Mr latte, I can understand your anger but please note that this wheel is clearly not announced to be 100% compatible with the console. It is a PC wheel! If you like full compatibility please go for the Turbo S.

I also do not understand what the problem is to include the silver paddles additionally and free of charge. Some customers will prefer it and you get some choice.

The plug was killed in a last minute decision as it did not stand the power we need for the wheel. At that time we did not want to change the manuals again and delay the shipment. We did not expect that people actually think that the button is defective because the wheel should work fine. Of course we will now change the instructions.

We decided to make a video manual for the CSP as it is much easier to explain than making a paper manual and it will not take you that much time to read it. Of course we still need to get our support site fixed.

1. Im not expecting the wheel to work on all PS3 games. You have posted on these forums for a long time and i think its peoples belief here that GT5P was expected to work. Why hasnt it been confirmed before hand, your website doesnt even list a single game that has been tested on PS3 but just it works on some games.
2.The paddles, clearly i was told innacurate information which i relayed here, all you had to do was state both black and silver are in the box. Very easy to recitfy that on here as the discussion was happening. Im not annoyed about receiving the silver, im annoyed that yet again the community or customers just cant be given the facts, simple...
3.YOUR TELLING ME LAST MINUTE THE PLUG IS CANCELLED, sorry but that sucks, and why wasnt this explained to those that pre-ordered a product expecting to be able to use the G25 and X360 pedals on their GT3RS wheel as advertised!
This was still stated as shipped with adapter cable upto this week on your website (note ive said earlier the site has now been changed)
4.Please explain the ERRORS then in the "Quick Guide" for NO.2 and NO.4 You guys cant even get the instructions right even with a several month delay. Very unprofessional and its a joke, really is bad on your part that you take peoples money on pre order and although the products performance id agree is to a high standard the service and management is in complete tatters which is quite evident here.

Sorry but ive a right to be annoyed, i dont have what i was advertised as i cant use G25 pedals or X360 pedals and like several others my product is faulty anyways.

Please, if you think i was angry before im 2x that now by finding out youve mislead me and the community on this product to now spring it on us that those pedals cant now be used... What the heck is the community website for that it couldnt of been announced their, yet you have to announce to the world here on a public forum and as im the only one to bring this up thus far. Also the community website is weak, it goes weeks without people enquiries being answered, so please enlighten me when your going to get your act together as a quality manufacturer with a quality service.

As for GT5P or GT5 working on PS3 with this wheel you can inform people about that, surely Fanatec tested this or could have a guide, err no that be too sensible. You could at least try to help those here...

There goes my dream of owning a GT3RS wheel with clubsport pedals and a sequential shifter. I don't use a pc anymore for gaming only a console.

Oh well, there is always Logitech.

The only problem with the power plug is that the quick guide is wrong. There is no power button! It is just a dummy.

The wheel will start working as soon as you connect the USB cord to PC or console.

You must set back the system date to make it work on PS3.

But I have to admit that we indeed forgot to ship the pedal adapter cables. We will bring them in by airshipment and supply to you asap. Please send an email to our e-support to make a claim for the cable. Thanks.

So just to make it CRYSTAL CLEAR! to the people as the above contradicts the later post....

1. You forgot to add these into the boxes and are coming later
OR
2. Cancelled last minute and now no longer for happening so no G25 or X360 pedal support possible.

GT5P
As reported my wheel needs the power pulled in and out at least once it doesnt auto start. Seems others have a similar problem?
GT5P on my wheel keeps cutting out, so others can confirm if on a fully working wheel if they have any problems.

Good thing the power button was clarified but it should have been brought up earlier than having all of us caught by surprise. And one more thing there's a number of us who chose the package be delivered on their place of work and a quick check would really make us anxious why some items that was explained on the quick guide doesn't conform on what we actually have.

On a different note, here's my short review about the long awaited GT3 RS wheel.

Background:
I used to join RWYB circuit races. And fond of the GT franchise. My only point of comparison with the GT3 RS is my old logitech DFP which is below its league.

Out of the box:
I'll start with those things I hate.

a. A SCRATCH!!!! On the front edge of the orange panel. I'm a bit meticulous on my toys and really hate cosmetic defects especially those from the factory.

b. Unstable shifting while mounted on the 2 parallel bars. Best remedy is to find a way to mount in a fix platform. But that equates to additional expense since the wire came with it is a tad short.

c. Since I was testing my GT3 RS while my wife is fast asleep. I haven't tested the 6 speed shifter thoroughly. Though my recollections earlier from the office would say that it does shift precisely. The actual game test with Race would tell otherwise. But as I mentioned earlier I was not able to test it with the game thoroughly since it's too noisy on continuing with the manual shifting.

d. Inaccurate quick guide! Very misleading especially on where to get the drivers, 'dummy power buttons', missing cables.... Luckily, I'm a lurker of this forum and I frequent Thomas' Blog. It's a pity for those buyers who rarely use the internet. Though there's a catch if you're able to get the GT3 RS, chances are you closely read the online forums... To be updated with the shipping delays and know where your hard earned $$$ really went.

e. Table clamp. Is there a technique on how to put back the table clamp? I'm having a hard time of putting it all the way through and I don't want to force it back on the fear of damaging it.

Now with the good stuff:

a. Club sport pedals is the best component of GT3 RS. It's robust in construction, able to hold itself down due to it weight, highly tuneable depending to your preference, very stable... The only thing I hate was re-lubing it. Luckily, I'm into MTB and I always have a stock of ProGold chain lube.

b. Boxes are nice esp it's monicker while opening the steering wheel's box.

c. I love the width and size of the steering wheel esp the alcantara leathers that offers better grip and tactile response.

d. Very SILENT motors. As I mentioned earlier I'm doing the test with my wife sleeping and she never been bothered even I was just 4 feet away playing with the wheel and my laptop.

GAME - Race 07

It seems their catch phrase is true because I was able to do better laps compared to my DFP. I love the force feedback and the wheel seems to 'sing' along with the car's engine hence adding more 'feel' on how to control the car.

Sadly, the very thing why I upgraded my wheel was the clutch and H-gate shifter. I was dreaming on this that an 'affordable' console/PC steering would be available. Unfortunately, I was not able to test it tonight because of the noisy shifter.

Currently, my CSP are not yet 'tuned' and lubed properly. I hope this would be the reason for the highly resistive response of the brake pedals. The gas pedals seems to work precisely out-of-the-box.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Better shifter. Imho the only component where G25 seems better is its shifter. I would also loose those parallel bars and get a clamp and longer wire.

Mr. Thomas,i have adjusted the brake force, the clutch and gas pedal..... Are this faults of the lubricant??? Or do i need new Clubsport pedal???

That is definitely a bummer about the confusion caused by last minute undocumented changes, such as the power button & lack of pedal adapter, but as for the GT3RS and the PS3 in all fairness to Fanatec...

He, she or they never misled anyone about the GT3RS's compatibility with PS3. Every time it came up and he responded, it was to inform people that the GT3RS may work with PS3, but that it was not designed for it, and compatibility wasn't guaranteed.

If PS3 was your focus, or of great importance, then the console wheel is the Turbo S wheel.

For consoles we recommend to get the 911 Turbo S and not the GT3RS as the Turbo has the better compatibility to all platform. The GT3RS was designed for PC gamers and has limited compatibility.
Curently all wheels work with GT5:P. But for playing GT5 and if you want to be 100% sure that all future PS3 games will work go for the new Turbo S. Trust me.
From the respoinse we got from the community we found that there are basically three types of user demands.

1. Hardcore console racer
They like to have
  • Multi platform compatibility to PS3, 360 and PC
  • Wireless connection to play in the living room
  • a full package without the need to buy anything else
  • Shifters for more realism
This is why we made the 911 Turbo S wheel.
To diversify it even more we made 3 editions so we cover a price range from 200 to 500 € depending on what features you like

2. Hardcore PC racer
Although the GT3 RS works fine with the PS3 and GT5 we designed this wheel for PC users in mind.
  • No need for wireless connection
  • good paddle shifters
  • perfect and sturdy pedals
It is a reduction to what it takes to make you go fast

3. The racing fan (not enthusiast) who is just looking for a decent wheel at an attractive price.
the result was the Porsche 911 Carrera wheel.
  • must have clutch and 6+1 speed shifter
  • the big wheel rim, LED display, amount of buttons etc of the high end wheels
  • good quality but no need for ueberfetaures such as the belt drive, leather or wireless
You can also tune this wheel a little bit but you get a good set right out of the box.

Thats it for now. There are no more wheels in the pipeline and I hope we covered any taste and demand out there.

Beside that, if you already have a G25 you can buy the clubsport pedals separatly or you just buy the wheel of 911 Turbo S Pure edition and use your G25 pedals with it.
Anything is possible.

Ive already said part of my problems with GT5P is my wheel is faulty with the testing i have done. As yet please remember no-one here has actually fully reported on GT5P working 100% and yeah thats not guranteed, thats not my gripe though, my gripe is being mislead about the compatibility of other pedals and the shoddy work done regards the quick guide.

I wouldnt have a problem ordering a Turbo S if the GT3RS didnt work properely for this game but then again rumours of a G27 are in the air...

 Fanatec already replied to you that they would ship out the adapters.

That being said though...

Doesn't the GT3RS come with the ClubSport pedals standard? Why would you want to use anything else?

Not to say I don't understand being frustrated and upset. It's not like anyone has had to wait for months for this product or anything. :)

For all that money and all that wait I would no doubt be upset with anything less than perfect also.

Fanatec did reply saying to be shipped later only to say about 2 posts later the feature is dropped.
Like i said and already asked WHICH IS IT?

Depends on their response and ability to replace my GT3RS if i would order a Turbo S, as many things about the product do please me over the G25. Lets see how they handle the situation.

Reading his posts, it seemed to me he was talking about the power button being dropped.

The only mention he ever makes of the pedal adapter is that it was accidentally left out, and that they would be shipping them.

Mr Latte,

From reading what fanatec have said they are referring to the plug that has been dropped :)

I don't understand what they mean by changing the date on the wheel to make it work with GT5P. Guess it must have some sort of digital control panel on it...

They don't mean changing the date on the wheel.

You need to change the date in GT5p. There is some weird bug that causes the game not to work with the wheel when the date hit a certain point around Christmas time last year.

I am very disturbed by this. I was intending to use it for PC sims in the future (when I get a new computer), but my assumption when I ordered the RS wheel, was that it would work with PS3 games, even if all the features were not fully supported.

Please keep us updated on what success you have getting this wheel to work with GT5P, F1CE & FC... :nervous:

Ah OK that's what they mean 👍

Thanks M8.

Theirs too much confusion, and ive asked already for clarification on the "G25/X360" pedal support. Apologies if indeed that is still continuing and cable are to be sent out. I ask though if the adapter cable allows a G25 wheel to be used on GT3RS then will it also allow the Clubsorts to be used with G25 on PS3? This has been a very grey area regards the product...

I couldnt care much about the power/switch being on the unit or not which was referred to a plug? But 2 members here have faulty units and couldnt understand the instructions which showed differnetly, thinking they had damaged switches, simple.

Regards the DATE.
Change the Date Setting To 2008 on your PS3, if you dont the wheel wont register in GT5P

Regards PS3
ONLY activate the PS3 mode on the wheel when the game has loaded and turn your wireless controller to Channel 2 or other, keep the wheel as Channel 1.

Hope that helps, but lets hear from someone please about GT5P and the wheel if they also got it working.

I can´t comment on the wheel since I haven´t got it yet. But I beg Fanatec to no longer use UPS. They have bad reputation and I do understand why. Mine is stuck in an airport in southern Sweden and have been so for the last three days???. Two more days and they will probably send it back to Germany like they did with another Swede. He got the wheel but the pedals actually arrived in his city but drove around and then was sent back to Germany!

I have got parcels from EMS express, USPS, Fedex, DHL never ever any problems. This was my first shipment with UPS and what happens. I have no idea when I will actually get it.

Doesn't the GT3RS come with the ClubSport pedals standard? Why would you want to use anything else?

The ClubSport pedals are on discount when you buy RS and CS pedals together,
The Wheel alone is about $170 USD (169.95 to be percise)
The Clubsport alone is about $200 USD (199.55)
So together it would be around $370

IF you buy them together as bundle its about &299

So you have money left over for SHIFTERS and still save $20
Good deal IMO.

Ummmm.... You do know they make a wheel that supports all systems? I'm really having a hard time understanding why you would give up on a product, just because you wanted the orange one.

I ordered the Turbo S, because I play on the PS3/PC/Xbox 360. If you only play on consoles, why wouldn't you just go for the wheel that supports the system you use?

EDIT: NoxNoctis Umbra, I fixed your math error.

I am not complain, I do not have the RS yet, but I wanna play GT5P and GT5 full game, If they wont work, I still will have 2 shifters and awesome ClubSport pedals. So in the Future all I will have to buy is just the wheel alone without anything else so that now I will be able to play PS3 and Xbox games.

So for now I will be happy with PC sim Racing, and chaning dates on my PS3 to play Prologue for a bit.

But hey Fanatec. Some questions, Please read this.

Why not create some kind of USB PORT for the PS3 and RS wheel?
Would it be possible?
It will be some kind of adapter/USB drive with USB IN/OUT port.
Plug it in to your PC and download Drivers for PS3, then just take the USB adapter, plug it in PS3, then plug the RS wheel to the adapter itself to play and enjoy PS3 game. Heck I would pay for something like this!

Why not making it happen? That way maybe all wheels could work with all consoles?

What are you whining about? You recently got one of the best fabric-made wheels on the planet and are whining like spoiled brats. Give us a brake. If you dont like the wheel send it back and demand your money back. But please don't spam this site with all your whining, its so tiring.

@Qvist. Fick min ratt i veckan via Ups. Inga problem, de levererade t.o.m. till mitt jobb trots att det hemadressen som angetts i deras system. Hoppas din ratt hamnar dit den ska. Den är en underbar upplevelse. Åtminstone om du är simracer.

That comes out a bit harsh I think. Sure not all complaints are that valid but well with the new toy syndrome working in full effect it can cause side effects when you don´t get it working 100 % instantly

GT 5 support has NEVER been promised but I think many just wished for it so much it somehow became the truth? Since the old 911 turbo is marketed for PS 3 as well many thought the RS would work the same GT5P does work as advertized from what I hear so well that is the only half promise I have heard somewhere about PS 3 support...

As for UPS the successful delivery rate is nowhere near the 99 % you should be able to expect. If there was one package but it´s two only in Sweden already way to much. Would be interesting if there is more having problems? Over at other places like head-fi UPS is not highly regarded... It´s so unusual I thought Fanatec forgot to ship it at first. I regularly get shipments from US, Asia just about everywhere except for Antarctica and Africa. Don´t know how many parcels I received must be more then just bad luck that there is a 100 % UPS failure rate

I do know it´s a great wheel I am one of the real nut cases that changed the 911 turbo for this one ;)

This is an English language board. Please use English for all your posts here. Thanks.

Well, in the diagram clearly says which wheels support which systems... I don't know how that was missed by some people. If things are broken, why shouldn't people have a right to complain?

I just got my wheel up and running a few minutes ago :) In order to get the thing to work with GT5P I had to reset the PS3 system date to 2008, as others have mentioned. I'll take some pictures and do a review when I get back to my house in just a few 👍 So far the wheel feels solid, although I think I need to do some adjusting to the brake on the CS pedals.

This is my first wheel so I don't have have much to compare it to unfortunately. I will so that I'm off to a pretty slow start with the wheel though. Hopefully I can improve dramatically in the next few days though.

Great man. I am still waiting for my!!! And seems you live in California too.. Don't tell me ONE more week of wait for me too :(

By the way. I downloaded the Drilling Template, will it be good for RS wheel as well? I wanna drill some holes now on my PlaySeats EVO cockit, as well I need to get some kind of plate for Pedal support.
The RS has some screwable mounting holes right? Someone please take pic of bottom of the RS and confirm it to me thanks.

Also any Bicycle chain oil will do? Or something specific?

Nox: The downloadable template works perfect for mounting the RS wheel 👍 Just make sure that the template isn't scaled down when printing.
