMG GT3? I can manage a silver at best with it and am wondering whether I should purchase one of the other packs.

I couldn't manage gold with the sls either. With the viper it's much easier.

yes add weight to the front since the engine is in the rear try adding 15 to 20 in the front and go from there i think mine is set at -23. Lower your breaking sensativity to 8 and that should help alot.disreguard this post thought you were using the hyuara.

Could You be so kind enough to share the settings for the Viper?

This car can be modded for a good amount of HP but this car doesn't like to brake, even though the Racing hards are being used.

The LMS car is more stable but lacks power when compared to the Viper.

No offense but this setup is worse than default. Impossible to drive. And the brakes...
Still can't do this. Impossible with viper, don't want to even try worth another cars.
PD are total idiots. It's pay to win game now.

It was very, very difficult for me, but finaly made it (gold) with the Viper; after 3 nights and a lot of hours i only made 2:14:633.

I thank Jay for the gearbox settings; the other settings were my own after a lot of other testing.
I use a old and basic 200 degrees wheel (DFEX) and "had" to use SRF on, traction control=1, abs=1 - all other disabled.

Remember the infamous Tsukuba with the Elise in GT5? This was tougher

No offence taken, though I did state "Use and abuse to suit your style of driving." This implies that it's not the perfect setup for everybody, because everybody races/drives to suit their own comforts and controllers.
This tune or parts of it have already helped several people to get gold when they were previously unable to. So it is drive-able and possible to get gold.
Don't just try something for one or two laps, do many more. Learn the characteristics of ANY tune you use, and adapt and ADJUST to suit your style of driving.

It's nice that you post the setup here, it's a good work :) But the braking for me was awful. I tried some other setup for a few laps and gave up. If i can't choose the car which i want i'm not going to bother with this and not going to pay real money for R18. This was the last GT i pre-ordered.

I managed a 2.14.823 with this setup with a lot of room for improvement. The car is still a little twitchy and I'm not quite satisfied with it yet, braking is still rough, but if you can harness the backend slide when braking, it helps get around those corners after a long straight. Otherwise, feels a lot better to me than the other tunes posted. Although I know it won't be for everyone, it more closely fits my driving style =P

Enjoy, and any constructive feedback is welcome, i definitely want to improve this tune.

Thanx a ton Discoroo. I respect any setup posted because I'm no good at it. So it's Your efforts that may help me achieve Gold & great prize money.

Thanks Elwood for the Setup. Appreciate Your setup as much as Discoroo's. Will try both to see with which I can achieve Gold.

Since I'm not good in tuning cars myself enough to provide others for assistance, Your setup as well as Discoroo's is like a life saver because the Viper I've been driving has default settings, so tweaking the car would surely help me to achieve a better time.

With the default settings, I've only managed a time of 2:18:xxx inspite of the car touching 1000Hp approximately. The gearing changes & the suspension changes make the biggest difference.

Thanking both of You Guys would never be enough.

Actually this applies to all those in general who are kind & considerable enough to share their settings.

Will post my times & let you guys know as to whose settings suited my driving style better.

You're welcome.
But my settings are nothing special. Nevertheless I hope they work well for you.

The best tuning in general for me was setting the controller sensitivity to "2".

I used the Pagani Huayra, I can't remember my time but the first one completed was good enough for Gold with a margin. Problem was getting it back round to the finish line without spinning or running wide... Curse words used for sure!

Yesterday I tried your settings but unfortunately I wasn't able to put a faster lap than my previous fastest lap of 1:17:xxx. I could only manage a lap in 1:18:xxxs.

My car was not stable at all under braking or while turning, especially when braking for the Bus Stop.

I realised in the end that I had set the brake settings the other way around i.e. 6 for Front & 8 for behind. maybe that made the difference.

Anyway thanks again for sharing the settings. Even though they were not much beneficial to me, it doesn't mean that Your settings are wrong. maybe they didn't suit my driving style.

Time: 2:13,926 and maybe a second left to improve for me.

After not being able to improve with Discoroo's setup, I tried your setup.

I was able to improve about 2 seconds but still couldn't achieve Gold as I set a time of 1:15:4xx. So CLOSE.:banghead: Apart from the Eau Rouge, the turn leading to Bus Stop is very tricky & needs perfection. I've managed to touch 327Km/h on the straight after Eau Rouge but what's the point. Braking at the end of the straight makes the Viper crazy.

Will try again today.

When compared to Discoroo's setup, Your setup made my car more stable during the turns. I was able to be more aggressive with the turns. Discoroo's setup didn't suit my driving but am sure it must've suited others as he has achieved a Gold with that setup.

The only common issue I faced with both setups was the Viper's inability to be stable at the rear end when braking. Hate the car for this.

Even though my car after modding was 1031Hp at 627pp, the car's instability is hurting me to get the Gold.

Today I'll try adding a good amount of Ballast. That should help. I kept the SRF on as this car is very unstable. Using a DS3 so I'd find it very hard to get a clean lap with the Viper.

=P sorry it wasn't much help Uday, main thing definitely is that it slides when breaking. I was just able to harness the slide and whip around most corners. Still took a good hour of trying tho. Good luck in golding this, was definitely rough without the R18.

I used the quattro S1 rally car for this event, attached a turbo for good measure and easily beat the gold by around 3 seconds. Handles quite well.

Lucky You as You must be having a collection of the 15th Anniversary cars, which are very capable of securing Golds.

I've just got the LMS, Viper & the Stingray.

Don't know if the Stingray would be a goodshot but the Viper, inspite of having good power, is highly unstable. The LMS car is better but lacks power.
