Assassins Creed III

Assassins Creed 3 Season Pass System Rumored

A GameStop employee let it leak that stores have been getting letters from Ubisoft that both thank them for getting so many pre-orders of "Assassin's Creed 3" and announced that a "season pass concept" is in the works.

"We are currently in the process of creating a complementary development team that will begin working on post-launch episodic content to continue the Game of the Year experience that Assassin's Creed 3 will undoubtedly deliver," reads the letter. Credit: Examiner

This game, not only is it going to be the best Assassin's Creed game ever, I have a feeling it might be the best game ever. Wow.

And I saw on the Italian PSN store that you can pre-order an Assassin's Creed gold edition. My Italian's not great, but from what I saw, I suspect it'll be 50$ to get all the DLC for the Americas, since it looked like it was 40€ in Italy.

That said, my Italian isn't that good so don't count on anything, as it might have been something else included, because for another 30€ you could get a different gold edition (probably with the PS Vita game?). It probably is DLC though, since I don't believe PSN ships things.

You mean like the Season-Pass type deal that we saw earlier?

Hopefully the DLC will be for SP and not MP. I really don't want to see Ubi turn into EA or Activision.

And that new engine. Amazing. The lighting. They said that Anvil Next let them use ambient occlusion and some other goodies, and it's really paying off. That, plus a map three times the size of the monster that was Roma in Brotherhood plus however big the Naval map is, all new, more fluid animations, better AI, seasons, weather, side quests and a conclusion to ****ing Desmond's story = GOTY. For sure. Unless something goes horribly wrong.

Yeah it seems to be a season's pass thing. Personally, I hope it's mostly sp also, but some mp dlc would be nice to :)

Meh. The MP DLC in previous games never looked good to me, as it was always petty crap like different characters and more modes.

Alright, so it looks as though the season's pass will probably be 30$, but I am worried that maybe not everything will be covered in the pass. Here's the description for the Gold edition of Assassin's Creed III on the Italian PSN store, I translated it to english pretty well, though small errors might be there. Hopefully the part where it said 'exclusive discount on incoming content' meant 'free content', and not 'discounted content'. Anyway, here it is.

If you live in Italy then yes (probably some other countries as well). The Canadian PSN store has nothing, just trailers, avaters, and a dynamic theme.

I must say, it's about time that the PS3 gets some exclusive content. I've been getting sick of Microsoft buying it all up with their deep pockets.

Wait so the game can be pre ordered on the PS Store?

It's available on the EU store. No way in hell I'm preordering from PSN. The download time will be gargantuan.

PS3 got exclusive content for AC Revelations, I don't remember what exactly but I'm pretty sure it was AC1 for free and maybe another thing

Yeah it was AC1 free, and on AC Brotherhood PS3 got the Copernicus missions (not sure I spelled that right). Can't think of any other games that give exclusive for PS3 though...

Its nice to know that they're not recycling stuff from previous ACs unlike some other game series. Does anyone know the size of the whole map yet? I haven't been paying attention to this thread that much and it would be nice to know.

I think they said it was around 50% bigger than brotherhood's map. Can't wait for this game.

Something like that, and that's just the Frontier. Boston and New York at 1/3 scale as well as some kind of Atlantic ocean type thing that looks pretty big. Add to all that wherever the Desmond thing will be and you've got a pretty awesome game!

Less then 2 months :)

I'm not a fan of exclusive rights for either one. It just hurts the other side, which is never good.

I did the math on this a while back, I can't remember it precisely but it went something like this: (All of it is based on statements from Ubi themselves)

Constantinople = .8 Romes
Frontier = 1.5 Romes
New York = 1 Constantinople
Boston = 1 Constantinople

Therefor, ACIII is 3.1 times the size of Rome in AC:B, plus the Caribbean-type-thing. It's going to be massive.

Also, where did you get the "New York at 1/3 scale" bit? From what I remember they said that they actually had to make the cities a bit bigger than what they actually were.

So one city in AC3 is almost equal to the whole map of Revelations? This series just keeps getting better and better!

The list of features in the first page seems to be outdated, were there any newer ones recently announced?
