I need to decide if I am going to buy any DLC for this game. For people with the new Japanese Pack, are those cars available to race online? I can't see it being worth it if I can't race them online, even with the limited online and number of people.

Now that it seems the prestige pack is included in the season pass, seems the season pass is the way to go.

No lobby's for japanese cars at mo.

To reiterate, the MX-5 Cup is such a lot of fun. Easy to race neatly, easy to slide when you want, easy to correct, gives loads of information through the FFB.

And it's also good for teaching you how to blip on downshifts properly, since you either blip when shifting down from 3rd to 2nd or you hold the slide which comes from locking the rears due to not rev matching. If you are running auto-blip, this is the car to use to learn to drive without it :)

Yeah honestly I wish I could buy just that car.. I know it is fun to drive the others in time, but that is the one I want. As soon as there are servers online for it, I will buy it through the single pack or the season pass and spend some effort trying to get others to race it online with me. And.. I see that server setting on the ps4 server browser to force default setups (it is always off though) - so I know that option should be made available to us on the consoles.

I see a lot of complaining about the lack of data on the HUD. Would it be an option for Kunos to make the data available on the network for an app to catch, like Project Cars does? So they would be able to outsource some of the work. Just an idea...

I am sure they could.. hopefully they will. Just have more important things to do like improving the online functionality, custom button mapping, etc, etc...

Personally I do not like a fancy Hud... give me the rpm and a shift light or the rev lights, a gear indicator (for seqentials) and the laps. I am happy, the rest I am good using feel. I know many others like all the info they can get so hopefully it will be available to them.

Go to Zandvoort with the Mazda MX5 Cup en race there with the AI , it is goooooood .

I have my PS4 simply connected to my LCD TV through HDMI.

I then have the TV connected to a stereo system via optical cable, but that doesn't affect anything, since the problem can be heard already on the TV (with the stereo system off).

Can you try making a video, like this one? I don't see why it wouldn't sound the same.
Confirm.
Pretty noticeable with the japanese pack.
Also had one channel music audio:tdown:

For everyone noticing this, do yourselves a favor a post something here. Add a video or a comment or something, just to bring it up.
Do it. 👍

Try connecting the optical cable directly to the stereo system instead. I've tried connecting your way in the past and had issues, not on the PS4 though. If the problem persists even with direct connection at least you can rule out the TV as a potential issue.
Gave it a try. No change, unfortunately.

<...>3. I'm not completely sold on the Red Pack and who knows how much I'll crave the third Porsche DLC after the first two.

The Red Pack has something for everyone, and then it has one thing for all of us.

Believe me, when the Red Pack hits console, the gushing about the Maserati 250f will hit GTP again (already did earlier in these threads for PC users).

It's hard to describe just how much fun the 250f can be. It's a whole different way of driving a car from pretty much anything in a sim. Even if you don't think you will like it, the sheer fun of learning to keep it on the road, constantly adjusting the steering (even on straights) and perfecting those gentle slides around corners can keep you busy for hours.

I'm sure I will like the Maserati but I'm not so sure about the two F1 cars. Red Bull Ring is decent enough but I almost never drove it in GT6.

@skazz beat me to it, hyping up the Red Pack...but I thought the Red Pack was worth it for the Aventador SV alone. :D Seriously, I'm not a fan of modern Formula One/Indy style open-wheel cars. They're just way too fast for me. The older ones, like the Lotus's and 1970s Ferrari are fun. The Maserati F250's from the Red Pack really wow'ed me. Driving those cars on the old full Monza layout is so cool. You can see that suspension working so hard to keep the car from killing you on those huge, steep, banked turns. I never would have guessed those cars would be as much fun as they are. It doesn't have quite the top-end the 12 cylinder provides, but I think the 6 cylinder is awesome.

EDIT: I don't touch the two new F1 cars either. The newer Ferrari is an absolute rocket. Way too much car for me to handle.

The 250F separates the men from the boys, the women from the girls:cheers:. A few minutes in the 250F on the Nordschleife and you'll understand why Fangio is in the Guinness Book of World Records under "Largest Testicles". :sly:

I can only imagine, absolutely love the lotus type 25 and 49. Just watching the front wheels snake along for grip is awesome. reg. Japanese pack, it's £3.99 on uk psn, that's great value. For reference, I paid £3.99 for 5 keys on rocket league the other day. I almost bought it as I don't want to pony up the full season pass fee at tye moment as funds are tight but I'll wait. This pack doesn't grab my attention tbh but I know I will love that MX-5 cup car.

The Mazza GT4 is my favorite of the pack, makes for great close racing. I've never found RBR that fun to drive but the racing there is always great. I've been surprised at how much in enjoy the F138 too, I'm normally not big on those cars but I quite enjoy it and it's easier to get on with than I thought it would be. I haven't finished my masters degree in rocket science yet so I can't drive the hybrid F1 car.

So i just got back into the game after the update and my god the AI is just unbeatable at times. Depending on what car i use. It's like I'm going against zak speed or something. Not to mention this is on hard mode.

Just picked up assetto corsa for my PS4. Having played the other console title all I can say is wow !!!! No FFB tampering for weeks. What an amazing feel for the car. I'm a very happy camper. And I'm too insensitive about frame rates and sound glitches anyhow. So of there's something. I'm not noticing it. Now I just need to get the kids to bed, and send the GF somewhere

But this is truly amazing for me

I have to say, i wasn't interested in the japanese pack at all, i bought the season pass just for Porsche and the Red pack. However, i must admit: some of these cars are really fun. It's great to see that even the slower cars are fun to drive in AC, that says a lot about this games unmatched physics and realism. My favorite so far is the Mazda RX-7. This really put a huge smile over my face over and over again. Great sound and really, really fun to drive.

I'm trying my damndest to find the post where they said those two packs are not included in the season pass but I've been in too many threads today to remember where it was. It was a screenshot someone posted. @brownninja97 did you happen to see what I'm talking about or did I just imagine it?? I've not seen any explanation as to why so many people suddenly received those two packs.

My best guess (and this is a pure guess so don't put much weight in it) is that each Porsche pack will be $9.99 and the season pass will be around $25. The big DLC packs have historically hovered around $10 and while there's no track included in any of the Porsche Packs I think the fact that they're all Porsches can demand the $10 price, and then knock a few dollars off if you pony up for all of them at once with the season pass. Again, just speculation based on past DLCs.
Well when I asked I was told that kunos made a "mistake". They might take their merry time fixing the problem or just ignore it. As for the porsche dlc I think you might be onto something.

The GT4 is definitely one of the reasons why I would want to get this pack. The thing I've enjoyed most about Red Bull Ring over the years (including the A1 days) is the surrounding scenery. Too many of the world's newer or modernized race tracks feel urban and industrial, but Red Bull Ring is a nice escape from that.

Any update on the new dlc cars being playable online? I haven't seen any response from Kunos/505 about it on the official forums. Just curious if anyone has seen anything from them about it elsewhere?

Having now played the game for a few hours, I have to say that the  effect isn't wearing of. With the exception of the countach at black cat (which absolutely tried to kill me) all the cars I've tried have been very drivable with out any tuning needed. I found that i very quickly got the feel for the car, with out flying off the track at every pedal input. So either the physics is so great and I'm just a better driver than I thought - or the physics is broken, to the degree that I absolutely love it. Either way don't change it :gtpflag:
