Where are all the Merican cars? I see a lot of Euro & Japanese cars. Unless they add more cars from the good ol' US of A I won't be buy this game🤣 j/k A good list I like the fact that it is a diverse list right now

Time for spotting new cars, if anyone is interested...

NOTE: These cars might be traffic exclusive, we'll have to wait and see for final confirmation.

There was uncertainty if it was a BRZ or a GR86... it's a Toyota GR86

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

This might need a bit of squinting... Mazda MX-5 (NA) and Lotus Exige S (2nd gen)

And finally... Audi RS3 (Typ 8Y) and BMW M2 (G87)

I think we can also use the cars intended for traffic, seeing the statements about choosing finishes or engines, I wouldn't be surprised if Kunos makes the versions of traffic cars using those cars that will be available to the player.

One of the things I'd really want Kunos to clarify, is this whole dealership thing. Does it mean that, by spotting a VW Golf Mk8, we can confirm all Golf Mk8s? Same for the Giulia, the Huracan, the M4 (4-series), and so on? Because they talk about being to able to choose different engines, if the car is sold with these different options. However, all the specific cars we've seen so far only have one engine option. For example, there is no second engine option for the Alfa Giulia GTam... that option only exists on more entry level versions.

That's a lot of work to implement, I think.

I already wrote my Santa letter for Xmas 2025. I hope Kunos will not destroy my child dreams ;)
Santa wants to know, are you going to be good in 2025? ;)

Sure looks like we could get more info from overtake in an interview on tuesday next week, my hype has raised insanly with every exciting info we got so far,
It might actully be what the racing genre really needs.

Yes, offering a game like the first one might have been too redundant.
On PC we're starting to have almost too many sims, some of which are quite similar in terms of content.
(ACC, raceroom, rfactor 2, LMU, automobilista 2, reinsport, iracing...)

So it's a very good thing that the developers have taken into account the mods that were appreciated. (large map, traffic etc)
and offer an experience that goes beyond circuit racing.

The open world will be fully explorable in all its 1600km² including off-road, Nords will be the center of the map, the map will originally come out with Nurburgring and the closest surroundings (they don't know how much they will put in yet) and it will be expanded.

We will be able to destroy our car completely in terms of mechanics, in terms of visual damage it will be limited due to the car brands (the brands are even more restrictive than in the past)

The map will have practically all the weather of EVO except for the generation of puddles and gravity with water which will be a little more simplified compared to the circuits for performance reasons (doing this for the open world map would be very costly in terms of resources), they say no to snow, they don't rule it out in the future but they don't confirm it either, Misha recording in the snow was an unfortunate coincidence.

There will be businesses (automotive-related, for example tuning shops) that are not in real life for gameplay reasons

Regarding the real businesses in the area that asked to be on the map, they have received more than 300 requests and are reviewing them one by one.

The map has been made in collaboration with a company that has scanned the map for the German Government.

The gas stations will be functional and we will have to refuel.

There will be no speed limits but they do not rule out including police in the distant future after version 1.0, after all when that time comes there will be common vehicles for traffic (such as ambulances or vans) that players will be able to use in the open world then.

"The more realistic you play EVO the more rewards you will get" Not need explanation.

The open world challenges will be numerous and there will even be events such as stages and circuits within the open world itself.

The entire open world experience is completely optional and EVO is still a track racing game, if you don't want to do it don't do it but they encourage people to try it because it helps improve the overall experience.

Driving School licenses will be necessary to drive and race some cars (like racing cars)

On the subject of other type of licenses for online, there will be a ranking system and leagues that will be an evolution of the system done in Competizione and there will be filters in this regard (matchmaking has not been confirmed unfortunately)

Thanks to ACC, eSports and the pandemic, car brands have gotten even closer to Kunos and are now fully collaborating with Kunos even more to use their products as their simulators and are supporting the company with EVO giving even more details and even letting them test with real cars.

Two confirmed cars from the first EA build of EVO will be the Alfa Romeo Guilia GTAM and the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce Electric.

Another thing that has been mentioned is that Marco has confirmed the finishes and different types of gearboxes for the same car.

The first trailer was completely in-game as you can see after the Gameplays, it was not CGI because they didn't have time to do that.

Nurburgring will also be present apart from the open world as its own map for the non-open world modes.

The AI has been remade from scratch and just like in previous Assetto it uses the same physics as the player, they have created a learning system for the AI to improve its behavior the more it runs and with its reactions also making each one react differently, they will also have different behaviors and personalities between each other and the player (they give the example that you could find a very aggressive and fast AI and that you could recognize it later in another race and they have also confirmed that they can make mistakes and learn from them, the AI does not use scripted parameters of one or several lines like in AC1, it is designed with human behavior in mind to be more natural)

The multiplayer will be released in the second or third build of Early Access, they do not want to release it in the first build because it is important that the community tests each section of the game as it is released, otherwise we would go crazy.

Early Access pricing will go up as the game expands (similar to AC1 and ACC), pricing will be aggressive in a good way, everything released during EA will be free content for the game, there will be no paid DLC during EA (some developers should take note)

The most downloaded mods are free-roaming and that's why they decided to make an open world for EVO

As for open world map mods, they leave the door completely open to modders who make content about it to do something about it when they release the SDK tools for mods once version 1.0 is released.

Regarding the Early Access period, Kunos wants it to last about 8 or 9 months (Fall 2025)

ACEVO 1.0 will have a minimum of 15 licensed circuits, Marco say that he wants to reach 20, but if Kunos don't do it for 1.0, they will do it during the next 4, 6 months or so after the 1.0 release, those will be real circuits from the 5 continents.

That's encouraging for me because of all of the focus that seems to have been turned on this game because of open world, I have zero interest in it. Making it totally optional I think is a good choice.

I guess they are aiming for Q4 2025 for v1.0 launch because that is the biggest sales period for games generally, hopefully that will mean a console release in early 2026 🫰

Yes, for that reason the Nurburgring circuit is also in the game as a separate circuit asset as well as within the open world itself.

👍

I'm hoping the "Driving School Licence" system is optional, or at least doesn't prevent us from using cars for circuit racing.

kjb
All of this sounds good. I wonder if getting gas is optional in the open worked part. As I just go cruising and not worry about anything.
It will be optional. It was on that point specifically when he said that the more realistic you play it, the more rewards you get but it will be up to the player to define their own experience and how they wanna play it.

I'm definitely turning off police in free drive when it'll be added. Addendum: As well as jumpstart penalties. These cause me a lot of stress since I'm sometimes forgetful and/or clumsy.

“What we mentioned to Gamestar was that in the future EVO, being a game that features a huge amount of car classes, will have also some content related to the specific championships and I mentioned as an example the SRO GT World Challenge.

“We confirm that at the current stage there is no specific agreement in place with GTWC related to Assetto Corsa EVO and currently the only Official GT World Challenge Game remains Assetto Corsa Competizione”

I was kind of expecting it would all go to EVO immediately since they mentioned eSports, but guess that doesn't stop other games doing eSports so won't stop EVO.

F1 was never broadcasted properly in Finland, not even after Keke won the 1982 championship. We got regular broadcasts only in the 90's Hakkinen era.

I'm too young to remember the eighties properly but I remember some occasional televised F1 races which were just so amazing. Biggest influence was my older brother (now 55) who always talked about Keke, Nigel, Niki, Elio... I watched those old races when I was 5 years old in total awe with my brother whenever they got televised. Sparks, crashes, the tracks and pitlanes where you could almost smell the motor oil even through the TV screen. Now I have watched all those races many times as I have every race 1979-2007 in my portable drive.

The drivers were full of mystique and they actually drove those very dangerous and primitive cars. In the mid 80's those cars had over 1000 hp, even close to 1400 hp in the QF trim. I'm sure today's drivers are just as skillful and perhaps even more so, but looking at these mad machines (and regular 1-2 deaths per season)... you'd think today's drivers would ever agree to drive these absolutely insane cars?

RIa4jUM.jpg

Sure the Hakkinen-Schumacher era was great but for me it never had the same mystique anymore. Perhaps it had something to do with that seeing F1 races was so rare before and every time it was an unique experince when they got televised. Now you saw them all every other weekend and those drivers become much more mainstream. Hakkinen advertised Mercedes-Benzes on TV and Schumi was in the L'Oreal advertisements and all that.

To me the 80's and early 90's was something "larger than life" and still is. And think about the quality of the grid. In 1985 there was 7 world champions (past or present) plus solid drivers like Berger, Arnoux and Elio which anyone could win in a given day. And guys like Lauda who was a synonymous to "hardcore racer". Now the drivers look more or less like boy band members and to me the whole sport has become so sterile. I watch the races but I can't get passionate about the sport anymore.

Me and me brother always talked about "how amazing it would be to have a proper 80's F1 simulator". Sure we had that EA 2002 F1 game which had those old skins, we had RF1 too which was kinda revolution. But they were still lacking in so many ways. Like I said before, AC was the first platform that made it possible to "relive" this era in believable fashion. Well RF2 of course too, but I never liked that game so much. The worst thing about it is the menu system which is horrendous.

But how big percentage this older gaming crowd is, if you look at the big picture? Probably not that significant. At least not from commercial point of view. Majority of guys in their 20s and 30s love their Nissan Skylines and old Beemers.... tuning their street cars I think. I have ZERO interest in that. Well maybe not zero as I go and have a drift sometimes with the E30 too... it's fun but it's a still completely different gaming interest.

I believe quite a big percentage of "harcore" AC gamers are guys in their 40's like me or even older who love the historical part of the sport and AC has offered a perfect platform to "recreate" it. But it absolutely requires total freedom of creating things. If this will be removed AC1 will never be "replaced" I think. It has become an "gaming encyclopedia" of Motorspots in many ways.

I think that's what Scott is trying to say too. But personally I think we're just a small group of classic racing fanatics, not significant crowd from the commercial point of view. Not so big percentage of AC drivers even have patience or interest to drive full seasons I think.

And besides the outlap/blue flag issues in AI and some occasional stupid ai pitting there aren't that many flaws or something that I absolutely NEED ACE to have. Perhaps the ACE team is not even trying to put AC1 in the history books and the new product will just live side by side with the old. Who knows. Perhaps some crazy modders are even able to PORT AC1 mods to the new game?
The futur is now old man.

For EVO I am very VERY pessimistic about F1. I know full well that classic season is a no go. Just like V8 before I came in, nobody bothered doing any V8 mod asid of VRC 2007 cars and every new modder were doing V6 hybrid cars. Okay there's SDD but they don't count because you cannot enjoy what they did as even AI could have done a better job. If EVO allow modding, one way or another I'll will bring all my mods toward EVO. So that at least V8 era will be available for me to enjoy.

But classic season? The only car I'm doing is the 1976 Ferrari and mclaren and that's only thanks to rush movie. But for EVO? Modding will be less "open", more complicated and old dudes will want to stay with assetto corsa 1. Only hope is ASR. and this won't cover much.

Generally speaking, we need another me who is willing to cover many season at once, and for free because let's be honest people that start modding and want to earn bucks at the same time will cover more "popular" F1 season.

I expected in the rate of 150 cars in 1.0 release, but it will be 100, kunos might actully have remodel all of the cars so it can be understandable witch is a smart move as we move im the feature,

But given the cars will have customize and upgrade options it could give so much more value to the cars to, not arriving until 1.0 release through,

The car list could still expand much more after 1.0 release with both dlc and mods.

The lincence thing, and ingame currency sounds really intresting to me, witch both will be featured for launch. Witch i thought would come later.

This is going to be an very intresting racing game, and we could really see a true evolution in the racing genre, to even shake up gran turismo and forza.
