Although unrealistic, i think eventually everyone will learn how to use it strategically online. Who knows, we may all embrace it for the added wrinkle it brings

I won't use NOS on all my cars, just for purposes like trying to get those last few MPH to reach 300 in a veyron or something.
Also, when I acquire enough credits, don't be surprised if I used a riced out civic equipped with the most powerful NOS I can put online... and crash straight into a wall or other people.

Yes, because Juice, Gas, Dope and Spray make you sound like a rocket scientist, may as well call it Laughing Gas.

Saying nauss is about the equivalent of saying YOLO, Swag, or Alpha. You might as well call nitrous Zex (brand name), Nex (NX brand name), etc. Personally, I just call is nitrous because that's what it is.

Sorry, Nitrous has no place on a racetrack with corners. I'm fine with it in the game, the more options the merrier as far as I'm concerned, there's no reason the game can't appeal to just about everyone. And if someone wants to run a circuit or oval racing room with NOS on, that's fine, good for them. But the inability to toggle it on and off makes a mockery of online racing in GT being anything close to "sim". You simply will not be able to compete without it in Open Lobbies so if you want to be competitive you'll have to put a $100,000 upgrade on every car, to do something that is about as far from "sim" in circuit racing as possible.

I can just see the room titles now "Clean / NO Spray or Kick".

I hope there is some way of restricting its use eventually.

Only when I feel it fits the car and the theme at which I'm going for at the time. For me NOS on a Ferrari seems off, but not a 240sx or mustang etc

Twas a double post so I better use this space wisely.
Honda Carol 360 will be treated so she can crack the monstrous speed that is 110 Mph without being gravity assisted
Sorry to nitpick, but that's a Mazda Carol 360. :)

But you probably meant the vintage kei car, Honda N360 (N for Normal ;))
Or less likely, the Subaru 360.

They're all pretty down there in the HP range. :D

Mind you obviously (with picture above), I've hosted fun races with all these cars, tuning prohibited, in gt5.
Because that's just how I roll.

But anyway... so do we know if there's a NOS prohibited option online?
And surely it would be prohibited in "tuning prohibited", I assume.

As I mentioned earlier, second hand info, I was told you cannot disable it but I would assume that in a "tuning prohibited" room it will not be allowed as any other upgrade would not be allowed. I was also told that it doesn't affect PP, again, second hand info. We'll know for sure in the next couple of days.

I won't put it on all of my cars, just the ones I want to go as fast as possible in. Which will probably end up being all of them, but I can't imagine wanting nitrous in something like the Gazoo GT86.

Ya caught me skimmin through, I'd missed that.

That is nuts.
I mean as others have said, I'm ALL for more options, and will likely give it a try in the appropriate circumstances.
It's definitely a nice option for the street racing clubs, for sure, & I'd say great for that.
But not being able to turn it off is just bizarre.
We needed more ways to fine tune the tuning restrictions, not another way some bozo will be breaking on-your-honour rules.

Seriously though that scene bothers me to this day... it's Nitrous Oxide Brian and no you don't need it.

I may put it on a big heavy old school car (Chevelle etc) for "street race" fun but thats it. Shouldn't be in game anyway.

Haha, sorry Punch, didn't mean to imply you should have looked back:cheers:. It's way too busy on the boards at this point for anyone to check anything more than a few posts back:sly:

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that is bothered by nauss...which was spawned from that mediocre semi-racing flick.

That's like saying KERS doesn't work in F1 (which sometimes i'll admit, it doesn't. Ask Mark Webber). But to say it has no place at a track with corners? Ridiculous.. You're not going to use it in corners. Just like how F1 they don't use KERS in corners. I'm sure Nitrous changes PP so it will equal itself out some how. Or maybe they will add an option to disable Nitrous.. I'm delighted it's back, and will use it to my full advantage when i can.

Why not? Just because you have it doesn't mean that you have to use it. I think a few of my extremely low power output cars or maybe my show cars that I just collect(trailer queens).

I said, "on a track with corners" I didn't say, "use it on corners".

All reports so far, as I mentioned, are that it does not affect PP and it can't be toggled off in online lobbies. PD's own screenshots also support the latter. If this turns out not to be true, it'll be a welcome relief.

Please list all the racing series represented in GT that use Nitrous.
Please list any major circuit racing series that allows Nitrous.

I anxiously await your response.

That's not a logical response. Most people race because they at least want to compete and often they race to win. If you go online and enter a race and there are 10 cars and 8 have nitrous, you'll be racing for 9th most of the time. If you're happy with that, that's great, most people aren't. NOS will become the defacto standard in all open lobbies if you want to have a shot at winning or a podium.
