Just what it says...
I actually dont see any drift events in GT5 !!! Stop, stop, stop objecting - Everything we have in game is 3 premium drift cars PLUS DRIFT trials NOT events. Everything You do online when tandeming IS just our IMAGINARIUM of how the drift should be developed in a D-Spec mode. I know people make a drag races but it doesnt mean DRAG in GT5. I am very suprised that everything I see on drifting forum is
Nu NU members
Aussie drift team
drift videos
and Cars settings depot
Why do we not ask PD about something more?
Shame that BEING sponsor of D1 , PD dont devote a few more attention to drift in game.
Summary I would like to see through DLC a couple of new drift cars, 2-3 drift tracks, and tandem events with point system online, to feel the battle and heat.
My dream: tandem run with AI driver in GT Life mode, to practice skills

That's for the future, even though the official D1 game had AI that could tandem good, I don't expect it in GT5 anytime soon.

Maybe if you went one page further into the TEAMS AND EVENTS SECTION!! You might discover something more than an aussie drift team and a settings depot.

Most stupid thread ever, you just summed up literally every complaint that has already been made.
Favourite quote - 'IMAGINARIUM'.

I prefer a game with no drift mode, whenever they make a drift mode they are tempted to mess with the physics or add points or something. . .

I just drive the way I have fun which happens to be a little less than full grip.

When i go to the arcade I simply choose the downhill tracks and do time trial mode. I wouldn't even know if the physics ARE changed on drift mode, I just wouldn't risk trying, I know I have fun on time trial.

I'm satisfied with drifting on GT5. Besides why would you want to drift with AI anyway? It'd be impossible for PD to implement the AI do something like that and do you ever go into online rooms and tandem?

AI tandem would not work, but what i would love to see on GT5 is Ebisu. all courses if possibly, but one would be nice too

The tracks and cars I totally agree with, we only have a small handful of actual D1 cars. The points system is flawed as it is, so I wouldn't want to see it online :nervous:

.. and why would you want to drift with AI? Go online and drift with real people! I don't think we need a drift mode, just more variation for drifters (ebisu, new D1 cars, etc.)

Being a Japanese game though I would expect more Japanese tracks, but that's just me..
Yeah it would make sense, but their focus has always been on GT racing, so GT-style tracks are what we've got. Plus they made the game with the whole world in mind, not just Japan.

I'm excited to see if they release new tracks in the future DLC's that they've promised, but I'm not getting my hopes up :sly:

There are talks of a dlc every 3 months. But yes I would love to see more japanese tracks. Ebisu ftw

Well, here is a try, if all drifters vote in it, like over 1000 votes maybe we have attention from the PD.

Vote here guys, i don't have much hope but never is bad to try.

Let me think:

- The car visual customization is very weak and small. Standard or Premium, it doesn´t satisfy 99% of the drift crowd.
- Lack of tracks... i agree that is a a small selection of driftable tracks, and the track generator have it own issues.
- Some people complain about some physics aspects, specialy in the online state.

Even still, GT5 is actualy the best game for drifting purposes, due several reason. But in my "e-drifter" history, no game was able to beat Project Torque, specialy for a drifter.

The best, closest to the real life is Live for Speed, that is the best simulator for who wanna learn to drift in real life, already found some popular real drifters there.

When i mentioned Project Torque, i wasnt saying about realism exactly, but yes about what was more rewarding. And for myself, due several aspects, the "Sim VS Drifting" in this game was the perfection. Good prize rewards, slow "carrer" progression, dynamic elements, tandem scoring, a wise selection of tracks, good customzation... and so on...

By the way, about realism some people consider LFS the best drifting engine ever, some other consider R-Factor. For me, in a 1-10 simulation scale, where 1 is Mario Kart and 10 is LFS / R-Factor, the perfect for me is 8.

heres a thought...if you don't like drifting in GT5, then maybe don't do it? seems logical to me.

After all, it's not called Gran Turismo Drift...

Drifting never was and hopefully never will become fully mainstream. I like drifting because its different

Remember that drift teams do hold drift competitions between themselves and although it's not an official one it still counts. And I don't think the AI in GT5 will be considering drift anytime soon because they can't hold a decent slide (I tested this out by gently spinning an opponent out and they were slow to countersteer).

Expect what you get. I mean, if PD on focused on Drifting, this game would have most of the famous drift tracks but it's a simulator of Driving.

As long as there's drifting, I'm fine with it.

In Gt5, I see no problem, with racing in mind, the game does give people the opportunity to do other things. Whether or not PD takes notice or so is up to them. It's enjoyable, though, no matter what happens in the game.

I want a clutch button.

it's ebrake, if you do it fast in a straight line it has a clutch function, ever notice you engine sometimes disengage after braking without downshifting ? I think it does that momentarily
