I'm a PC time attacker and a console racer. I will admit to dropping difficulty to easy for the race where you take on the E30 but I got it done. Other than that it's alien all the way in quick races and race weekends. Brilliant fun.

I don't quite get that... So you have tried the weirdly hard AI on console for an identical event? How did it compare?

Am I the only person experiencing problems with the Pagani Huayra? Even with "auto clutch" option on, the cars bangs on the limiter between shifts and the shifts themselves take about 4 seconds!

Yep. It shifts like a knackered '70s 3 speed slush box! The auto clutch and throttle timing needs adjusting. It's the same on the GT40 which redlines between shifts. I can live with that as it just requires a quick lift, but the Pagani's definitely broken. :-/

Nope. My PC cannot run AI and have an acceptable frame rate. That's why I was so up for this coming to PS4. There have been YouTube videos shown on the official AC support site and that shows the problem. The devs are aware and will do something about it.

Ah I see, understood. To be honest, I'm perversely liking the ridiculous difficulty. Every slight progress feels like an incredible win haha.

Incidentally, played it on the G29 we have at work, and it was ace - I dialled up the kerb FFB a bit, that was the only change I made - drove perfectly.

Shame I couldn't drive perfectly too :)

Do you mean the novice race, when you have to use the E30 against the modern BMW's? I gave up on that race, on PS4 on easy there is no way i can expect to achive 3th place, all the other cars is gone when i enter the first corner, the AI is way overpowered on easy :).

No it's the Alfa race where you have to catch the E30.

Yeah I've been shunted a couple of times, and it does feel like you've been caught in a tractor beam.

There's zero progressive 'squish' in the collision mechanics. This combined with the AI's superhuman reactions mean I always come off worse. At this point I prefer pcars AI.

It found it very hard and difficult as well. I drove the hell out of the AMG at Zandvoort but only just managed bronze. I think (no promise) I focus on it for the coming week to see if it is possible at all to get somewhere near silver.

I even gave it more hell :irked: and I managed to drive a 1.39.675. How on earth am I going to find another 1.675 seconds on this track :scared: ?

Well I drove the BMW 1M at Silverstone National PCars 1st AC second by means of lap time test for fun.
Now for fear of people seeing my times and getting all "your slow noob" I rarely drive the road cars on PCars and It was like 5 laps picked best time sort of thing.
Now by no means was this a test for anything other than fun of feeling how they differ and or are similar etc. The lap time comparison is just because it made sense to keep tally of each games lap time.
Used TX Italia wheel on a sim rig so all bolted down well and secure, PCars is set up well for me FFB wise but the cars were both left stock in actual car set ups. No driving AIDS.
So PCars first, actually wondered why in the first few seconds i don't drive the road cars more in PCars, especially the 1M, it felt great, just did 2 warm up laps then got on it. All felt as it should.
AC same thing 2 warm up laps, i'll be honest it felt a bit better than PCars in straight up comparison, just bit more information about what the car was doing, nice tyre sounds and nice car sounds, great experience and a lot easier as felt more like how any real car does on a real track, but very very similar to PCars and both were better fun than i thought considering i mainly drive the race spec cars....
So happy gaming on both, but the times:
PCars silverstone national BMW 1M: best lap 1.0585
AC silverstone national BMW 1M: best lap 1.0721

So with variance of track temps and tires i'd say that's pretty good.
Not sure what this test proves but I had fun doing it. I await people telling me i'm slow!
Cracking games to have, I do love AC.

For someone who was about to pass on this game for not having Peugeots, you're putting quite a lot of effort into it. ;)

This one is quite a stunner on PC. I only keep a couple of mod cars but it could be stock content.

Give me that Kunos

Not that much time ;)
I just really like it even without the Peugs. Maybe in a future update. There simply isn't a lot to race on ps4 where the Peugs are represented..... Driveclub, SLRE and Dirt.

In my PS4 US version, there seems to be redundant tracks. 2 Nordschleife tracks, 2 Nordschleife - Endurance tracks, 2 Nordschleife - Endurance Cup tracks, and 2 Nordschleife Tourist tracks. Tracks in each pair have the same specs. Is there something I'm not seeing?

It's another known bug. It happens in the PS4 EU version as well. 👍

I've been having a reasonable amount of fun in the on-line public races, once the loons have spun, crashed and rage quite its quite good. Managed to find a reasonable amount of variety as well over the last two night, including '90s DTM, Rs1600 and Abarth 696 SS (vintage ones) races.

I've not found a bad room online yet, granted I haven't played much online. Probably had about 10 races. I've never come across Rs 1600 or alfa GTA online yet unfortunately. After trying the special event Gtr vs Gtr which was fun I decided to try various road cars one make model 1 v 1 on the ring, and oh man is the Alfa GTA fun or what. Tried 4 AI too, it felt like I was racing against my mates.

I bet you'd have a better chance of a good room by going with cars like that, the knuckleheads will probably gravitate towards the GT3's and super cars (not that all people who like those cars are knuckleheads). They probably aren't as likely to go for the slightly odder cars that petrolheads will enjoy.

Do you guys in here think that the delay of GTS does AC a big favor over the coming months or do you think I will make almost no different because of the general audience (less hardcore) that is playing GTS? Will it make a difference for GTP?

AC could see an unexpected sales burst on PS4 now that digital pre-orders of GT Sport have been refunded. Money originally destined for Sony's own racing game back into a supposedly fair number of PS Store wallets.

Correct. Been hitting gt3s and at least one person get knocked out early and then turns AC into burnout: ram the sim and just tries to crash into race leaders. Once they leave and I dodge them, the racing is good a novice racer like me.

I took my Ford Escort RS1600 out today. Unfortunately, it only has 1970s slicks available as an option. Didn't provide me with the grip I needed - watch as I almost kill myself just before the end of the video:   :P

I had completely forgotten about that layout so I went and downloaded it today. I've only got that one lap in - didn't have any more time as I had to give my buddy his steering wheel back. :grumpy:

There's something very satisfying about driving a Ferrari 599xx in game whilst using an official 599xx rim on your wheel. Smug-feeling, even. :sly: I kept looking at the on-screen one and thinking, that's my wheel! :P

Unfortunate that the actual car handled like an understeering pig before I tuned it, but now it's great fun to drive, as long as I remember to brake early.

Got to the point now where Easy AI is too easy for this car, although I did have some terrific races against a bunch of FXXK's. I'll be hitting Medium next time. Baby steps...

The brakes are so bad it's unreal! I cannot recall how many times I overshot T1 at Monza.
Yeah I couldn't believe it either, and there's not a whole lot of tuning to be had on this car to help. I've at least got it braking in a nice controlled straight line (T1 @ Nurb always a good test) but it seems they forgot to put decent brakes in the car when they made it lol

After a few (too many) days without being able to play AC, yesterday I finally had an hour to play some more (Audi R8 V10 Plus @ Zandvoort).

Anyway, two things I'd like to mention:

- As discussed in other threads, depressing the pedals at the beginning of the game works as some kind of calibration and does make a difference. I'm pretty sure of it now. It makes them work in a more progressive way, using more of the travel and giving you more feel. I depress each pedal three times in the static screen with the Ferrari FXX-K (after the intro, but before entering the menus). I think that doing it so after entering the menus already does nothing;

- Also, as @Wiz pointed out in another thread, a lower number in the TC settings actually means that it will be stronger and more intrusive than a higher number. Keep that in mind.
