Are you sick of the "I have a mature life" argument?

"Are you sick of the "I have a mature life" argument" No, but I am sick of having a mature life.

LOL good one! Thanks I needed that.

I want to remind people, you don't have to do all the grinding -- let B-spec Bob do it for you! Most of the time that I am home and awake, Bob is grinding. In the Formula GT at Indy (extreme/dream car I believe) Bob earns 86k in 17 minutes, and it's all mine. Yes I have to enter over and over, but I set a timer to remind me to restart and it really takes very little of my own time to rack up the credits. Add it up, hour by hour, day by day, and soon I have a new expensive exotic race car. You're welcome.

I'm 50/50 on the subject. I also have very little time to play, maybe 5 to 10 hours per week. I don't have kids to care for. But I agree about people whining about it been too time consuming to get anywhere in the game. I actually like difficulty level and the time I have to spend just to get the car I want. Bring on the grind.

I think most people who make excuses for everything should cut their losses and sell their system or suck it up and just try and get better or just shut up and play :dunce:

Grinding isn't difficult though. No one is complaining about how difficult anything is, we are complaining that it is so TIME CONSUMING for rather meaningless tasks. Racing Indy 20 times a night to save up some money isn't my idea of a challenge when it comes gaming. I'd rather mow the yard twice a day.

Who ever said anything about wanting the game to be easier? It's p!ss easy as it is.
I think most people want the game to remain interesting for a longer time.

At least if they expect you to really collect more than a hundred nice cars without having to do every A-spec event a hundred times over. And that's where priorities, such as a life, a wife and a job come into the picture.

Nicely put. Of course it's a waste of your time to explain the obvious to anybody that can't see the obvious to begin with...

Then there are people like me who pretty much only play online. You know how long it takes me to save up for a decent car with the little money I win. I usually get 1st place too, but it still isn't enough. I could play online all day just to save up enough money to rebuild my chassis on my elise and not my motor... stupid.

To the OP... You obviously have no life other than work and gt5. Your wife must not be that happy either. I'm disabled with a GF and I still don't have enough time to get where you're at. And my GF is usually mad at me for playing to much games for an adult.

See I fully understand this argument as I am in this category. As it stands I'll probably play a few hours on Saturday and that will probably be about it per week.

See those of us who are casual and are working 40+ hours a week we just don't want to spend that free time after work playing a video game, we want to (or at least I do) watch our recorded two and a half men and have a laugh or watch the recorded gadget show etc. You know, unwind a little.

Yes we can make time at the weekend because we have more free time, but even then we don't want to spend ages on GT5 as we appreciate our free time more.

Come join the real world anyone who spends more than 10 hours a week on GT5 :)

Are you guys sick of the "I have a life, a job, a wife, a kid, etc..." argument?

Come on, these guys think they deserve to get an overly easy GT5 just because they "have a life", and always justify their lack of skill for the game with that.

For the info, I'm 37, I have a job, I have a wife, I have two kids, and I'm A-Spec 40 and B-Spec 40 now, with 1226 cars. 99% complete, missing just two trophies, working on the others now... Yeah, no problem, family's cool too, really cool, there is time for everything in life people.

If you are so mature, why bother playing "kids" stuff?

I'm really sick of that argument, really. Too bad, you "grown ups" just discovered modern video games yesterday...

GT5 is awesome, yes, flawed, illogical, but awesome in the final balance, you should try a bit harder, or maybe even your kids can help you out... ;)

Lol I have been following this thread but only just taken in what the OP has stated ( my bad I know)

But it is this bit here: A-Spec 40 and B-Spec 40 now, with 1226 cars. 99% complete,

I'm in the same boat as you,( the op ) wife kids blare de blare.

This game only came out late Dec and you have already achieved all that, that's a lot of hours playtime m8

My wife is really easy going but she would have a few things to say if I spent that much time on the game , don't think my kids would to happy either, but even if I could get away with it I simply wouldn't , how can a husband and and father spend that much time playing a video game? what about husband and fatherly things? together time with the wife together time with the kids & just general grown up things?

Man time I get in from work have a shower help the kids with there home work ( if they have any) help around the house ( fix the ect ect what the wife has found for me to do lol) eat my tea , Im lucky to get an hour at Gt.

I know we all do things our own way and that's cool but 40/40/98% in a little over a month on a video game and your preaching to us about maturity lol yeah cool.

Dump her. My g/f of some 6 years has accepted that I will play video games until I die. Plus if your video game addiction conflicts with her time, she is probably too needy.

On topic...As annoying as it is to hear people throw around the "I have a life" card. I can see it be a legit reason to not do something like play GT5.

But let us be realistic here, the game is easy and it isn't fun to grind a race over and over to level up in A-spec. That being said, what is the rush to level up? It's not like GT6 is coming out any time soon, everyone will have more than enough time to get to level 40 as long as seasonal events become regular again.

Any reason for throwing out the "I have a life" excuse I can easily be debate and that party with a life will most certainly lose said debate. My verbal potency will whip your head back and turn your children into urine.

Listen I need to take care of a pet monkey that I stole from the wildlife conservatory as well as help out and feed my 2 invalid grandmothers, while working 90 hours a week hosing out the booths at the porn shop and collecting manure for fertilizer, while my crackhead sister runs a giant pot growing operation out of the basement of my house which I cant afford to fix the roof so it drips on my head while I am playing GT5 with my broken DS3 that my uncle stepped on during a bad heroin trip. All the while keeping up my hobbies of bug collecting, the ukulele, and world masturbation champion. And I'm still level 40!

So Kaz should give me 10 free X2010s because GT5 is the only good thing in my life, so all you haters just go die!

:)

I call BS...I REALLY don't think you can play the ukulele.

lol me too it would seem (31A 36B). I mostly just B-spec now and do the SE when they come up. That stuff takes up a combined hour to do a week. A droopy-eyed armless child could do what I do in GT5 now. And if they can do it, so can everyone else.

B-spec is where it's at for people with a life. You get better prize cars anyway. Then just do A-spec for a couple hours on the weekends. If you can't do what you want in those few hours you do A-spec you should just accept that your skill level is low.

Probably the most difficult thing to do in the game is to gold the S.Vettle challenge and if you (like many others) can't get anything higher than bronze after a few hours, you have no hopes of achieving gold. And in that respect the challenge is a waste of time since you get a X2010 for free at 35.

Charlie Sheen, is that you???

Charlie Sheen, is that you???

Duh, winning!

But no. The Sheen probably either has no time for GT5 or his life is so bitchn' that he manages to win everything in the middle of partying with porn stars and cocaine.

Charlie Sheen has a better life than all of us. Lets be honest with ourselves.

I don't think most people have the time or desire to spend on the game to achieve what they want out of it and I'd have to agree with them. The majority of people have more pressing issues in their life than to dedicate so many hours to a game, just so they can afford or be at a certain level to buy a car.

You do realize how many hours you've dedicated to the game so far?

I love the online racing in GT5 and F1 2010 games.

I will never drive a race car.

So instead I race a pretend car that I got by acheiving a certain score of credits and experience level; that takes hours/days of playing (aka 'grinding') to accumulate. Rememerber 650,000 credits to get a schwimwagen

The 'grinding' is the most in-efficient use of my gaming time; especially when I must make sure game playing/racing is only a portion of my time spent not at work, with family, with wife, travelling, at the cabin. And none of those hours are pretend/simulated :)

The beauty is, it doesn't matter how much I play the game; it doesnt affect you-the other gamers. Unless you listen to the whine of complainers over pretend/simulated engines :)

I'd love to be Charlie Sheen for a day - holding a private screening of Major League for sports stars and celebrities, texting Denise Richards about when I could pick up the kids, having fun with Bree Olsen :sly:, but not drugs. They are bad mmkay?

As for your previous comment about not being able to get gold on the Vettel, I'm okay with that. I have gotten the bronze Vettel even though the times were raised, I did that and I'm proud of it. I cannot get silver let alone gold. I've moved on.

B spec is where it's at for me these days except for a couple of times a week I participate in a racing league that has elevated my enjoyment for this game ten fold. I have no desire to grind Indy anymore for credits and that's okay with me too. I do race A spec a few times a week but almost never more than hour at a time, then it's the Bobs time to earn me money.

lol this thread is so true

Dudes act like PD owes something to them

they obviously wanted their game to last more than a week

Charlie Sheen's two twin boys were both level 40 A-Spec...that is, of course, before they came and took his children away.

Is this "Are you sick of the "I have a mature life" argument?" or "The Charlie Sheen" experience. Just shows that most are mature, but have no life.

Ok, here it goes again:

There is time for everything in life, if you play the "super responsible father" you will be like Ned Flanders.

If you play the "I'm super free" you will be like a cheeky teenager.

If you play the "I'm super responsible at work" you'll most likely be servile, or have a lot of problems in your life to seek shelter at work.

I just played a damn video game, a pretty good one, I loved it. I play since I was a kid under the "hardcore" category if you like to label stuff.

I love all these guys preaching on me, "Oh, your family is abandoned, oh, you are immature, oh, you should be proud at what you accomplished at you age..." LOL, just LOL.

You guys act as if you were next to me for the last 37 years to put adjectives on my life, LOL.

Just accept it. Some of us have time at a mature age to enjoy life in EVERY aspect, not just the "super responsible, super mature social game".

LOL, I'm a bad father, I abandoned my family, and I am so immature and irresponsible... Really LOL...

You guys should script some soap operas, or something, so much IMAGINARY drama going on should be profitable...

LOL...

You post a thread "Are you sick of the I have a mature life argument" and then you post arguing about your mature life, absolute class PMSL

...and The Sheen would never dupe!

Of course not! He's got all the cars already, duh!

"The Sheen" as you guys call him, will probably be dead within a year. It's sad, but it's just my opinion. However, he does seem to be enjoying himself so at least he'll die happy.

To the OP, having read your initial post a few times, and the subsequent 9 pages of responses, I'm not sure what you're trying to acheive. Are you complaining about people complaining, or is it a post about the virutes of being a self-employed artist in Mexico with time on his hands?

If it is the latter, then it's not something acheivable for most of us. If it's the former, then your thread is no different from the majority on the forum i.e. complaining about some aspect of the game, or they way some people play it.

Just saying...
