Anyone miss old Rome Circuit?

No, it was not that long. But as I said, PD must have only used those streets as a loose basis. I do really think they used them as there are too many coincidences piling up. Try finding other ones that coincidentally:

- Are located near the other Rome tracks used in GT2 or GT5
- Have more or less the same looking layout
- Have the same orientation of the GT2 Rome track (Yellow path above)
- Have a really long straight, a hairpin and go near the Tiber river as prominent features.

Shirakawa, I just love the effort you put into these things.

me too, I used google street view to "walk" the real GT5 Rome circuit and was utterly impressed with the detail PD put into the track. When PD are good they are DAMN good.

My main gripe with the new one is those heavily banked turns in the first sector.
There just shouldn't be any banked turns on a street circuit since it's based, well, on actual streets which don't ever have any banking...

Actually, the roads really are banked there. I do remember that from being there. You can see a hint of it on Google Street View as well.

If it's accurate, I can't honestly say.

I was there about 4 years ago, the road around the Colosseo is not nearly as banked as it seems to be in GT5. At least from memory.

Can anyone please post a video of Rome/Rome Night in GT2?
I played GT2 but the disc died 5 years ago, so I forgot (almost) everything. :(

What gets me about the new Rome track is simply how much of it is shared with the old track, and yet PD never bothered to actually replicate the old track in GT5. They could have had 4 or 5 more possible layouts had they done so, and they still didn't. It almost seems like trolling to me.
