Another Mass Shooting...

This makes me just.. I can't really explain. After seeing a shootout unfold on my street which led to a person dying and S.W.A.T arriving... it just severely altered my feelings to these things. Why is there so much gun related violence here? It's just crazy.

I've been to that mall before... This is just ridiculous. All these shootings just make me upset.

We had a mall shooter here(Portland, Oregon. Just drove by it yesterday), which also ended up with three dead(including the shooter). Shooter ended up being some idiot kid, and it was apparently some senseless killing. It seemed that he planned to kill himself, but couldn't do it alone. :rolleyes:

I think it was just days before Sandy Hook.

I think that's perfectly natural. If society didn't need guns, that would be fantastic, but unfortunately, every town have guns protecting the peace.

I love the title of this thread. I also love the emotional reactions. Very contradictory. Very amusing.

There's nothing contradictory about the thread title, it is another mass shooting in pure arithmetic terms. They occur. Whether this is used for tugging at heartstrings, selling newspapers or promoting a certain agenda is another matter entirely to the veracity of the thread title. Except perhaps the tapering full stops, which does seem dramatic or emotionally rhetorical...

Emotional reactions are also the norm for this sort of story. As of yet, I haven't seen a definitive "omg gunz r bad" reply yet.

Being in favour of guns and gun usage doesn't mean you should scoff or try to be blase when an incident such as this takes place. It comes across as unsympathetic or even cruel. I'm pretty sure nobody likes these stories and nobody wants them to occur more often.

As to the incoming "But liberty and if someone had a gun they'd have stopped it sooner" response, yes that's absolutely correct and I agree with that entirely. But it doesn't detract from the original incident in question. Or, it shouldn't, in my opinion.

And in all genuine seriousness, this has sparked something I've been meaning to ask on gun issues so I'll redirect myself to the correct thread.

* It probably all started with the Wild West and everything went downwards from that moment on.

* Too easy to get your hands on guns.

* Part of the American culture (guns)

* This

* ....

* ....

* etc.... .

But even if it were a mass shooting, it's another mass shooting. Sorta devalues the whole thing, don't ya think? Like another old lady riding the fast lane, oh jeez I'll just go around her this time, screw it.

So guys, when's the next game? I've never actually been to one, I've only seen them on TV. Hopefully Nugent doesn't miss another field goal.

It's really sad how some people have no soul towards others and just shoot up places:guilty:. My thoughts are with the victims.

According to the article, ex-boyfriend shot & killed the girl & her fiance, then himself? :confused:

Edit: Very thorough coverage here: dailymail.co.uk

Looks like the girl had a two year old son. Unbelievable. (My)linked article seem to suggest at the shooter lying about being a college student? It's bit vague, so not completely sure.
