Anyone get the Fanatec CSW wheel to work on the PS4 with this game? I'm assuming it would since it works with PCars and Dirt Rally.

Wow that is really lame (I read through skazz's link).. I know it is all behind the scene big business contracts causing this, but it sucks. I really don't want to go down the path of who's fault it is as I am sure many are involved, but it is the consumers that are getting screwed over by it. Plus Kunos will loose sales because people who can play pCARS and Dirt on ps4 with their Fanatec wheels are likely not (and should not IMO) buy another wheel just to play it. This is the kind of thing that leads to people leaving consoles and going to PC. I was worried about this kind of thing when I got a ps4 so I got an official wheel.

Is anyone else having trouble getting the locked cars?

I have the Prestige edition and every time I try to select one of these it opens the Store but then says that the content is not available at this moment. Won't even let me enter the codes.

I truly love this game!! The cars, the tracks, the FFB, all of it, but my god, FIX ONLINE NOW!! IT'S AWFUL!! :guilty: I mean, which bright spark thought of designing the online lobby system like that??

It's $50 on the PlayStation Store. And there's no tax. So it's $50 flat.

It's $69.99 on Amazon.ca and that'll come to like $79.
Yeah, I still don't understand what happened there, I found it on the Xbone Store (is Microsoft trying to bury it? It's not showing up anywhere on the coming soon page but it's out on the 29th) and it's not that much for the pre-order edition. Sucks that I'm not going to be able to get all the cars because of store specific pre-order silliness.

The Performance Pack was a general pre-order incentive but the Prestige Pack was a pre-order exclusive for certain retailers. I am lucky in that I got Prestige. It should be made available relatively soon as DLC, maybe in a few weeks, so be ready.

I just finished driving the Ferrari 488 GTB and it is a magical thing. Just a stunning machine.
I think you're a DS4 user, right? How is the response and control?

I picked up my copy yesterday - here is my first experience with the game.
Physics are solid and feels very natural compared to any other game I've played. It blows Project Cars out of the water, because you can actually drift cars on a controller! It's not a revolution in terms of physics, but they are more than satisfactory for me. However, I will have to start off driving slow cars first to understand the game's quirks! Sounds are decent but a little bit muted, which kinda sucks because I was expecting a little more volume. There are a few issues though - the automatic gearbox is totally useless, shifting too late or quite simply not enough to keep the car at optimum revs. Thankfully, you can change gears yourself if you don't think you're in the correct gear. I don't want to use a full manual box because I can't be bothered changing gears all the time. UI is a bit clunky and isn't presented as nicely as it could be, and I saw many noticeable frame drops while I was driving, which is a bit of a shame. But overall, this is a solid game with decent graphics, great physics and realistic sounds. Am I blown away? No. Am I satisfied? Yes.

It's come up a few times already in here, but it's so important. Lower the ffb strength. I don't know how it all works on the console versions (PC has master + per car levels, with an app for gauging clipping), but you really don't want to be losing the detail that becomes apparent through eliminating clipping.

I've been with Assetto Corsa for a couple of years now, and still get completely lost in it. Last night I realised that I hadn't even touched the Evoras, so I took one out. I did lap after lap after lap, as if I'd only had Assetto for a couple of days, and was still in the "honeymoon" phase.

Circling back to ffb though - because I had not set a level for the car, it was way too high. I'm fortunate enough to have a dedicated sim room with a SimXperience Stage 5 beast held therein, and for whatever reason, the referred effects of ffb struck me ever more than previously. There's an interactivity between the ffb (the wheel), and the effects of the motion simulator (the whole car), that means that the wrong strength will make the whole "car" feel like it has the wrong behaviour. At 100% ffb, the suspension felt stiff like it should driving a nimble sports car, but kind of "long throw" stiff, if you will. The car felt like it was responsive, but also massive and awkward at the same time. The ffb strength was ultimately reduced by around 25%, and as it gradually came down, the whole experience progressively changed. At every 5-10% interval I was effectively driving a different car, until I got to the point where the ffb had no clipping and the whole experience (steering torque, g-forces, road surface, visuals) clicked into place. I was finally driving an Evora. Never before was I quite so shocked at how hamstrung the ride was by excessive ffb strength. On track, the car ended up with such a comparatively deft touch - successfully shimmying through turns, rather than awkwardly rollicking boisterously through them. The scary thing? Without the insight that the motion brought, I would have been all too unaware of how pervasive an un or ill-adjusted ffb strength was.

In short, if your wheel is clipping, you might not just be missing detail - you might be driving a completely different car.

To gain access to those cars you have to first go to the playstation store. Near the bottom of the left hand side menu will be an option to redeem codes. Enter your code and they will unlock. You may have to reboot the game after doing so though.

Is XBoX or PS4 as good as PC on rouls. 2 weels in.. ? :)

Damn, the jitter in the fps and reflection on cars both are bad. ISR said it is best looking console racing game. Loosing all their credibility right there.
It's not because one person has more of these issues on his particular setup, that another one can't have less of it on another. Depends on the scenario.

There are not much cars on screens either. Other tracks are probably better in terms of gfx, performance. But not sure what you meant by setup ? It is a console version and same for everyone unlike PC which depends on the gfx cards or changing some gfx settings.

That reaction is starting to become a trend it seems.
True that. I played it on PC ~2.5-3 years ago, the week it entered beta. It was OK, but I was enjoying GT6 more at the time. That was on a friends PC as mine could not run it, and I have not touched it since. Now I have sold my PS3 and have a PS4 with Dirt Rally and PCars. I really want to love PCars (I sent their dev team photos and measurements of my e30 M3 to help them create the model in game), but without a wheel I just can't get it to work for me. At ~90% AI I can get 3-4 clean laps in, but always get snap oversteer at some point and throw out a whole race and usually a whole championship. It sounds like AC is just as rewarding in terms of competition as PCars, and has sophisticated physics like PCars, but without the controller problems that PCars has.

I just pre-ordered, so I guess I will see in a few days!

warning for anyone who plays with gamepad on xbox

don't touch the last adjustment (Linealidad del volante) as it is with a bug and will ruin everything

moving, even if you go back to the default value, is enough to make the wheel of the car completely crazy. I had to delete the save of the game to fix the problem. I don't know if this problem occurs in version PS4

a good setup for xbox

60-100%
5%
5%
10%
65%
100% (don't touch that, until they fix - If you change, even going back to 100% the wheel will be completely broken)

Do you live in Brazil?

What's the lowest ping you can get on the online servers?

Xbox One has random performance issues. I posted several videos showing these.

Kunos confirmed the problems. The Xbox version is not good in its current state.

I'll take any patch going but honestly from what i saw in vids prior to playing the game myself i'm amazed at how much better it looks in the 'flesh' I played on it till silly o'clock last night, having spent a day on it aside from few goes on PCars and i can honestly say it shipped really really well, I was expected a poor rushed looking game but with great physics, but got both great physics and a game i would actually be happy to use to show off the xbox one to people who don't game.. now normally to i use Forza 6 to show off the console.
I really don't see stutters, or if they are there they in no way impact the game play, look for sure it doesn't quite run as smooth as Forza and i'd take that if Kunos can do it but in truth for me i can play this and get a whole lot out of it.
It is very much like Race Pro but much much better state.
I'd go so far as to say with it running so close to 60 frames its really close on say Monza and Barca to looking like Forza.
I will say this, since PCars and people telling me to re boot, close down, unplug, clear cache, turn 2 look in the mirror say hail mary, touch your nose, that i do clear and turn off my system after each play so maybe you need to clear your cache? Not sure, worth a punt?

Yeah, I'm a DS4 user and the default controls are really good. I dropped the sensitivity by 5% and it is perfect now. Obviously a wheel will be far superior so I am buying a Logitech G29 to really take advantage. If I didn't get a wheel I would be perfectly happy with how it plays as it is.

It took me 30mins or so to get used to using L2 and R2 instead of R-Stick for throttle and braking. It does need customisable controls though.

The key word here is 'random". Sometimes i can race for 30 min and don't notice any problem but other times the stuttering and frame drops are very noticeable.
