Assetto Corsa 2 Will be Called "Assetto Corsa Evo", Coming 2024

Got high hopes for this game and there are so many cars in it I'd like to see.
Highest of hopes is the car I own an I30N and the pics showing the I20N gives me hope.
Someone decided to ask Marco on Facebook whether the I30N or the Ioniq 5N would be in the game, to which he replied "even more ;)"

:D

Unpopular opinion alert.

I really hope ACE's focus is mainly on road cars; modern and classic. Adding tuned or cup versions is welcome as well.

This was where the original AC excelled, in my opinion, as its physics engine and feedback allowed one to really feel, explore and enjoy the differences between each model.

Another way to look at it is being more of a driving simulator rather than a racing simulator.

I don't wish to see the car line-up filled with GT3 or even GT4 cars, especially since we already have ACC for that (with its more competitive approach).

For me it depends, i wouldn't mind historic gt3s, race cars, etc. I love the mix in ac.
Also depends on what gtrevival or what new name it has now, will have.

Even if they didn't have the SRO/GTWC license (which I doubt due to the success of ACC, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the SRO uses ACEvo as a new simulator for their eSports tournaments), Kunos can still license all the vehicles separately, If they keep the SRO license I just care to see the GSR liveries from the IGTC carried over to ACEvo and that I do not have to port them as a mod.

New update for AC1.
Promotion banners for EVO maybe?

that is what is wrong with AC, yes it was a driving sim first but then the mods came in and you really saw just how bad the AI is, especially when it came to multi-class racing

still literally zero mention of mod support which is quite worrying
I don't feel like that should be worrying. The has been the biggest aspect of AC so i don't see them abandoning that portion of the game. Especially if they want to be able to continue to be successful

This. It's probably the feature that is the most obvious to remain and least needed to be shouted about.

I do wish it would be a same day console launch rather than an afterthought ported by someone else.

The only issue is now the 20-year old Forza and GTR2 car models everyone uses are going to look even worse. And it’ll take much longer to model a car to the new standards for any of the big modding teams.

"The first Assetto Corsa has gone beyond any possible expectation from any point of view. Not just from a commercial aspect, but also in terms of what people have been able to create through the years and the way we have been able to support it.

We know that there are a lot of expectations, so EVO has been designed to move forward forever, possibly.

We have completely changed the structure, but it is a bit early to go deep on it. There is quite a bit more behind EVO that we will unveil over time.
"

We don't have confirmation, but I think it's hinted at a bit here with also a hint for the release of some official DLC over the future years.

For me AC EVO is kinda mixed feelings.

AC1 is like an old, comfortable sofa that you have completely accustomed to. THAT is how a sim should feel, that's how the tyre grip should feel, that's how the car should behave.

Hopefully they're not changing too much of that and build the physics around that good solid foundation. What ain't broken, don't fix it.

For me graphics improvements and eyecandy are meaningless. AC1 looks good enough with all the mods. It's all about the physics and FFB which are SO good on AC1. I go and play AMS2, rF2, even ACC but I always come back to AC1. It's just so much better.

I also hope they'll stick with the structure that you can edit so much stuff on a Notepad. What makes AC1 amazing is that there's ALWAYS a way to make ai better and faster by simply adjusting the car.ini, engine.ini, etc. That is so good for me as an offline player.

The ai is of course the biggest issue. For me it's the backmarkers / QF slow lap cars. Make blue flags actually mean something. Everything else is good on AC1. The ai is pretty good when the track ai is properly done and the cars well built but it's insane that backmarkers race you and even knock you out sometimes. That HAS to be fixed... it's a MAJOR issue. Also you should be able to adjust ai pitting strategy and clearly define how many times they're going to pit and when. That'd be amazing for me who creates and plays full seasons. Now there's too much randomness which can't be properly controlled with fuel tweaks. It works 90% but there's that 10% randomness... cars pit at times when it makes no sense... like making completely unnecessary 2nd pitstop in the last lap, etc.

physics weren't that perfect. The tyre physics was outdated and needed a much needed upgrade. And the RAIN....... Physics was **** on the rain.

Assetto Evo will at least fix those two big issues that really brought assetto down compared to other sims.

I also hope that they updated the driver model because the hands of the driver is assetto and competizione is just unbearable. Making skins on it is not a pleasure

Currently AC1 with the CSP mod can already do things like that, it's not RT but "it just works"

In this image you can slightly see how the underside of the cars are reflected, with part that are not present on the screen (with SSR the reflection would be broken there)

Why? Because NPCs are reflected? That can be done with cubemaps.
Guys I'm not saying that its interesting because they can have reflections, but where is it, is the car in a showroom ? Can you have a full 360 look around etc etc.

For me AC has a good mix. Would still be nice to Have some GT3 & GT4 cars too though, but I welcome more and more older cars. Also would like a super truck and a truck to race with, wouldn't say no to a ride on lawnmower either.

Also for driving roads are a must as well as small tracks like Highlands short.

Yes, that was what I was referring to, that with the CSP mod AC1 is capable of reflecting everything in real time even if it is something that is not on the screen, AC1 vanilla had a 6-camera system for reflections but it did not work with cars to make reflections of them for example, which the modders fixed.

As for the photo, my bet is that the reflection is from the pitlane of one circuit.
