Interview from Alan at Team VVV with Marco. Gives you some insight into Kunos and their philosophy towards sim racing:

A lot of effort has gone into it.
LMAO now i know you are trollin

To be fair, DC isn't actually too arcadey, heck it's about to get a mode which you can disable TC, ABS and whatnot. It's more accurate than people let on I think.

But anyway, GT6 is nowhere in comparison close to anything anymore (FM6, FH2, PCARS, AC and DC). I mean we are about 2 years into the "Next Gen" era chaps.
It was even as good as GT5, I thought GT5 was poor, but i had a lot of fun online with that game and it did have some good things about it.

Now i dont know about anyone one else, but AC has always reminded me of GT visually. It doesnt have the eye candy of the other games but it has the right colour pallet (for me anyway), everything seams right. In GT5 it was the same but then when you get a sun set on the nurb in gt5 it was like wow. With games like Driveclub the eye candy almost goes unnoticed by me because the whole game is eye candy.

At least with AC i can pretend its GT im playing because they have the same look, just for nostalgia as i cant see me ever buying a gt again (i recon its finished).

I know there have already been quite a few questions about the cars and the tracks that are in Assetto Corsa. I was curious if there's any update on whether Laguna Seca may be coming to the game. I didn't see it in some of the lists, so I was wondering if there is any plan on it coming.

I am more than happy with GT6. How much better can any future racing sim get? GT6 is almost perfect in every way already. We've already peaked I think.

In terms of polish, GT and FM has always been pretty good (standard cars in GT notwithstanding). But they come from established and big first party developers, so it's to be expected compared to SMS and Kunos.

However, in terms of driving physics, FFB, sound and AI, there are games from the PS2 era that's still way ahead of GT6 in every aspect.

I used to be the same as you, thinking that GT is the zenith of driving sims. But after getting bored with GT6's slow development last year I've been dabbling in some of the older PC sims (rFactor, GTL, GTR2, LFS, RBR) and I'm amazed how far ahead they were compared to GT (keep in mind those games were released around the same time as GT4). I can't even begin to imagine how much more advanced the newer sims are like AC and rFactor 2.

GT has its advantages (convenience, graphics, car count), but it's no longer the king of driving games sadly.

I'm sold on this already, I appreciate PCARS for what it tried to do but the bugs kept irritating me and this looks to have this problem resolved (hopefully). This and Dirt Rally on my PS4 is fantastic, now somone buy me a Thrustmaster shifter :D
We really have no idea about what and how many bugs will be present in the console versions of AC (and Dirt Rally for that matter). Give them a week after release ( actually even a day or two is adequate) to see what ugliness rears its head. I remember right after PCars released there was page after page after page of bug reports, it was really bad. In fact I have never witnessed anything like it with any game that I own or have purchased before.

Cant delete your own posts?
Not by yourself. You can edit them, delete the content, replace it with "please delete" and then use the "report" button and tell a mod to delete it. I usually just edit and write "deleted" and leave it at that.

Hasn't been mentioned and I think I can safely guess it's not in the plans. It's a team of 27 guys making this game based in Italy so I expect the majority if not all the tracks, will be fairly close to home. I believe the Redbull Ring is next up. AC2, if it comes, might see the track list expand off the continent if AC1 is successful on consoles. Just educated guessing of course.

Always good advice after the PCars fiasco, but I believe Kunos is well aware of the problems SMS had and has taken the right steps here in porting the game to console by hiring a separate team to do the porting. Adding to that it's a much simpler game than PCars with no day/night, no weather and it's been proven in the trenches for more than 2 years on pc.

Frankly they are all pretty similar. If you are playing one of them and you are happy with it then don't go wasting your hard earned on another almost identical sim.

Chill guys, we're all entitled to our opinions what?

That's a very good point, fingers crossed then.

Sure we do. Kunos has given copies of the game to reviewers and are letting them show those videos. Its 2 1/2-3 months till release. Never got that from SMS, they never let anyone have a copy of the console versions early.

''Almost identical'' in terms of physics is a definition which I would never use if I compare GT6 with Assetto Corsa or any of the PC simulators.

Its clear he has never played AC so taking his opinions serious is impossible. If he does play it though I have a feeling hes not gonna like it. The first time he flies into turn 1 and slams the brake pedal and yanks the wheel (as you do in GT) only to go sliding off into the dirt, he gonna say this game sucks.

Have you played anything other than GT? As 'all pretty similar' is certainly not the case.

When it comes to physics its not just opinions, this is an area in which we have a readily available benchmark (reality) and as such don't need to use opinions.

When AC is launched for consoles we will see the comparisons threads open right up, and if its even close to the PC version then I very much doubt that GT is going to fair well in a physics comparison.

GT SPORT might fare well, big unknown at the moment.

he gonna say this game sucks.

I let that here for the people who's worried about the controller implementation in assetto Corsa (more worried are the Pcars controller users )

Definitely nothing to be worried about it!
People who tried the Pre-alpha version and even kunos simulazioni said that the controller is OK:cheers:

This is good news, no, FANTASTIC news. Now all this needs is some Aston's. :P

Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinions, even when they are completely wrong:sly:

Every time someone thinks they are, I think of this.

Anyway, Kunos announce the game and then we see videos from websites that have pre alpha versions. That shows confidence in the game. It also shows up PD, with their lack of news, a lot.
agreed it seems Kunos want everyone to know that "we're here to body the competition" kind of vibe from what I'm seeing besides that I really cant wait for apirl to come i'll be ordering a wheel by march

I have to admit I am amused and a little concerned that it as been so many response on a new member, less than 20 posts at the time, outreagous statement.
I have always thought that ignoring this kind of poster is enough to make them go away.

It's not about making anyone go away (the site would not last long if that was the case).

It's about understanding why that opinion is held and discussing it.

Anyone knows whether there will be a AC demo announced for the consoles? If anyone from Kunos/505 Games reading this, please consider it because it will benefit the game immensely. Lots of GT/Forza fans really just need to try AC and they'll be convinced.
agreed that would be nice for a demo to come out

Not in the cards. Demos are expensive and this game does not have a big budget to begin with.

Its a good plan, Having all the bells and whistles is a great selling point, but whats the point if its going to cause major issues. Its too much tail chasing if things dont go smoothly, st least this way they can concentrate on making it an enjoyable experience then when AC2 comes around they can concentrate on adding things like weather and making it work smoothly

Yes i think this is very telling, why wouldnt you want reviewers to have copies of your games before release? post release of pcars answers that i think.

I think at least 2 cars should be added too, something like the Alfa gta or Escort and a high powered car. No point just giving a beast so noobs cant handle it, i have a few friends who have closed the door to Seb Loeb rally because it was too hard.
