someone in Kei's stream started on Pole with Medium tires(forgot to change) lost 5 places and about 20 seconds by changing tires.
Basically you would need to be 2 seconds faster per lap on the Medium tires for it to be a valid Strat.

Started 7th. Went down to 8th in the opening laps but 2nd-7th were basically in a line for a few laps and I picked up some scraps. An Aston pitted from 3rd on lap 9 so I got a free podium. I did alright considering I did no race practice and a lack of brake balance adjustment means the car just doesn't turn in the left hander going into the tunnel. I... I can't find where to check my point but I got 120-something I think.

Another sucky race.

Hit a guy in the out lap in qualifying - not sure how, but it was in the nasty right just in the final sector. Got three seconds for that.

Then in the opening two laps of the race another guy who'd also had a crap qualifying turned into me three times while alongside him, and brake-checked at the final chicane on both the first two laps. Second time I couldn't avoid him and got 4s penalty for it

Managed to recover to a reasonable position before a penalty-serving Ferrari decided two-abreast into the first turn was a good idea and then had two more attempts at smashing my rear bumper off before he was accidentally walled.

Had a perfectly fine few laps scrapping with a BMW and a Subaru, no issues at all. Binned it at the first turn on the last lap all by myself, oddly.

It's not a bad race, but they just need to turn GT Sport day one penalties back on. Unless you hit someone who noses right into the wall or goes off-track, there's no penalty at all.

Also, is it just me, or is the Manufacturer Series set up really weirdly? You enter a race and there's maybe six or seven unique cars and everything else is in threes and fours (or tens).

If it's a competition by manufacturer, surely it should be one entry per marque per race where possible and only filling out lower lobbies with multiples? It should be this:

[Sort by: SR]
[Sort by: DR]
[Select by: Manufacturer]

There's 30 brands. It shouldn't be hard, and it shouldn't be "oh, can I pick up a 7th behind the six Subarus?".

The Genesis X can't keep up with a Supra even when you're tucked into its slipstream.

I can't entirely blame the BoP for my terrible performance (a four car pinball into the chicane that I was at the front of was also an issue), but it really doesn't help when you're constantly losing ground along the straights.

Not my best track time wise, I enjoy the drive and of course the view, but racing always feels a little risky given you're either off balance or open to a wild dive throughout the lap, there's not much room for battling.

If I'd have managed to hit my practice time in Qualy I'd have started 2nd but as it was I couldn't get near it and would start 12th.

I do wish I'd run a couple of laps of practice on hards as I was all over the place at the start, but thankfully I wasn't alone as those in front and behind both went well wide at the opening esses and we all needed a moment to get a handle on the car going into the tunnel. I can be very consistent here and that was the plan from there, hit my marks, don't take any risks and count the cars who have pushed too hard as I go past.

The racing was clean enough, no problems at all minus a russian who had span from the front and wanted to force his way back through quickly, before then spinning on his own again in the exact same spot on the following lap. Couldn't happen to a nicer fellow :gtpflag:

Very pleased with the results here, counting all the casualties I finished 5th place, another top 5 thank you very much and with no one getting a penalty for not using the hards, it was just solid driving and no mistakes after lap 1 that got me there.

That's enough of the day spent inside anyway, my toddler has been begging to have buckets of water dumped over her and who could say no to that. Have a good weekend all

Well, I guessed a 35s pit stop, hence my assertion that you'd have to be 3s+ faster per lap:

I still don't think it'd work mate.

You'd have to be 3+ seconds faster per lap than you would've been on the meds. Not gonna happen.
However, it turns out that even this was a conservative guesstimate. I just watched Chupa accidentally leave his qualifying mediums on and pit at the end of lap 9. Tyre change and no fuel was 40s, so one would have to be around 4.5s faster per lap (40s divided by the 9 laps on meds). As I said earlier, not gonna happen.

EDIT:
I haven't timed the on-track travel from the entrance of pit lane to the exit and forgot to subtract this from the pit time. My bad! I'd guess the hit would therefore be between 20 and 25s, not 40.

Judging from the guy in my race who pitted on lap nine on the mediums, pitlane time loss is 27 seconds.

Although he lost another 27 seconds, and also a minute, because he accidentally strapped on more mediums and pitting on the last lap doesn't count - though he tried.

That was one of three places I gained in the race, with the other two coming courtesy of a guy who disconnected immediately, and the guy who passed me straight up taking out the guy in front of him after a pretty annoying bit of weaving down the back straight; I passed him on the last lap to regain that spot, and finished third.

Seems like qualifying is everything here; I took 1.5s off my qualy lap thanks to a clear run and started sixth.

DBR9 in GT2.

Started 5th with my best lap of the week, finished 4th. The winner was on the M9/H1 strategy, so much faster than everyone else. 2nd through 7th were running pretty close the whole race, all but one on hards.

Not proud of the ending, had a bit of road rage. Passed someone down the back straight on the final lap and then defended through sector 3. They bumped me out of the final corner to get just ahead - came up the inside with no gap and pushed me wide towards the pitwall. I thought it was deliberate so squeezed them into the barriers. Not sure now, didn’t save the full replay. No penalties either way (of course) and a clean race bonus. Not my finest hour.

Don’t know about races in higher splits but mine was a full variety of cars - Subaru, Porsche, Nissan (the Skyline), my Aston, Genesis, VW all mixing it upfront.

Back-to-back podiums after today's race, very happy with the start of this season in both Nations and Manufacturers. :D

My lobby bugged out and got stuck at warm-up for 10 minutes, then someone dropped and the session ending timer finally appeared to get qualifying underway.

After my last run out at Trial Mountain where I started in a horrible position on the square chicane from P12, I was glad to be well down the straight, starting P3 after setting a 1:50.172 in qualifying. I was quite squirrely at the start; the dirty air and change from Mediums to Hards put me off quite badly through sector 1 and the Genesis behind ended up in prime position to steam past on the tunnel straight, dropping me to P4. P5 was about 2 seconds behind however so I tried to calm my nerves and settle in, but that was far easier said than done.

The Chevrolet in P2 started having some trouble over the next couple of laps so me and the Genesis ended up all over each other, with the Subaru in P5 gradually reeling us back in. I briefly managed to get back into P3 in the short tunnel at the start of sector 2 on lap 2, but the Genesis' straight line speed is so much better than the V12 Vantage. It got back alongside me and then the Chevrolet in P2 gave the Genesis a tow down the long straight instead of me, so quickly back down to P4.

The Chevrolet then started pulling away, leaving me chasing down the Genesis for the rest of the race with a Subaru breathing right down my neck. My opportunity to get P3 back came on lap 8 when the Genesis hit the wall in the first tunnel trying to hug the apex and bounced off. With it's line now messed up and pushed wide, I started sneaking up the inside. The Genesis got a couple of wheels onto the grass and I got in front.

P3, 217 points. I'm now awaiting the unspeakable nightmares that round 2 will have in store for me as payback for having such good fortune in both round 1s. :scared::P

Argh! What do I do here then folks.

So the stupid idiot that I am in the 5pm UK race was the first time I could do a race. Qualified P4 and after the quali I go off to get a drink etc… and with 5 seconds left I remember I need hard tyres. Switched to hards but the game didnt register the changes. Anyway start the race on mediums and it was a really enjoyable race. Clean and fair from all drivers in the top 6. Lost a place and down to P5 after I went a little deep into a corner but then managed to race back up to P2. Pitted lap 9 and I exit in P6. So all in all not too bad of a result in then end.

But do I go again? I reckon I could get a better result, but I just know I’ll end up crashing or something next race? 🤔🤔🤔

Unless I get wiped out or it goes really wrong I tend to not taunt the gods of fate and leave it alone but your call mate

I would've gladly participated in that first Nations Cup round at Maggiore, but I wanted to meet with friends instead. So I plan to do as many of the remaining seven rounds as I can. I got to say, the anticipation is really biting at me when it comes to those two rounds that are TBD. No doubt it'll involve new cars and/or a new course coming towards the end of this month.

Nation's Slot 1: Somehow, even with 60k DR and 99 SR, I got placed in a room in which I was the only A+ and everyone else was DR A. Still, I could only manage to start 3rd and finish 5th, which was worth 187 points, and therefore short of my 200 point minimum goal.

Nation's Slot 2: Somehow I went from 3rd or 4th split in the first slot to Top Split this time. I qualified P12 and immediately lost all of those spots by the end of the opening lap to fall back to 15th (last place in this race). I stayed there for the rest of the race until the final lap when 13th messed up the final corner on the penultimate lap, giving him a poor run down the front straight to start the final lap and allowing 14th to pass him before T1. I closed up behind him and made the move into T4, and moved myself up to 14th. Up ahead, 13th ran wide at T5 and allowed me an easy pass to move me into P13. Then, just before the final corner, 8th place had a massive lag spike that dropped him all the way down to last and promoted me back to where I started in P12. It was worth 205 points, and I knew I didn't have the pace this evening to feel confident about doing better, so I left it at that.

Trial Mountain is truly a fantastic circuit. I really really love racing here.

First race was a bit of a shambles
though, I struggled with the Jaguar a lot through the first sector at first, and could tell I was bleeding a lot of time. Qualified a measly 15th, I believe, only ahead of an Alfa Romeo which of course didn't stand a chance, bless them.
Race turned around for me though and after some pretty decent racing, and importantly actually getting used to how the car drives around here, I was lapping close to my quali time (lol, says a lot) and ended up P8! 198 points, though I knew I could do better.

Quali for race 2 was also underwhelming, though the field was extremely tight! About a second from 1st to 15th, and 6 tenths down saw me start 10th. I had a bit of a naughty moment on the first lap down the tunnel straight where I bump drafted someone a bit too close to the braking zone and caught them off guard, making them go wide as they didn't expect the new braking point (I am very sorry, Bob) - but it was a great race aside from that, clawing my way through the field, defending like a lion (like a jaguar?) and dodging incidents to finish a pretty good P4, something I am very happy with in the Jaguar! I didn't see how many points it gave me out of the excitement, but my goal is to be in the top 10 of Jaguar drivers by the end of the season- P4 at this race is a pretty solid result for this car here so that's a good start.

I've not been playing much over the last few months as life has been getting in the way, had some free time this weekend and I lurve this circuit so I decided to partake today. Picked the Vantage as it's a car I drove the wheels off in GTS so I feel i know if really well.

Went in for the 4pm slot and... diconnected.

Went again for 5pm, not the greatest quali put me 13th. second lap shunt put me 15th (Racing incident). I put in some solid laps and was up to 11th, looking at the exhaust pipe of p10 on the last lap when, this happened:

Nothing much has changed I see! I feel his user name needs to change.

Anyway, 3 people didn't get the memo regarding the tyres so I ended up in 10th. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go again as, apart from the above, it was a really fun race!

Yeah I’ve just left it as it is. It was a good clean race and I really enjoyed it. And the way the game has been lately with bad drivers etc… I’d rather leave it on a high.
I ended up only been 18 seconds of first place. If only I didnt have the small error and I could have past one or two car quicker I might have been able to finish P4 at a push.

Full race replay for anyone interested. 🏎🏁

Did save my gameplay. On further viewing I’m still not sure if it was deliberate. I was very slow through that chicane all race so maybe it just caught them off guard. My response was way too aggresive anyway so I think I owe them an apology for that.

Can we see the other cars POV? Doesn't even look like they tried to make the corner tbh, just went to bounce off you.

It looks to me like he's following right on your bumper but you get a very slow exit off the turn and he goes into the back of you. The pull to the right might have been to try and avoid it, or it could have been a silly pass attempt it's hard to judge.

This is why I try not to react in race as you don't know how it went down around you sometimes but he only lost the place, I wouldn't worry about it too much even if they were innocent.

From that view, I think you were both in the wrong. The Genesis was definitely clumsy in that attempt to pass since you were still so close to the apex, but your response was very harsh.
