Are you a fatass?

Why are you fat? Are you not fat? Then why?

Do you blame suburban sprawl? Fast food? Cars? TV and video games?

Or is it because you eat too much?

I keep hearing about how obese Americans are, and I keep hearing people blame everything except the fact that people eat too much, which is another example of the total lack of personal responsibility on America's part.

Not yet. I eat too much but I'm working out daily now so hopefully I won't get fat.... my family has a history of fatness.

------edit-------

5'11" 160 lbs.

I'm not a fatass. I could gain about 10 pounds of muscle and lose about 5 pounds of fat ideally.

If I were a fatass I would know that I didn't exercise enough. And I'd blame it on that, not on McDonald's.

Nada, I'm definately not fat. I skate on a constant basis, workout every other morning, and eating just enough food to get by in a day currently. I think the fact that Americans are so obbsessed with being fat is the fact most of us sit on our arses and don't do much. Ask a typical American what they do at night, a good portion would answer 1 of 2 ways. I either go out drinking a ton of beer (which will defiantely get you fat if you don't work it off) or I sit on my lazy bum watching TV eating popcron.

Personally I think I'm underweight, but my girlfriend says I have "an amazing body".

The majority of Americans are overweight, though. They are lazy slobs, plain and simple.

I'm a fatass. I'm 5'-10" and weigh 250.

I like to eat, I have a desk job, I have two kids who keep me too busy to visit a gym, and I've never been interested in sports as a hobby, ever. I blame those things.

Of course, all those things are decisions I have made in my life.

Don't think so... 178cms and a whopping 70kg... And I don't do ****. I have a deskjob, I smoke too much. I like my beer and my junk food... Go figure.. Have been thinking about taking up swimming again :irked:

Not fat anymore. I am 5'7" and last christmas I weighed 180 pounds, right now I am 140 pounds and still dropping weight to the tune of about 10 pounds a month lately.
Prolly a lot to do with depression, but I am also very active.

I bet if you had food poisoning every 2 months coupled with whatever you're doing right now within a year you could turn sideways and hide.

Cool!

Yes I am, and I blame you and Toto.

im not fat, 150, 5-11, but i think the reason for obisity in america, has to do more with the diet. and daily rutines we perform everyday. especially once we hit that certain age, 30 and after and aging really kicks in, and we tend to do less.

I'm 33, 5'10 and 175 pds, after being just under 210 and unfit 3 1/2 years ago - I run and do weights, and as previously documented did my first marathon a couple of weeks ago - so I guess I'm reasonably fit. I'm carrying bit more fat than I'd like, but after all my work over the last few years I've managed to get rid of my paunch.

Given we have a very similar problem with obesity in Australia, I think diet and activity levels has much to do with it. Basically, we're doing less physically, and consuming more calories.

It's all very well pointing at fat people and say they should eat less, but food manufacturers lacing food with sugar means even basic processed foods like yoghurt are often carrying up to and over 16% of their content as sugar! The current 'fat free' fad is a classic - what has been done in a lot of cases is that whilst fat has been reduced, sugar has been increased, meaning the calorie yield is higher.

There is a lot of misinformation on food getting around at the moment, and much of it coming through food advertising.

At the end of the day, it's about calories.

I'm 25, 5'11.75", and I weigh 145lbs.

You can use Google's cool conversion calculator to adjust to your region.

I need to gain weight. I can't though. I weigh about 100 pounds. I'm about 5' 5". My metabolism sucks ass. I eat quite a bit. I've really no idea why I can't gain weight, so I blame it on my inefficient metabolism.

I was about the same at your age, so I wouldn't worry about it.. Didn't really start gaining mass till after 16+......

Not fat.

I weigh about 115 lbs., at a height of 5'7". My BMI (Body Mass Index) floats around 18 (putting me in the 16th percentile for my age).

Why am I not fat? My metabolism definitely helps, since I'm not exactly the most careful eater - I do read nutrition facts labels, I try to stagger the days that I eat really rich foods (ice cream only once or twice a week, for example), I almost never drink soda, and I try to eat lower-fat meals when eating out (chicken burgers are pretty good!), but as I said, I'm not hell bent on eating "right".

Also, cross country helps - Actually, I've gained weight due to cc, since I gained about 10 lbs. after the first few months of it, and that was apparent in my legs. But anyway, it's a healthy gain, of course.

While I do believe it should be relatively high priority to keep one's body fit, nobody else's body is mine, so I don't particularly care if other people are fatasses. Duke's apparently got some heft, but he doesn't complain, and I assume that his life isn't significantly impacted by his weight.

Few things piss me off more though than the ridiculous cases against the fast food restaurants lately - News flash! If you eat junk food, you could gain weight! OMFG!!! Either a portion of the population are drooling idiots who have never heard the term "common sense", or they're evil bastards trying to exploit the system to get a bundle of free cash.

Yes, 16, 5' 10"-ish, 80kg/160-ish lbs.

I rarely watch what I eat, I don't excersise on purpose, walking to, fro and around school is about all the excersise I get. I sit on my chunky arse all day long on this here computer.

I have tits that most young girls would envy, it's sick.

I'm pretty skinny, although I have been putting on weight lately from lifting weights. I have absolutely no healthy eating habits. I eat whatever I like, sometimes it's healthy, most of the time it isn't. If I wasn't blessed with a fast metabolism, and didn't run at least 5 or 6 miles a day for cross country practice, I'd probably weigh more than I do now. Right now I'm 5'6 and I weigh 130lbs.
